Found this quaint little Thai restaurant while rolling through Maplewood. Tucked away in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking. Ambiance: Small, clean, no frills Thai restaurant that gets busy with takeout orders. There were tables and booths for seating. It took a few minutes to get seated, as the main server was sitting at the back table, eating. When she finished, she got me seated. The goods: I rate Thai restaurants on Kao Soi or Pad Thai. I chose Kao Soi with chicken and shrimp and the fresh spring rolls. Both were just okay. The food came out VERY QUICKLY, like 5-7 minutes. The spring rolls were filled with lettuce. Very little noodles or meat. There was tons of cilantro. The sauce was decent. The Kao Soi was not very flavorful. It was mostly coconut milk as the broth. Not much curry. The chicken was tender, the shrimp were over cooked and rubbery. I washed it down with a Pepsi. At $27 total, I think I prefer Lotus in the Loring neighborhood, better quality, more flavor and cheaper. Can't say I'd visit again. If so, I'd try the pad Thai. read more

I got take out and the shrimp was delicious and the sauce was very good! I've only had spicy drunken noodles before and this version had zero spice. It was quite bland. The noodles and ingredients were prepared well but it could have used more spiciness. If you prefer spicier drunken noodles, ask when ordering. We have ordered food from here many times over the past several years. They have gone down hill with their ability to make your food with the spiciness you chose online. Recently the "meat" is disgusting" super fatty, chewy.... Gross. I do not recommend you order from here unless you try an all vegan dish. read more

The food alone is decent. Not anything to travel for. We went on a Tuesday night. That might be why service struggled. Our spring rolls came out, but no plates or utensils to eat with. We sat and looked at our spring rolls. . . we sat and looked at our spring rolls. . . I finally went to the server station to get plates. My friend and I both ordered curry. Red and green. The red curry was twice the size of the meager green curry. When I asked the young server why they were different sizes, she shrugged her shoulders and disappeared to the kitchen. This is my absolute favorite Thai restaurant and one that I ask for constantly! You can tell they actually make the tea for their Thai tea, the flavor is the best I've ever tried. Their pad see ew is my absolute favorite dish, I can finish an entire plate by myself. They use the perfect sauce combination--no strong maggi flavor!! I also love their beef salad, it's almost like namtok--perfectly sour and spicy. And their basil fried rice is also sooooooo good!! Of course, we also love their curry. We've had both the Panang and the Masaman and have had enough to bring home leftovers! Their service is top-tier, they're so friendly and quick. I've never been disappointed by them. The location is usually one with quite a quick turnover, we were sad to see the Korean restaurant retire and were definitely pleasantly surprised by this place!! A small dining room but never too noisy or too quiet. 10/10 would recommend and go again. read more

This was my birthday lunch meal. I had been craving authentic green curry for the longest time. Based on my location, this was a top rated Thai restaurant. The prices were reasonable as well. We were seated right away. There were only two other customer in the establishment. It was only 11am. We received our waters and the waitress took our order right away. It took about 20-25 minutes for our order to come out. The green curry was perfectly seasoned; not too sweet or spicy. The bowl looked plain but the flavors exploded in my mouth. You can taste and smell the spices. I love that they put in Thai green egg plants and bamboo shoots. I've had Thai food in the Twin Cities and they just have random vegetables. So I really appreciated it. The chicken breast were tender and soaked up the curry. I also like that the curry was not too dense or watery. My husband ordered the beef laab. We were hoping for a salty, sour, spicy combination but it was sweet. The sticky rice that was paired with it had a slight sweetness with coconut flavoring. Flavors that we were not used to. I wished it was just plain sticky rice like how Laotian would serve it. Nonetheless, he completed the meal with no complaint. More people entered the establishment and the waitress stopped coming around. Our waters were never refilled. She did drop off the check then off she went. The little Thai fortune cookies were so good. It was lightly sweetened and crispy. So much better than the Chinese fortune cookies. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch. It was a very clean establishment. The location was easily spotted and in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. The menu was clear and the pictures helped us with ordering. Our waitress spoke English and so kind. This place has so much potential it's unfortunate my review isn't 5 stars. I was excited when I saw that they had pad see ew on the menu and upon first glance my food looked great. However, idk why they do this, but the food is intentionally charred. I hate that taste; I just about barfed. Also they don't have peanut sauce. What authentic Thai restaurant doesn't sell peanut sauce? That was a red flag I should not have overlooked. read more

This was fantastic. We didn't eat there but got an order to go which fit oh so conveniently in my back pack. Food was actually ready before the time specified. Was super hot and ready to eat when I got home. The red curry was incredible. Absolutely delicious. I got the medium spice which was plenty fine for a white dude like myself. We decided to try this restaurant after One night when we smelled them from chipotle! It so good, and I wish I can say the same for their food. We order the drunken noodles with tofu, the green curry with beef, and the cream cheese wontons. The drunken noodles were pretty bland and the tofu was tough , the curry was salty and lacking a lot of depth one expects From a curry, the beef was also tough , we Didn't even finish it. I tried the pad see ew the first time and it was delicious. Came out super hot (temperature) which I love. Also, spice was on the spicy side but hey, this is Thai food, so they're doing it right. I would say the spice levels are on the spicier side here so if you don't do hot, go medium or mild. Also, I like the fact they use Chinese broccoli adds a nice crunch and a different taste. Despite the low rating, my husband and I decided to give this place a shot after a coworker had highly recommended it and I am so happy we did! We got the red curry and lo mein with medium spice and a side of the Thai fried rice and it was so tasty! The medium heat was perfect for us, not quite noes running level. I have fallen in love with the Pad See Ew, and have had it with both chicken and pork. Service is always good and friendly, and they are willing to customize the dish any way you want it. Spring rolls were fresh and tasty. Chicken satay was a tad dry for my liking. Lunch mates ordered pineapple fried rice and basil fried rice. Quite tasty and generous.
