I had a great experience until got to the cash register. The cashier said hi..only because she had to. I asked if they offered a military discount and she snapped NO. As I was leaving the register I could hear that her demeanor changed with the next customer. Love the store...the other employees were all very nice. I like this craft store. It has a nice variety of home decor items, seasonal items, floral arrangement items, crafting items and so much more. They also tend to have nice sales. My major complaint is their cash register system seems dated and cashiers have to manually key in the items purchased vs just scanning the barcodes which can make checking out rather slow. If I have a crafting need, this is the store I would go to first. read more

And I found the ones I wanted here, though they only had three of them in stock. So three is the number I purchased. The store is clean, well stocked, neatly laid out and the young lady who rang up my purchase was pleasant. They have everything from model car projects to floral pieces. They have a wide variety of decor available as well. The prices are decent with the use of coupons. The staff are always helpful. Lots of cool items at fair prices, but if you're working on building a small business and love the idea of affordable crafts on sale, don't worry because when you get to the register they will no longer be on sale. Associates ring up every item manually and supposedly remember the discounts throughout their extensive selection of goods, not even code sheets at the register to indicate which items they need to discount. Coincidentally, today I bought a handful of items including two separate types that both advertised 40% off. Neither item was discounted (surprise, surprise they also happened to be the two most expensive) while two different cheaper items were discounted when there was no sign advertising a discount on them. I mentioned it to the cashier and she said she was told that the item I addressed wasn't on sale (btw, I was in the store 3 weeks ago and the same 40% off sign was still up, wonder how many people got told no OR how many associates have been misinformed). Kind of a mess. Looked forward to stocking up some crafts for these upcoming projects with a nice lil discount. Boofed again. Guess I'll just help Amazon get richer next time. We all got about five years left anyways. read more

This location is huge! I went at 9am on a Monday and it was still busy, but lines were efficient and I was happy to see COVID health precautions being taken. The store is organized and clean, but it could have been cause I went on a Monday morning but the staff was super friendly. One thing that could be improved upon would be the cart return - if you park far away there's nowhere to put them except walk all the way back inside. read more

This Hobby Lobby is really wonderful from the atmosphere to the selection of items for sale. It has cute signage, frames for every type of photo, arts supplies, furniture, fabric, arts and crafts for adults and children, and beautiful silk flowers which I have bought and add such loveliness to my home. I have been in Hobby Lobby's before but this particular store is definitely the best. It has a very open architectural area with lots of light. The set up is very fluid and it is keep extremely clean. It has a frame shop as well, with custom frames having so many options. I was helped by a manager, Eric, and he really went above and beyond. He helped me find a beautiful layout and was extremely professional and courteous, understanding how important my painting was to me. read more

Did you know that Hobby Lobby doesn't scan items? They manually enter each price. That item you love that had a 50% sale sign in the aisle, it's going to be rung up at full price if the cashier doesn't see it on the one sided 8x10 sale flyer at the register. Be sure to pay attention when they ring you up. I thought maybe it was just this Cary store that didn't use a scanner (there's a scanner at the register) None of them do. How many times a day do you think people don't pay attention and overpay? If we realized we paid too much later I bet most of us would shrug it off like we should've been paying attention and not go back for our $. I'd be willing to bet Hobby Lobby has thought this thru and they like it that way. Tonight I carefully picked out a canvas because there was a sign in the aisle that clearly said they were 50% off. I promise, I read it like 4 times to be sure. I didn't plan to get it but at 50% off it was a deal. At the register it wasn't listed on her tiny little flyer as on sale so she rang it up full price. I had her take it off and didn't get it. The woman in front of me was buying a craft kit for the tween girl that was with her. Cashier rang it up full price. The woman told her it was 50% off so the cashier looked at the flyer and said no and showed the woman. That woman hesitantly bought that $30 kit anyway. Kinda feels like a setup. Lastly, their websites FAQs say scanners aren't right for them at this time. *whispers* there's a scanner at the register. read more

I have to say the manager who runs this one needs training in customer relations. I was returning item in a decent sized line and customers who were wanting to pay were in 2 lines. There were workers just hanging as well as the manager. I remarked to another customer that they need to get more help for cashiers. The manager, who was not a part of the conversation, made a defensive reply, "No, there doesn't!" Wow, I replied, "Excuse me." My return was made and Cary store just lost a couple of hundred of my consumer spending. I will drive elsewhere for my Hobby Lobby needs tomorrow. Yeah, if the manager would have just left it alone, but I am guessing by 1 p.m. she has had a long day. I will be calling their corporate which I generally do not do. read more

We don't have time to waste but some stores don't believe this. Scenario: One register open, 12 people in line, cashier calling on the PA for help. No help. She calls again. No help. She calls again, this time naming individuals by name to open a register. No help. Manager enters store through front door, sees the line and asks cashier if she has called for help yet; answer is yes. Manager calls an individual by name on the PA. No one arrives. We're thinking a missing person report or two may be required, but then maybe that employee we saw wandering the store a few minutes ago could help locate the missing ones. Does the manager open a register? No. ... We leave. Sad and empty handed. read more

I can't get enough of hobby lobby. Love that you can find almost anything here. Also love that they constantly have sales and coupons. I started knitting recently and there are 2-3 aisles of different types of yarn. There are aisles full of scrapbooking supplies. There are options for home decor including decorating baby's nursery. Even my husband was happy with the selection of model cars! The parking lot is weird and can tell you people speed so be careful - but there is no reason to blame that in hobby lobby! read more

I have been to this Hobby Lobby twice now and both experiences have been lacking. My first complaint is that their sale system is ridiculous. People are expected to know what's on sale and then the cashier spends several minutes verifying it in the flyer. Why can't they just put the codes for the sales in their system like every other store. It almost seem like they don't want you to notice if you're not charged the sale price. But then today I went in to get some ideas for an upcoming wedding as I am a floral designer. I noticed that there was a sale on all the floral stems. I saw some succulent stems and I found a sales associate and asked, "are these stems included in the sale?" She asked me where I got them and we walked over together and I showed her. She said they were, in fact, a part of the 50% off sale. When I went up to check out, the cashier told me that they were not on sale and I would pay full price. I explained that I had already talked to a sales associate who told me they were. She called the manager and he told me that they were not considered a stem but a floral pick, and therefore NOT on sale. I explained that the person working in the department said they were a part of the sale. And he was like "Nope, she's wrong." And so I just left. They need to get their mess together. I am headed back to AC Moore. Way simpler. read more

Had not been in a Hobby Lobby before. Was expecting yarn, water colors, floral, scrapbooking and framing. Surprised by how big the Parkside Cary, NC store is and much home decor was available, from small furniture to an almost infinite amount of wall art. Plus all the expected craft store supplies in high volume. Something fishy about the other yelp review out here in apple maps. I don't recall lack of scanners at the registers. No issue with getting appropriate discount for me. Will try to confirm and update. EDIT: I was right, and I was wrong. They DO have scanners at the register, but they only use them on coupons. They ring up purchases by hand. Maybe quaint, definitely clumsy, and some risk of not getting your discount, but since almost everything is almost always on the same discount, it doesn't seem like a 1-star review situation (but if that's what triggers you, then so be it). Likelihood is that they've got what you need in the hobby universe AND something you didn't expect from the home decor universe at a competitive price. read more
