Beware! There is a reason why this store doesn't have any customers. I had a return on the 6th day of purchase, was told there was no returns after 5 days and did I read my receipt? Did not want a store credit from such a rude and nasty lady. Everything in store is way over priced. Bought a wheelchair at a thrift store for $33.00. They will rent you a wheelchair for $35.00 per month and assume no responsibility for that chair. Don't waste your time with overpriced items and rude cashier. read more

We bought an item back after asking specifically if we could bring it back if it did not fit and the young man said yes of course you can bring it back. I would not have bought it otherwise. They refused to take it back and give us a refund. The woman cashier was very rude, unprofessional and crabby. We will never go back there and would not recommend this company. read more

I have been using HMP medical for a few years and have never had a problem in their store. The staff is always courteous and very helpful, and they will get any item you wish for you if they do not have it in stock. They have provided many quality items for my elderly mom for many years and have even repaired a wheelchair for me that we did not purchase there. I wish my mom's current insurance would use HMP as a supplier for her new chair, because wherever it is being delivered from ... well, we've been waiting since September just before Irma, and it is now May, almost June. But I digress. Just wanted to thank HMP for years of great service, and the convenient location makes everything so much easier. read more

One star for service, one for value. The employee was rude to my husband on the phone and even ruder then we got there. She acted like we were imposing on her time. Towards the end of checking out I had to leave the store and let my husband handle it as I was so upset by the way she was talking to him. I Give HMP on Cortez, Bradenton zero stars. I recently purchased a "boot" which turned out not to be needed per my M.D. Hoped they would be kind enough to allow me to return it, they were not, store policy. I chose not to argue with the female who I assume was the person in charge as the clerk had her come from out back. I brought to her attention the thank you card in with the product, it stated "THANK YOU FOR SHOPPING WITH SUPERIOR BRACES ON AMAZON. IF YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH YOUR PURCHASE PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR POSITIVE FEEDBACK THROUGH YOUR AMAZON ACCOUNT." AMAZON SELLS THIS BRACE FOR $45.00, I WAS CHARGED $159.00. I showed this card to the employee who closed her eyes briefly and stated " I don't do the buying". How many other items are bought through Amazon and quadrupled in price to sell to the public. I am very dissatisfied with the service received from HMP Medical. I would never recommend anyone to purchase or work with this company. You sold a used piece of equipment for almost full price and would not transfer the purchase to a rental which is your business. You rent out equipment to individuals; therefore, you have a need to have equipment on hand and can add revenue to your bottom line. But instead of considering an unfortunate situation of a death of customer, you turn a blind eye in providing an solutions to assist. I will never do business with this company and continue to post on social media the negative inconsiderate experience I had today. My only option was to rate one star. Let me first say that I work in the customer service field myself. I I understand people have off days, however, I have not had such a poor experience like this in a long time. Walking in to this location I felt unwelcome and like I was A bother. I was the only customer in the store and after a few moments the woman broke away from her stocking to greet me with "can I help you". I replied with my usual "good morning" greeting when I speak to ANYONE. The conversation quickly declined from there. She barked a few questions at me and was quick to let me know how she could NOT help. Body language and tone was very rude. I'm sure this is a privately owned business and the owner would not Appreciate their customers being treated like that. Thank goodness we have options, I will chose to go where I'm treated kindly and appreciated. Funny how you omitted the comment of " either rent it or don't " when I questioned the 7 day rental only being 6 days. As far as ruining your reputation keep treating customers the way I was treated and you will do it on your own. I for one will not give your business another chance to be rude. UPDATE: One can interpret ones own Surveillance footage as one wishes I as the customer ACTUALLY involved in the conversation ACTUALLY knows how it was said and How it was meant and if you ACTUALLY listened to the recorded conversation you would have also heard your female employees also complaining how you lack the skill set to replace you worn out computer system. Wish I could give this staff a -5 star. People with this much meanness should not be working in a store that caters to the infirmed or disabled. They delight in giving people nasty attitudes and rudeness. I can only hope one day, they or their loved one need medical supplies and they run into the mean, rude, and unprofessional attitude they exhibit. And either "Charlie" the owner either doesn't know or doesn't care about their hateful behavior....it's a shameful situation. I stopped at HMP to get a repair on my aunt's walker. They were incredibly polite and helpful! The repair man came out, looked at the walker and discovered that the brakes and handles were put on backwards. He reversed them, adjusted the brakes to be sure they were gripping properly and did not even charge me! Great customer service! read more

I went in yesterday afternoon with a prescription from my son's doctor. The prescription is very specific. "Aircast Sport Ankle Brace/ Right " . We were not given the correct brace, which we wouldn't have known if he hadn't had a follow up today. When I called - I was told that the brace that they sold me was the same thing . After speaking with the doctor and looking at the picture of the brace he ordered, I now know that I was lied to. There is a huge difference in the braces. I paid cash - big mistake - or I would cancel payment. If you run a business that specializes in health products - then your employees need to know how to sell what is on the prescription - or just say you don't carry it. The doctor is the one prescribing, not you. I will NEVER enter this store again. read more

Only providing one star because it made me give something. Not normally one to write a review but even with the advise I was provided by the staff I received an item that did not fit. When I took it back to the store they refused to return my money or offer a different product. I was advised that my satisfaction was guaranteed however I a very much not satisfied with the service nor the advise I received. Will be advising my clients to shop elsewhere. Beware if renting items from HMP. I rented a knee scooter for 6 weeks. The day I was getting my cast off it literally fell apart. The knee pad completely broke off. There was rust on the shaft that held the knee pad. Inspect whatever you rent very carefully. Fortunately I was in my bedroom when this happened and not the driveway or parking lot! I injured my knee and shoulder when the scooter broke, which is now hindering my walking rehab for my ankle surgery. I was charged for 8 weeks but used it for 6. No offer to prorate the last two weeks and attitude was "oh well". Won't be going back. read more

TOTAL RIPOFF....mom called to tell them that her cable came out of the handle for her break on her walker and asked how much it would be to fix it. The man stated that it was nine dollars and 90 something cents. figuring $10 was a nice fair price we drove a total of a 20 mile round-trip to have it fixed and they also stated it would be approximately 10 minutes and we could wait. upon arriving I was told that the price was $26.00 and some change. I stated that was not what we were quoted. The lady said that did not include labor which we were not told so I said let me go ask Mom if she wants to pay that much. upon reentering the building I told the lady mom was not happy but go ahead and fix it, the walker was already finished and it took less than five minutes so at this rate of charging $15 for less than a five minute job this gentleman is charging approximately $180 for for labor, this is such a total ripoff I told the lady we would not ever be back and that this was a horrible way to treat a first time customer, she stated everything that we've done for you putting you ahead of other people (which we did not ask) and to me more than double charging is not doing everything for a customer these people should be out of business do not go there beware it's a total rip off read more
