Listen the way they put their heart and soul in my wings yesterday and fried them just the way that I asked, I may have to go back today. I'd called in my order and was asked about my car description. When I pulled up they had curbside parking spots allocated for that purpose and shortly after a young lady came out, confirmed my name and took my payment. Very obviously a popular spot amongst Seminole fans, the whole bar is furnished with FSU swag. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. From salads, to sandwiches, to their impressive burger menu, they have it all! I ordered the Froto Burger which was an excellent choice. The burger tasted great and was cooked perfectly. The meat was obviously of high quality. The fries lacked slightly in flavor but were otherwise quite tasty. I ordered 15 wings, Garnet & Gold style. They were cooked well and were not over-sauced. I licked my fingers until the very last bite. My friend's burger and fries were very good - according to him. The slight hiccup was halfway through the meal. I asked if I could get some "celery or carrots" with my wings. The server replied with "blue cheese or ranch?" and I replied, "blue cheese, thanks." An order of celery and carrots came out a few minutes later and I immediately had the inclination I was going to be charged for them. When my check was handed to me, I noticed a charge of $3.25 for the "veggie plate" even though I wasn't aware of the up charge. If you know me, you know I'm no stickler. But c'mon, no celery and carrots with an order of wings? I ordered 15 for crying out loud! I think that's a little cheap on the business side of things. We order from Hobbit quite regularly both eat in and delivery from door dash. I routinely get one item, the garnet and gold pork tots. Today, we were stuck at work so we ordered from door dash. When our meals arrived there was missing ingredients from both of the garnet and gold we ordered. Door dash compensated us $3.83, and when I contacted Hobbit I was told they could make it again but we would have to bring them back. They weren't concerned that we were unable to do that. I wish that I could post a picture of the meals. It was HORRIBLE. Stay away from this location - they don't care about customer service at all. I'm not sure what's going on with the service lately. I eat here several times a week, all dine in. I've noticed the service is really sub-par, I thought this was an isolated instance however its become the norm instead of the exception. The servers disappear in the back room and have quit coming out and checking on the customer. They almost never get the order right, just missing little things, it's disappointing They will take your order, deliver the order but it's very hard to get any additional service. You most always have to ask one the people standing up front by the register, or one of the people sitting at a table behind the counter. I always assumed it's due to social distancing or they are afraid of exposure due to COVID. However lately I've come to realize it's a training and management issue. The wings from everyone's pictures looked really good and they said it was "The best wings in Tallahassee", and here I would disagree with that statement because they do not have the best wings. Most of the apps on the menu are hot so I can't buy that excuse. Our food finally arrived - the chicken sandwich was huge! Curly fries were were just warm. My burger tasted good even though it was med vs the med rare ordered. My straight cut fries were also like warm. No excuse for Luke warm fries. This Hobbit location used to be out favorite place to go..We loved the atmosphere, the staff, the food and the drinks. Just an overall awesome experience...Our last two visits were none of those. (Friday night) There seems to be a whole new group of waiters and waitresses. None of them seem happy to be there nor are as friendly as they used to be..The food is still decent, but you can definitely tell it's not as good as it used to be. Took forever to get our drinks. By the time they came, our dinner had come. We were over it...I know this location is short staffed, so we sympathize a little. Life has a way of surprising us in different ways. Some pleasant and some not so much. In my opinion, there are no surprises when it comes to Hobbit's. You expect it to be a sports bar with all of the wings and beer your heart could desire and that is exactly what they deliver. I do not think this is a bad thing because there are other establishments where I have to wonder if I will be able to catch every game on at least one of their 20+ TVs or if they really will have that cold brew on tap to go along with my hot BONE IN wings. This is definitely not the case with Hobbit's because they are a Tallahassee local favorite wearing their Seminole pride on every wall of the establishment. I have only been to their Pensacola St. location and can say with confidence that it pays great homage to the Seminoles especially if we are talking FSU students and alumni that love a variety of wings. What I think makes Hobbit's unique are their wing flavors (garnet and gold is a personal favorite) and their ability to maintain an authentic FSU feel. This place bleeds garnet and gold so they can instead focus their energy on the food. I also highly recommend checking into their wing special nights. I was recently here to watch the AFC championship and believe my wings were 57 cent a piece which is a steal this day and age. In summary, go out and give Hobbit's a try and I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Take a basket full of their wings, run a spear threw them, and toss them down the hatch.
