You will have to park on the street since there is no parking lot we could find, but there's usually plenty of street spots so you won't have to walk too far. Food was pretty good. We tried their Oyster Wings which had a delicious flavor to it! The Fried Rice was seasoned to perfection. The Beef Sautéed Potato's was not my favorite, I was expecting to get chunks of potatoes. I was excited by all the high ratings but unfortunately my experience was only meh, ok. The good - the fried stuff - stuffed checked wings and shrimp tempura. The meh- pho and pad Thai. The bad - the laab! So disappointed. She asked me if I wanted raw and bitter. I said cooked and not bitter. What came out was soooo spicy I could not even eat it. And it was sweet! Food tasted ok but the servers messed up my order. I originally ordered Khao Poon and the Mama's Stuffed Sausage. They came out with Mama's Stuffed Chicken Wings and said they are out of Khao Poon. I came in at noon/opening so I don't understand why they are already out. So they've delivered the rest of my party's food and then when I tried to flag them down for a new order, it took 10 mins just for them to come back. I was ready to order again after 2 mins. (Basically, by the time I get my new order, everyone is done eating.) So I order the Lok Lak combo but asked for no shrimp, trying to substitute it for beef (so basically, chicken, pork, and beef). The lok lak came out with 4 pieces of shrimp and no chicken. The food was fine so I'm rating food at 4 stars. The service could have been better, I believe I ordered my items clearly. There isn't much seating and you pick your own table. I guess because we picked the table in the corner that the service wasn't the best. I don't know but I probably won't come back. We've eaten there every few months since they opened. It's gotten worse every time. Very slow service. Actually very little service; today we waited a very long time for our food. Not only was the food amazing, our waitress Dasia ( or Deja as in de ja vu, as she said ) was so patient and helpful when explaining the menu to us! She really made our experience trying Laotian food for the first time absolutely wonderful!! With the road work going on, it was a bit of a struggle to get to the restaurant and SO WORTH IT. The sticky rice was WONDERFUL and an experience on its own; the egg soda was so different and delicious I would recommend it to anyone. My sons were both blown away by the flavor in the Mango Boba and the Sesame Chicken. I will come back again next time I visit Saint Paul. Five stars 100%. read more

Kong's Kitchen is an Eastside gem in Saint Paul! The pho is amazing! By far the best I have had in the twin cities! The only condiment I added to it was their house made chili oil which is amazing! The fried rice is delicious and such a classic! Mama's stuffed chicken wings were amazing as well and let's not forget the vegetable egg rolls! They were perfection in every bite! Decided I wanted to try a different style of an Asian restaurant.. we walked in and ordered and when the food showed up we were very disappointed. I ordered garlic pepper chicken and the portions were ridiculous. The bowl was filled up with a huge amount of green peppers and we counted 5 little pieces of chicken. The pieces were very small. I had to ask for a side order of pepper chicken just to even get close to a meal. There was also no pepper taste to the chicken. We will never return here again and be warned they charge extra fees without even disclosing it on the receipt. I had to ask why the charge was higher than the bill. They said ATM fee!!! Really lol. You have to by law disclose all charges to the customer. Do yourself a favor and go to another place. You also can't get in to this place due to construction so strike 3 for this place. Stoped here for a quick bite before an event. Was craving Thai food and couldn't have chosen a better spot. In the Pad See Ew the broccoli was the right amount of crunch but soft. And they were not shy with their portion sizes(especially for a great price). Tofu in the dish was perfection. let my Partner try some tofu for the first time, perfect first impression spot for tofu. The fried rice was delicious, can't go wrong with that dish. The Wait staff was incredibly kind and loved striking a conversation. Very calm and mellow inside with pretty decorations. Saturday Lunchtime and service was great, food came out pretty fast and piping fresh!! I had the Pad Thai combo- chicken and pork.. it was really amazing and delicious!! I also like that only for a dollar more you can add up to 3 proteins. I also ordered a side of sticky rice, it was done perfectly! And as I always do I also ordered an order of cream cheese puffs, they made them perfectly, to be honest one of the items most restaurants seem to not master is frying the fried wonton, so I love how they did such a wonderful job here!! Excellent food and service! Spring rolls were crunchy and delicious! Crispy chicken wings were outstanding...they kind of reminded me of Bonchon crispy chicken (which is a high compliment!). I enjoyed every bite of my Pork Noodle Salad: the roasted pork was moist and perfectly seasoned, the noodles were different (more like a wheat noodle?) but still delish! The different sauce on the noodle salad was called "fish sauce" but they must make their own since it wasn't like another sauce that I've ever eaten. I should rate this place with no stars but the music was very good. Which is the only thing that was appeasing. First let's get into the fact that the customer service was terrible, from the first encounter the lady in the front didn't greet us and rudely told us to seat ourselves. So we did, the server which happened to be the cashier took forever in a day to take our order (it was not busy during this time). Once our food came out, which a side note, my boyfriend ordered three things and they all came out in a reasonable time. My one order of chicken lo mien took almost 30 minutes to arrive and it was the worst thing we ordered. Somehow the chicken tasted very burnt and the noodles itself were very gummy. The Oyster chicken was okay, but it was over seasoned. The chicken egg rolls were the only thing we finished. i seen this place on Instagram and had high hopes, it is not the expectation we hoped, not to mention the prices are a little higher for Asian cuisine. I waited 30 mins for 3 Boba drinks and a pho to go order. I live 20 mins away and when I got home, I found the pearls in my Boba drinks frozen. I called them and they blamed it on how cold the drinks were. I was very disappointed with the customer service and their response. I also ordered a special pho but didn't find any tendon, brisket, or tripe. Just meat balls and thinly sliced beef. The broth was dark and tasted decent but not very good. I can't lie- I used to really enjoy this place. I've gotten it a number of times mostly on Uber eats. Every time I feel like the portions have gotten smaller and smaller. I visited with my co-workers on a snowy day! When we entered, we were greeted right away and got to choose our table. It was not busy at all so our food came out pretty quick. One of my coworkers and I originally wanted to order their Kapoon and Kao piek, so we were bummed out to find that they didn't have these menu items available that day. We both decided to order the combo pho, which was pretty standard and good. The oyster wings were delicious--it had a nice crunch and flavor to them. The shrimp rolls weren't extraordinary--it's a shrimp wrapped in an eggroll wrapper--but it wasn't bad either. The cream cheese puffs had a tint of sweetness to it without the dipping sauce, which I liked because I prefer them sweet. I didn't get to really try the pad thai, but my co-worker thought it was flavorful and enjoyed it (she rated it a 8.9 out of 10). Overall, our server was nice and friendly. I'm pretty sure they were also controlling the music--their playlist had us singing and dancing along (Me & U by Cassie will always be a BOP!) I'm glad we visited this place for lunch since I drive past it every time on my way to work and have always been curious about it. I'd visit again to try their Kao piek!
