Their sandwhiches are awesome. My only complaint is that they aren't open later for dinner and have very limited weekend hours (only a few hours on Saturday). If you have the chance though, give them a try. They're cheaper than Panera and the quality is even better. read more

Okay, I went to Hoageez again today and got a Nbr 5 sub. The service was polite but you have to wait a while to get your sub. I would rate the sub good to very good, but I'Ve definitely had better. What they have going for them is the variety of sub combinations. They have several subs I like to try but probably won't because I don't want to eat in my car if the four seats are in use! My wife and I tried to eat at Hoageez yesterday but decided not to because the 4 stools were in use. That is why I went back today alone. I guess the owners didn't like my Yelp review yesterday because they had Yelp take it down. I'm not sure why because I didn't complain about the place I just pointed out that they don't have any tables to sit at. It seems to me people might want to know. I went early today because the friend that told me about the place warned me that they sometimes hang out a "sold out" sign and close early. Also, be careful parking because there are only a few parking spots in front of the shop and very little room to back up without backing on to the road. read more

Stopped for lunch today. First time here. Great, friendly staff, but. Not blaming the staff, but I waited most of 30, yes, 30 minutes for my sandwich. I'm retired and have 30 minutes to spare, but this wait puzzles me. At my age I've ordered food at many deli's all over, and can't recall ever waiting this long. If you call ahead and they tell me 45 minutes, no problem. And quite honestly, if they told me 30 minutes up front when ordering at the counter, I wouldn't have even ordered. And I would come back at another time. From a business standpoint, you've got to take care of your in house customers. If you are not, then the owners have an understaffed team. Never waited more than 15 at The Sandwich Man. So, sadly Hoageez, you will have to be chopped! read more

I can't believe it took me a year to go here. Charming colors and music with a neat colorful chalkboard full of hoagie styles. The staff is sweet and kind and work quickly and effectively. The hoagie can be fully loaded but comes out neat and easy to handle and eat and not spill its contents everywhere. More importantly it tastes great. Don't go to the subway down the street. I use to go to Hoageez at least once a week. Lately they have declined greatly. This lat trip there will be my last for a long while. They need to get some better help or something. If you call in an order for a certain time you better make for earlier than you wanted because no matter what you are going to have to wait. Disappointed, not with the rolls, which are awesome, or the selection of sandwiches, there are some authentic Philly combinations. I say that having grown up in a Philly suburb. I had been a customer there 3-4 times prior to today, when I thought I'd give the online ordering a try, very simple to place our order, and they didn't ask for so much info that I felt they were invading my privacy. BUT my order was wrong, the order slip the counter helper read me was correct, I payed and off I went. Only to find out when I got home 20 mins later we didn't get what we ordered, the sandwiches were good, mind you... just there was a lapse in either communication from the person that pulled my order slip or concentration in getting the order prepared right, perhaps because there were too many customers at that time or too little staff. I don't know. For the amount you pay ( way above subway), you expect the excellent quality and correctness that you are paying for. :( read more

Bread from Philly is great...I wish it wasn't Dietz & Watson cold cuts they could do better at the prices they charge. Don't walk in when they are busy because you will be cut by all the Phone and internet orders they take. The add on's (hot pepper spread) are a bit pricey go with the upgraded subs instead and save a few cents read more

Pretty amazing that you can get a quality sub like this in little ol' Hummelstown, PA. We order on line and the subs are ready when we ask for them. The subs are huge and a great value for the $$. The ingredients are super fresh and the rolls are outstanding (I recommend the hard crust). And, the staff is courteous and gracious. Around lunch time, the place gets crowded but they manage the lines very well and frankly, what minor wait there is, is well worth it. This place really is a hidden gem. I have dieted for 9 months and treated myself when I lost a pound below my goal. Wasn't sure what my treat was going to be until I read the reviews of Hoageez! Even with a GPS, I almost didn't find the place. It is small and unassuming from the outside, situated in a little strip beside a laundromat, but the inside is HUGE with flavors!!! Oh my gosh, I can honestly say that I have never had a better sub ANYWHERE and that includes extensive travel! There were about 24 subs to choose from, soft or hard roll (we got the hard) and "naked" and they are LARGE! I got the Rocky and husband got the American Italian with extra cheese. We took them back home to eat as the place was packed with people waiting for their orders, which were flying out the door! Neither of us could eat more than half and saved the rest for another treat later tonight. I don't even know if there are enough adjectives to explain how great these subs are! We drove from York to the Hershey area just to get one and I would drive an even greater distance if they moved!!!! You MUST try these subs! Order ahead if you can (I think you can do it online and by phone) We didn't but our wait was reasonable even though they were extremely busy. Everything is VERY fresh and you will salivate from the wonderful aromas while you are waiting! Again, you must try these sandwiches. Oh so wonderful! read more
