I had a great spot along a babbling brook that helped put me to sleep and gently woke me up in the morning. As I walked around almost everyone said help to me and were openly friendly as we chatted. There shower and bath facilities were clean and modern, even the smaller building on the far end was a toilet and not a hole in the ground. they were clean and did not smell at all, I don't even think I saw any bugs in any of them. There was wood on site for purchasing and i think I saw a pop machine but I am not sure, also there was no snack shop but that was not a concern for me. I would recommend this place to anyone and I plan on going back, the sooner the better!

One room had dirty towels at check-in and a shower that didn't drain water (water level stayed above the ankle the whole time). The other room had some bad unidentified smell at check-in that never went away. We were responsible for taking out and dumping our own trash and used Walmart bags as liners. The best part of the stay was the daily free breakfast downstairs.

Bonus: they have dedicated non pet rooms for folks who have dander allergies, but a highlight for me was they also had several pets welcome rooms and my two dogs were welcome with zero hassle!

Yeah people, most folks who stay in hotel/motel rooms plan to sleep. I would not recommend anyone staying there unless you have packed ear plugs. As such, you have the choice of very expensive B&Bs or this little gem. It is located just as you come into town, on highway 52. It is straight out of the 1940s, with its welcoming patch of petunias, log cabin exterior on the office and chairs outside each room's door, but that is only its exterior and it adds to it charm. The hostess and owner of the hotel, Patty, checks you in with an actual key, not plastic card. My room was a queen bed room that faced the street. I don't know what type of windows she has, but I never heard street noise. The bed is very comfortable with MyPillow pillows, so making them comfortable was a snap. There is a nice sized fridge for yogurt or beer and a clean microwave for warming things. There is also a coffee maker for a morning jolt. The bathroom is small and the location of the a/c unit for the room. The bathroom is completely new and very clean. She provides 4 towels, 3 hand towels and 2 wash cloths as well as shampoo, soap and conditioner. There is a nicely scented air-freshener in there as well. I was happy there was a wall mounted, flat screen TV to relax with as well as a nice table and chair if you wanted to do some writing. The WiFi is strong and reliable. There is not an actual closet, but there is a rod over the fridge where you can hang things. That is also where an extra pillow and blanket can be found. There is a lovely patio/deck at the back of the motel for guest's use. There is a firepit and BBQ grill if you are so inclined or just want to have a glass of wine and relax. The motel is within walking distance of the local Casey's and the Stadium Bar and Grill is right next door. If you are feeling like a good stretch of the legs, the downtown riverwalk is less than half a mile away and the roads are quite safe to walk. I would love to see the colors of the hillside, across the road from it, shows off in the Fall!

The owner, I presume, checked us in and assured us we would be happy with the room. We opened the door and immediately you could smell the "clean". What a nice room!
