She was very open about the process, answered all my questions patiently. She gave me a a list of locations that is within driving distance but was open if I wanted a place of my own choosing. I'm glad I chose one of the places she shared, she knew hwere to go, and good places to take the pics. At our appointment, she came on time and was very well-prepared. My dog had such a good time during our session, and I did too. when the photos came, the result was amazing, and selecting them and getting the digital copies was a breeze.

Deciding whether or not it was worth the money, time, effort, etc. Clearly I decided to do it and let me tell you- IT WAS 100% WORTH IT ALL. I didn't have any idea where to go to take photos- so Dog Proof set up an absolute perfect array of places to take her. We went to wide open fields, beautiful lakes, graffiti walls, bridges- it was quiet the adventure. Ruth had a blast! Unlike most photo studios, Dog Proof let Ruth be a dog. They captured her jumping for her tennis ball, digging in the sand, exploring the woods. Every single photo showcased Ruth having the time of her life, enjoying being a dog. Not to mention, Ang is not afraid to get muddy! She got in the dirt to take half of our photos- getting the best of Ruth's angles! It was incredible to see her work!! When the photos came back, we were stunned. These photos will last a lifetime, moments that I could never have captured on my own, that are hanging on our walls forever. I can't thank Dog Proof enough for giving my family such a beautiful gift. If you're on the fence about getting your pups photographed- I suggest you do it! You won't regret it at all if you use Dog Proof. (AND your dog will be happy you chose them too- Ruth left the shoot exhausted with lots of cheese & meat in her belly!)

She chose perfect locations and we didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. The pictures came out amazingly! From the beginning, she asked thoughtful questions to understand what we were hoping for, gave suggestions on potential locations, and explained how everything would work while checking in along the way to make sure how we'd work together worked for us. On the morning of the shoot (we picked a sunrise option down by the water in the city) she took a wide variety of shots and she is amazing with dogs- she was patient with our new puppy, knew how to capture his attention, and we walked around to different spots that allowed for greater variety of backdrops and lighting as the sun came up. Once the photos were ready she did a fantastic job walking us through the options and came prepared with real materials (frames, photo album covers, samples) that really helped us envision what the final products might look like. When our selections were ready, she brought them beautifully packaged- it was like opening a series of gifts! Blue herself is an absolute pleasure to work with- she knows her stuff, is super responsive, and has fantastic ideas. The way she runs her business makes it easy to understand each step of the process, and she uses tech in a way that is easy to engage (e.g. upfront intake form, selection tool for photos, etc.) paired with high-touch service. We really enjoyed working with Blue and hope to do future shoots as our pup grows up. Thank you Blue- we love the photos and working with you!

The photographer was able to genuinely capture the essence of our two dogs so very well. The portraits are super high quality and are therefore, rather expensive. But these will decorate the walls in our living room for many years to come. During the photo review session, I couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Highly recommend.

You will be coerced into spending thousands of dollars. Not tens. Not hundreds. Thousands. Now you might be thinking to yourself, "if that's true, how come reviews of this business are so high on Google?" That's because this business painstakingly appeals and removes every negative review. As for the reviews that the owner can't convince Google to delete? She personally threatens the reviewer with a lawsuit. That means that this business only appears to have a positive rating because the owner has hand-picked them and removed the many, many negative ratings. I have nothing to gain from posting this besides to warn people not to end up like me: tricked into spending thousands during a "free" photoshoot and threatened with a lawsuit once I complained. Please be warned: if you've been offered something FREE, get ready for a huge bill.

Barnes Photography is terrible, Terrible, TERRIBLE!…read more I never write reviews - good or bad. I haven't the time or energy to spill vitriol at a business that wronged me. But I'm making an exception for Barnes Photography in East Brookfield, MA. And this is long, LONG, overdue... Heed my warning! Steer WELL CLEAR of Barnes Photography at ALL COSTS! Caveat Emptor, baby ... Let the Buyer BEWARE! It's been YEARS since I got screwed over by Barnes, but it STILL stings like it happened yesterday! Every time I drive past by their deceptively charming little shop on the hill in East Brookfield, TO THIS DAY I feel, literally sick to my stomach over the mistake I made patronizing their business. My tale of Woe started when I was living in East Brookfield and I had my then-toddler son photographed at Barnes. Its been a long time, so my numbers may be a little off, but the bad experience is still acute. After paying a ton of money and going through the shoot, we arrived for the 'showing' some weeks later and were disappointed to see that my toddler son, who was to be the focal point of the large portrait photo was extremely small in the shot. There was so WAY too much boring background and not nearly enough of our precious son. So we asked them to adjust the portrait so the subject was more prominent in the picture. Weeks later when we went back to them for the big reveal, we saw that our son was, indeed, larger in the portrait, but the proportions were all messed up. He had this gigantic Charlie-Brown sized head and his legs and feet were extremely small. To this day its hard not to laugh at the picture. But, our boy's expression was really cute, we spent a boatload of money for the shot, so we just accepted it as is... I should've learned my lesson then about Barnes, but no... not foolish me... Not stupid, stupid ME! I figured the first experience was a fluke... Instead - clearly a glutton for punishment - I went back a couple years later for baby pictures of my daughter. We did the shoot and I paid over $800 up front. There was, admittedly a lull after the shoot before I could scrape up the balance, as I was sorting through some home issues. But eventually, I reached back to them and asked them for the portrait. They said they didn't have it. I asked for the films. They said they didn't have them. I asked for my $800 back. They said no. I asked for SOME of my money back. Even a LITTLE... Coldly and brusquely and ENTIRELY UNSYMPATHETIC to my plight, they replied, "Nope." How on EARTH is it that a professional photographer just LOSES an expensive, PAID-FOR portrait?!! How on EARTH does that same professional photographer just LOSE the PAID-For films?!! I wrote them and called them way quite a few times back then but their constant rejections just wore me down, so I did what they'd counted on... I gave up. But now, Yelp has come along so FINALLY I can get this off my chest!!! Today, what do I have to show for my experience with Barnes Photography after spending well over a thousand dollars and not a few sleepless nights and drive by stomach aches? Just a weird picture of a boy-pumpkin-head with Barbie doll legs sticking out of the bottom that we're storing in the attic to spare my son the humiliation; and absolutely NOTHING to represent my daughter in her toddler years. "Where's MY portrait, Daddy?" My girl asked, once, noticing her portrait is conspicuously absent from our household. I've pretty much let it go, but next week we're hosting a college graduation party for my daughter. When it was suggested we display her baby portrait at the hall, it brought back all the misery of that dreadful Barnes Photography Experience. Folks, there are LOADS of professional photographers out there you should absolutely choose instead of Barnes Photography. Heck, a good I-phone has made over-priced so-called "Pros" like Barnes Photography pretty much obsolete. Trust me, you can take better photos than they can. Save yourself the money and aggravation and STEER WELL CLEAR of Barnes Photography. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!
