I bought a recliner for my husband's office here today. We were greeted and left alone to look around. Just the way I like it. When I found what I wanted, Mary-Margaret handled the sale and we were quickly out the door. She was friendly and helpful. The downside - it won't be delivered for nearly a month because I'm a county over and 30 minutes from the store. That's a little ridiculous. Arrived at this store 03/22/2025 I drove around 40 minutes and had a newly we that also wanted furniture mind you we all had CASH to pay and was ready to buy and even had a trailer to take ourselves. I'm not exactly sure how one would complain about VALUE CITY FURNITURE, because apparently nobody has. I spoke with different people and have been told that there is a shortage on wood, foam, and everything from soup to nuts, for the love of Christ! I wonder if it's dawned on anyone yet that it's buy buy buy and no delivery yet! But they think nothing of expecting you to make your monthly payment each month, and each month VALUE CITY calls you to inform you that unfortunately they aren't going to be ably to deliver the couch you bought on APRIL 6TH and it was promised to be DELIVERED on APRIL 23RD. Well folks...its JUNE 14th and my 83 year old Mother has a chair that she bought. It's a damn shame that she is paying for a brand new couch since APRIL and it has yet to be delivered to her home!! My family friends just received their sectional today. FIRST, may I add it was ready for pickup 4 days late. When it got to their house the furniture was different colors. They ended up having to go back to the store to receive the correct piece of the sectional and were given extreme attitude over the phone. When they finally got home with the correct furniture, they THEN found out that their footstool didn't have the feet attachments. It wasn't even my purchase and I was frustrated that their experience was so poor. I never plan on shopping here in the future. read more

Eastgate store is horrible. They have a scam to run your credit several times which causes several dings on your credit report. They blame the credit company & try to get customers to use their credit company that you would be leasing furniture like the rent to own store. The guy in credit department tried to act like he did not understand the scam. Very unprofessional employees. Save yourself a lot of time & headaches by skipping this store. Ordered a couch on Black Friday and was told it would arrive on Jan 28. January 28th arrives, we got charged the full amount for the couch[even though we had set up a payment plan in store...]we called to see what time we could go pick up the couch that day and we were told it would actually be arriving in March all of our receipts say we would get our couch on the 28th, and we also got cutter the full amount of money at once on the same date, so you would expect to get your couch if you're paying for it ya know. We called customer service multiple times to try to get things figured out, it was very hard to find someone who was actually helpful. When someone has an issue with the product you're providing, it's not that hard to be courteous and helpful from the start, specially if the provider is the one making several mistakes constantly. Finally, one of the managers said we could go pick up the couch on feb 2nd. Feb 2nd arrives, we go get our couch, bring it home, and once we unwrap the different sections of the couch, one section[the largest one mind you] was a complete different color than what we had ordered. We asked them to come pick up the incorrect part of the couch from our house and we were told we'd have to pay for them to pick up the wrong piece of furniture[that they incorrectly gave us] and also the delivery of a correct one. Anyways, we drove the incorrect piece of furniture back, traded it for a new one, brought it home, and eventually found out as we assemble the couch that they had failed to give us the legs for the Ottoman. On top of everything that had already gone wrong, some of the legs that they did give us for the couch wouldn't work, the screws were crooked and stripped. Overall, Judging by our experience and other reviews I would just skip on this store all together. read more

I bought at Tri Power LVST in Maddox Blue from value city furniture i was told that it would be delivered "around" February 14th we were pushed to buy the couch then because the next shipment wasn't until the beginning of april. we have now received 2 calls (the first time they didn't bother to call us to let us know that the delivery had been pushed back) it has been over a month. we have paid in full for the couch and we still do not have a couch. we didn't find out until i called and spoke with a manager that it could take up to a year for the couch to be delivered. and on top of that the manager called me a liar when i said his employee had not informed us of this. to be fair he didn't use the word "liar" he simply told me that his employees are "too highly trained to do that" read more

I bought a soffa in August of 2020, within 3 months the seat cushions develpoed divits. I called them several times for repairs. They sent someone out twice yet NO repairs were made. The second time the guy came out he said he would order parts. 3 months later I called to get a status, they told me they couldn't get the parts. Yet no one bothered to pick up the phone and call me, they just let me sit. The way the cushions are you can't just unzip it and stuff foam in there, they're stapled down in the back. I have called VCF several times about my sofa, left messages but once you're out the door. YOU DON'T MATTER ANYMORE!! No body returns calls. Then upon checking my credit report I find a year latter Acceptance Now show I owe over $1400 back payments. IT WAS PAID OF BY DECEMBER!!! Acceptance Now acknowladges it's paid off but has not corrected it on my credit report. I would rather sit on a nail than do business with VCF! read more

If you're looking to spend $2000 on furniture and 6 MONTHS LATER still not have that furniture, VCF is the place to go.

Stay away, once they get your money you do not matter to them. I bought a sectional that was well over $1500 it quickly broke down after just over 7 months of use. I contacted them and they stated they needed to send someone out to inspect the furniture. Once here they agreeded that there was a defect and they would order repair parts. Patiently waited 6 weeks until the parts came in, set up a repair date and at this time we are 8 weeks in. The repair man came and had the wrong parts!!!! No big deal right, the repair man made a few calls and said they would fix this and expedite the new parts and someone would call and confirm in the next couple of days. Four weeks pass and no call so I call them and they said "yes we ordered the wrong parts and the new parts have been ordered but it would be 6 to 12 weeks". At this point I explained that this isn't acceptable and that I have furniture that will either hurt your back or you have to sit on the floor. I was then told there isn't much they can do they won't swap with new furniture and we are well out of the 7 day return window so I would just need to deal with it. This by far is the worse customer service and lack of care and concern I have ever received from a company. I will not return and hope you heed this warning. read more

