Holly greeted us as we entered, and she didn't even bat an eye as my enthusiastic toddler made her way through all the treasures that happened to be at her eye level. We had a decent sized group of each age, and we came at the right time for us to comb through the store and all find things we loved! We planned to make our own malas and found wonderfully priced strings of stones and all sorts of different strings, glass beads, metal accessories, tumbled stones, bells, and bags, and trinkets galore. What a lovely store ran by such a gem of a person, Holly was so helpful and kind as she interacted with each of us. Her prices are very fair, and her reason being so that many won't feel turned away from finding what they're meant to! For myself, I went with a string of fluorite, lavender jade, and phosphosiderite, and a gorgeous rose carved fresh water pearl to make my mala. I cannot wait to come back to this store and purchase more beads and visit with Holly again. He absolutely refused to help in any way, shape, or form. He did say he "might be able to find the number for Lionel" so that I could call the manufacturer myself. I was literally speechless. I have heard that the owner has bad customer service. Now I know for sure. I will never step foot in this store again. The store itself is nice and charming. But be aware, if you have any issues with a product, even if you just spent hundreds of dollars, you will not only get zero help, the owner will talk down to you as if you are an idiot. As with the shopfronts of the past, the owner lives upstairs, and will advise her customers that they can call if she's popped upstairs during business hours. The owner (I think her name is Pamela, but I've lost the business card.) takes yarn VERY SERIOUSLY. I recently went in for a gift for a relative who had made me a very large afghan. I wanted to buy the relative a fancy yarn that would be a pleasure for her to make something for herself. The owner asked me more questions than I even knew the answers to, and together we arrived at a beautiful wine colored yarn of a sort of silken material. It was a little dear, but I think the yarn will be a lovely scarf or shawl. The owner will answer ANY questions that you have. I don't think there's anything about knitting or crocheting that she doesn't know. Of course she teaches as well. In keeping with the classic theme, there is no Internet portal with which to access the store. I was told that if the owner had a computer it would probably be flying out of her upstairs window in short order. But, really, shouldn't we leave the house and meet our retailers sometimes? I just had the worst experience at this store. The owner and another employee stood at the counter…read moreand talked poorly of previous customers almost the entire hour I was there. The store was so messy and so disorganized it took me a long time to get through the racks and try to find my size in what I did find. There were two very small dressing rooms. One of the dressing rooms was full of clothes and not even usable. There were three of us wanting to try on clothes. I had family visiting and really wanted my mother and sister to have a good experience. The mirror outside the dressing room was covered by a rack, two boxes, and a huge pile of clothes. It was like this the last time I was there too. In order for us to see what we were trying on, I carefully slide the full length mirror (light weight and unsecured) out from behind the piled up mess and carefully leaned it against a four way rack weighed down by more clothes. While I was in the dressing room the owner came by and chewed my sister out about moving the mirror, repeating herself over and over. It was SO rude and unprofessional. My poor sister was so upset. She didn't even know I had moved the mirror. I'll never shop there again or encourage anyone do support this store.
