Listen the way they put their heart and soul in my wings yesterday and fried them just the way that I asked, I may have to go back today. I'd called in my order and was asked about my car description. When I pulled up they had curbside parking spots allocated for that purpose and shortly after a young lady came out, confirmed my name and took my payment. Very obviously a popular spot amongst Seminole fans, the whole bar is furnished with FSU swag. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. From salads, to sandwiches, to their impressive burger menu, they have it all! I ordered the Froto Burger which was an excellent choice. The burger tasted great and was cooked perfectly. The meat was obviously of high quality. The fries lacked slightly in flavor but were otherwise quite tasty. Visited for game day and the food was just as good as any other time. I always go for the garnet and gold wings because they're just amazing if you like a bit of a kick. You have to get the order with a side of ranch, it's a bit watered down which I personally enjoy. The curly fries are a must as well. The only reason I'm not giving this spot five stars is due to the service. It took at least 30 minutes to get greeted by someone to take my order, but again it might be due to FSU game day. At the same time you would think they would make it a priority to be fully staffed on game days. I ordered 15 wings, Garnet & Gold style. They were cooked well and were not over-sauced. I licked my fingers until the very last bite. My friend's burger and fries were very good - according to him. The slight hiccup was halfway through the meal. I asked if I could get some "celery or carrots" with my wings. The server replied with "blue cheese or ranch?" and I replied, "blue cheese, thanks." An order of celery and carrots came out a few minutes later and I immediately had the inclination I was going to be charged for them. When my check was handed to me, I noticed a charge of $3.25 for the "veggie plate" even though I wasn't aware of the up charge. If you know me, you know I'm no stickler. But c'mon, no celery and carrots with an order of wings? I ordered 15 for crying out loud! I think that's a little cheap on the business side of things. The server was super apologetic, and even offered to [paraphrasing] "sneak an extra blue cheese for you from the kitchen." It's just very tacky to think of a business being so dang frugal. We order from Hobbit quite regularly both eat in and delivery from door dash. I routinely get one item, the garnet and gold pork tots. Today, we were stuck at work so we ordered from door dash. When our meals arrived there was missing ingredients from both of the garnet and gold we ordered. Door dash compensated us $3.83, and when I contacted Hobbit I was told they could make it again but we would have to bring them back. They weren't concerned that we were unable to do that. I wish that I could post a picture of the meals. It was HORRIBLE. Stay away from this location - they don't care about customer service at all. Hobbit is my favorite wing place in Tallahassee! Sunday & Thursday they have traditional wing specials for $0.69/wing. I personally love their boneless wings. The medium fiesta ranch sauce is to die for! The only negative is some of the servers aren't that good. I'm not sure what's going on with the service lately. I eat here several times a week, all dine in. I've noticed the service is really sub-par, I thought this was an isolated instance however its become the norm instead of the exception. The servers disappear in the back room and have quit coming out and checking on the customer. They almost never get the order right, just missing little things, it's disappointing They will take your order, deliver the order but it's very hard to get any additional service. You most always have to ask one the people standing up front by the register, or one of the people sitting at a table behind the counter. I always assumed it's due to social distancing or they are afraid of exposure due to COVID. However lately I've come to realize it's a training and management issue. We Stopped in for lunch in advance of FSU basketball game. Place wasn't too busy. We perused the menus as it's been years since I've eaten here. I remember when it was Hobbit Hoagies back in the day. They had the best subs for tailgating at Doak. Not any subs on the menu any longer. We ordered - one fried chicken sandwich w curly fries and one black n blue burger with regular fries, an iced tea and a coke. Here's the rub - it took 40 minutes to get our food. Asked our server a couple of times for an update - they are really backed up in the kitchen. Also known as IN THE WEEDS! Tables that came in after us were receiving food - when I asked if we'd been forgotten, our server said, they're getting appetizers before their lunch so they come out faster. Most of the apps on the menu are hot so I can't buy that excuse. Our food finally arrived - the chicken sandwich was huge! Curly fries were were just warm. My burger tasted good even though it was med vs the med rare ordered. My straight cut fries were also like warm. No excuse for Luke warm fries. In the past the location was about half the size, now however the building has been improved and there are many flat screen tv's on the walls. During football seasons there is no better place to be then hobbits. Some of the many dishes that I get whenever I visit hobbits include but are not limited to: The Blue Shroom Burger, The Wings with garnet and gold sauce(best in Tallahassee) and I'm always there during their happy hour specials. My only gripe with Hobbits is that on some days, they can be incredibly slammed and slow, but that is to be expected in a college town. read more
