I don't know why you say Papaya, I'm going to play Halo. The Hmong Village is a huge Warehouse full of textiles and trinkets and amazing Goods that are generally Vietnamese but also from all parts of the world. And at one end of this massive Warehouse of goodies and delights is this enormous endless row of magical food places which are serving everything from Pho to fake Chinese food to fake Japanese food to Korean food and even some real Chinese and Japanese to go with the Thai and the Filipino and a little bit of everything such as Laotian and Cambodian - but definitely heavy on the Vietnamese stuff as is the expectancy. The sad thing is that people on Yelp haven't really made a dent into these yet as I came here and noticed that probably only three or four of the 30 or 40 food places in this massive Market have even been put on Yelp yet. I've now put them all on Yelp and will be working my way through them each time I visit Saint Paul until I have put up pix of various dishes at each one. But if you live around here and you come here more regularly than I do, what's your excuse? Give all of these places a try! Put them on the map! Figure out which ones are the true hidden gems! Why go to Ye Olde Basic Brewery yet again for yet another pale ale and yet another microbrew craft beer and some more freaking Mozzarella Sticks. You can come here and do what Yelp is really all about which is trying new things and putting little places like this on the map.

Super easy to order, just order at the counter, the staff will give you a buzzer device, and you can pick up your order at the pick-up counter once the buzzer goes off. Be sure to grab seats early since the food court gets pretty crowded! And since it's a food court, it does get pretty loud (which is a given). Boat Noodles were very flavorful, with each bite exploding with spice, warmth, and herbs. I love to put chili oil to give the broth more of a kick, but even without any chili oil, the dish is already spicy as is.

We tried two different types of noodles...red kapoon and regular pho, plus some purple sticky rice. The red kapoon is a spicy with a hint of pickled flavor, it's complex and tasty. The pho is very rich and also extremely well flavored, with a hint of toasted garlic. Both really hit the spot on a cold morning, and we would get both again. The purple sticky rice was perfect for our toddler to much on, she loved it. Prices are extremely reasonable and service is quick. The food court was not very busy at 9 am but most of the restaurants were open. We will definitely be back!

I loved it! The fish was nicely battered and fried and the curry flavor was delicious. The Thai tea had a strong tea flavor that compliments the sweetness. I like tea in general so those who don't like a strong tea flavor might not like it as much. I sampled my friends pork belly pho and tri color. The pork belly was nicely crispy with the pho broth and the tri color was different from the ones I had before and thought it was okay but would get the Thai tea over that personally. There was plenty of seating options and I overheard them be very accommodating to a family with kids while eating too. My biggest critique is the restroom, it's located down a flight of stairs and its door was broken from the frame so the sign was to make sure to knock before opening. I didn't run into any encounters while in there but I can see someone not reading and just opening as well. So would recommend getting that fixed asap.

Ordered for delivery. What came was a huge portion of #7 "Pad Kee Mao" Drunkard's Noodles (wide…read morenoodles stir fried with chili pepper, garlic, sweet basil and onions in special spicy Thai Sauce). 1 of there most popular dishes. I added Pork Belly and that's where they missed. The noodles were great, had that spicy flavor, good quantity etc, but sadly the pork belly was over cooked and dried out. Couldn't eat 75% of it, I ate a few just because I wanted some protein, but passed on the rest. Cutting them up in such small portions made them dry out. Since I ordered delivery, couldn't just have them quickly remake it. So not sure I'll try the pork belly again, but will give them another try with shrimp or a different item all together.

When you are sitting in your hotel room and your stomach is rumbling, come here and get an order of home-cooked Hmong food! They automatically pack it to-go. We have had the purple sticky rice, pork belly, chicken quarters (chinese bbq style), sticky rice sausage, mustard greens, and hot pepper. It is ALL good. Staff is very friendly. Food may seem pricey, but for the quality and quantity, it is a fair deal. Try to go before 4pm so you can get some meat before they sell out for the day! Also, the woman who runs this booth speaks English, so no worries if you don't know any Hmong like me!
