If you have a choice I wouldn't recommend HME Specialists LLC. My first experience with HME was when they sent us home from the hospital with a heavy suitcase sized oxygen concentrator, that I had to unload from my car...and the POS was broken! HME took 2 more trips to get a working oxygen concentrator delivered--they actually said there wasn't a working concentrator available. This got resolved after a call to our insurance company. Really didn't think it could get worse--Last call to HME for replacement oxygen tanks we were notified there was no home delivery available. We had to drive to HME to exchange our empty tanks, the receptionist helped unload 12 tanks--none of the uniformed guys helped. No surprise--the billing is a mess, invoices are very disorganized and they continue billing for services not processed through insurance. I needed CPAP supplies since March. They kept telling me my doctor was not sending my prescription over. Come to find out. My doctor has sent over clinical notes from my visit which had my prescription in it. They never bothered to look and read through the notes. They figured that my doctor never sent a prescription over. So finally after 2 months of waiting. An awesome wonderful worker named Mark finally helped me. I'm hoping things go through. I did get a message telling me I should be getting my supplies in about 3 to 5 days. Hopefully things go well I get my supplies. read more

They are absolutely horrible. I'm still being charged for a bill I made payment arrangements for and paid off in 2021. I'm still waiting for information I requested by phone and mail. They need to be shut down. They do more harm then good. Who owns this company. Is it just a write off because he/she obviously never reads the reviews. They even gave me a check a year and a half ago for overpayment. They need to really look into their billing department. I would love to see the IRS look into them for fraud. They do not keep any information on what your insurance paid so they can charge twice. Please do you and your loved ones a favor and go elsewhere. Anywhere else has got to do better. Beyond horrible. Disorganized, do not answer calls, We've called called 11 times over 3 weeks to have them pickup equipment- They schedule and never show up. If you have a choice, go anywhere else but HME. Hold times are in excess of 1 hour and callback times even longer. I have yet to speak to someone in this company that treated me like a human being. Customer representatives will actually yell at you. I need my medical supplies to live, and these people DO NOT care. Avoid at all costs. Look for another company! Poor customer service, lack of communication and lack of knowledge. The representative who brought our equipment to the hospital was unable to educate us on the use and could not properly set up! Thank God for Google. HME ordered a seatbelt for my wheelchair. Well, it is almost one year later, and I am still waiting on the seatbelt! The technician from HME came out to work on my chair but did not bring the correct parts. He/They ordered the wrong parts! Then they take many months to return to make the repairs. It seems like everything I need from HME takes an inordinate length of time to come in or be ordered. They don't remember me having asked for a seatbelt, or they lose prescriptions that are needed to order the parts. I have my insurance care coordinator fighting on my behalf to get this problem solved. I really need a seatbelt in a bad way. Right now, I would not recommend HME to anyone looking for any medical equipment. They are horrible to their customers and they do not seem to give a shit! I wish that I could give negative star reviews to subtract stars from the rating. read more

Equipment was dropped off when I was not home even before I approved. Then I received a bill with no explanation of charges and no indication that the bill was a monthly rental fee instead of a purchase. I didn't want the equipment but I thought I needed to keep it since I was already responsible for the charge and I owned the equipment. Then I received a bill for an outrageous sum. The HME manager in the office where I returned the equipment after finally figuring out what was going on told me she thought it warranted a refund but she was unable to do that and I should call the main line. They lectured me telling me it was my fault for not knowing the conditions. Hmmm. How on earth am I supposed to even know if there is no information?!?! But, none the less, I accepted responsibility and decided to pay it and be done. HOWEVER, the link on the website times out and the phone prompt keeps hanging up when I try to call. This is ABSOLUTELEY INSANE. I also receive robocalls threatening collection but when I respond to the prompt to pay, I am transferred to a message that states it is after business hours and to call back. WASH, RINSE, REPEAT. Well, I have been on hold for customer service for 90 minutes starting at 9:30 am and nobody has answered the phone yet. This to address an issue where I got a call from them saying I am now eligible to order my supplies and all I need to do is call, but when I call I am told by the automated system that I am NOT eligible to order my supplies.
