I have visited several times recently looking for parts for RC aircraft. They have two employees that are kind, smell like ash trays and not knowledgeable, one young man is vulgar and the owner seems as though he wishes he was somewhere else. I brought my two young daughters here to buy an electric train to go under our Christmas tree. We ended up buying a $400 Lionel train set. Yes, $400 dollars. They were very excited. Upon getting home and opening the set, we found that parts were missing, as well as the fact that it didn't seem to function properly. I called the store the next day and the owner was very rude on the phone. He kept mentioning how busy he was because it was the holiday season. He absolutely refused to help in any way, shape, or form. He did say he "might be able to find the number for Lionel" so that I could call the manufacturer myself. I was literally speechless. I have heard that the owner has bad customer service. Now I know for sure. I will never step foot in this store again. The store itself is nice and charming. But be aware, if you have any issues with a product, even if you just spent hundreds of dollars, you will not only get zero help, the owner will talk down to you as if you are an idiot. I moved to oakdale nov 2017 and discovered this hobby shop in town. The store is well stocked and organized with soo many hobby stuff, models and model paints, train sets, rc cars, rc parts, drones, arts and crafts etc. Im into gunpla (gundam kits) and was surprised to see they have a good selection of them. Unfortunately this store is very expensive which is why i give it 3 stores. With the likes of amazon with prime shipping and the owners bad attitude from past reviewers i feel this store wont stick around that long. If you need to come in and get small stuff then its fine but anything else like models or rc planes/cars, train sets then you are better off going online to amazon or some other websites which will have better prices. Their gundam kits are priced too expensive and i will just order from amazon or my other toy sites instead....... read more

I went there today with my friend to purchase watercolors but they sold only student grade paints ..we purchased a brush but regretted it because as Kevin D wrote in his review...the owner was so very rude and we too wondered how he stayed in business. I'm always polite. and my friend was inquiring about the classes available ..both of us trying to have a fun shopping day.But the owner was determined to show us an attitude that was so rude. His argumentative dismissive tone was not suitable for customer service. He even hurried out the door before we could finish asking about the classes which he said were too full and he did not have a way to notify us of future classes. I thought this hobby shop was a cool little place until I bought two different planes in which I found were open and went through. One plane was missing parts! When I went to get my money back the people gave me hassle and tried to not to give the funds back. The owner lectured me for 30 minutes straight treating me like I was dumb and was a bad person for asking a question. I have also found he opens and goes thru the brand new planes which would not make them new anymore and not worth the asking price. I will not be returning to this place again. read more

These guys are wonderful. With C 19 Stay-at-home going on, I decided to build an RC Airplane... for two reason. The first being of course that Ive never done it and always wanted to. The second was a tribute to my dad, a pilot, (me too) who learned to fly in a WWII era Tiger Moth. I bought a larger, balsa, more detailed kit on-line and went to work. Learning as went it became apparent quickly that I was out of my depth. I bought a few essentials at this store, then when it was time to buy the battery and electronics, I went back. THEY LISTENED to what I wanted, and rather than make a sale, and stick me for a ton of cash, knowing full well it would probably be destroyed on its first flight or soon after, actually talked me in finishing this one as a tribute, and later, better armed with knowledge and what I was getting into, enter the RC world in a more practical way and cost effective way. They did not have to do that. They could easily have sold me anything at all. They helped me stay true to my original plan, and now I have something to look at when I think of my dad. Their business ethic is in line with mine, with my way of thinking. I will definitely be shopping here in the future. Much appreciated! read more

Stopped by yesterday on the way home from Kennedy Meadows. I've been in many an art store, and more than a few hobby shops in my time, but this was a delight. I haven't seen a selection like this in years. When all you have around you is big box craft stores, you forget how awesome a real hobby shop can be. From train track and rocket kits to acrylic paints and yarn, everyone in our party found great items and decent prices. The owner was courteous and obviously very experienced- he knows exactly what to stock. We will be back! read more

This store has everything you need for whatever hobby or craft you are into - from model planes to knitting. The place is jam packed with great stuff. I like to simply wander down the aisles and always manage to find something new. read more