I ordered a leather sectional on August 2nd, I was told most of the couch would be delivered by mid September, which happened. The rest of this couch was supposed to be delivered today (October 28th). I had not heard from anyone so I called them to ask about my delivery, I was told the missing pieces to my couch would not be delivered until December 29th. I spoke with a "supervisor" and they stated there is nothing they can do about this. She offered to give me a $150 discount off of a $2700 couch. I was not contacted by anyone to let me know the rest of my couch wouldn't be delivered until the end of the year. The service I have received has been terrible by this company, I would recommend doing your furniture shopping anywhere else. 5 months to have my couch complete is not reasonable for any circumstances, especially after being told it would be delivered by a specific date. read more

Was walking around the store for a half hour on black friday then had to walk to the front counter for a sales rep and we told our sales rep we wanted the autumn with our dresser and couch and she never once told us we had to do the 20% of to get the autumn so we thought that if we did the 10% we got the autumn as well but come to find out we don't get it so now we have to pay more to get the autumn our sales rep need to diclose that we needed to do the 20% for it. Better quality of furniture at a reasonable price. Helpful staff and always a greeting when walking through the door. I prefer VCF over Ashley Furniture, Ashley can be quite expensive for quality near department store standard. I have had one issue with VCF though. After purchasing a large item and paying for delivery, I waited nearly all day for delivery. I called 3 hours before they closed and was told it was a pick-up. I informed them that I had my reciept with purchase price and delivery fee that they can view when they deliver my item. The woman on the phone then told me she would look into it and call me back. About a half an hour later she called and apologized profusely, they then delivered the item within the hour and returned the delivery fee to my card. While the delivery gentlemen were apologizing for the confusion and carrying the item into the house, the woman at VCF called me back to ensure the delivery and apologize again. I felt they handled the issue well and continued to purchase from this location without incident. The store is always clean and organized, sometimes in furniture stores everything can be cluttered into sections. I do hope they stand against their competition because a lot of time people choose name over price and quality. read more

Sales staff were great , joy to work with ... the warranty company is a hassle thus far they've not come or have made excuses to come replace a broken mirror we purchased . The staff in the acceptance now office seem to have such a terrible attitude , if you are upset at work then don't come I suggest , customer service is your job so service the customer in a friendly joyful manner so they enjoy the visit . Not impressed when we walked in, salesperson Barry Fellabaum greeted us and we asked about a specific sofa and loveseat we picked online. He pointed to rear of store and said it was by restrooms, then he walked away. We found the set we wanted and after about 15 minutes he showed up again. There was another set we were interested in and he checked and said it was discontinued. Then why was it still on their website? He seemed nice enough but not very interested in selling us anything. He did however talk at length about his 1967 Caprice he was restoring. We also bought a leather armchair in addition to a power reclining sofa and matching lloveseat. The loveseat was not available with a power recliner. We wanted both to be power reclining because I have a bad knee and it's difficult for me to close a recliner manually. We were offered no other options so went with the set. I liked a piece of artwork but thought it was overpriced and inquired about getting it for a few dollars less as we had just spent two grand. He shrugged his shoulders and never said a word. Again, didn't seem too interested in a sale. We were taken to the checkout desk. Nobody was in the store but us, being a Friday night at 6. Our paperwork was given to a woman with green hair, who proceeded to answer a phone call. Ten minutes later we are still waiting. It was obvious from the giggling and laughing it was not a business call. Very unprofessional and rude. Barry finally got a manager to ring us up. Took another ten minutes because he didn't seem too familiar with their system. When we exited Barry asked how things went. I told him about the receptionist on her personal phone call and he just shrugged his shoulders. We asked for a Saturday delivery but were informed by Barry they only delivered to our part of town on Tuesday or Wednesday. Over the weekend we rechecked our purchase and found the set was extra long. So I returned on Tuesday and chose a different set. This time Brian McCleary waited on me. Totally different experience, helpful and knowledgeable. Plus I asked about Saturday delivery and he said no problem. Obviously Barry either lied or was unfamiliar with the store's delivery days. After getting our furniture on June 4, a power cord was missing. A manager called that day and personally delivered it Sunday. Another example of good customer service unlike Barry. The saga continued when on June 7 we discovered a seam on the sofa was coming apart. My wife called and they scheduled a replacement for Friday, June 10. It arrived as promised and the mover was rather rude, asking what was the problem. I showed him the split seam and he and his partner removed the sofa backs and carried out the bottom half. They were gone ten minutes then came in with a "new" bottom. For all I know they repaired it in the truck, but at any rate they put the old backs on the supposed new bottom. Why wouldn't you replace the entire sofa? This is why we usually shop Furniture Fair. Hopefully this set lasts. Price was right, service not so hot. read more

We purchased a sectional couch that ended up being complete junk. The material it was made with was awful, it cracked and peeled. I called to make a claim under my warranty but I just missed the expiration date which was my mistake. When we purchased the warranty we were told if we don't use it we get our money back. That was not accurate. What they give you is an in-store credit to go towards the purchase of something else in their store which you have to use within 60 days of the expiration date. This store is the worst store I've ever bought furniture from in my life.If you go here you are taking a serious risk.I bought a loveseat and recliner before x-mas and was told it would be here Saturday the 23rd of December on Saturday I was told it wouldn't be here till January when I tried to get a refund they told me I'd have to wait 10days on a check.I paid cash but have to wait 10days on a check.Then after agreeing to wait I get several phone calls and emails asking me to confirm my delivery for Wednesday January 17th after confirming and tracking it to make sure it was at the warehouse I threw my old couch away to get ready for the delivery and this morning I was told my furniture was delayed till February.They are crooks and scammers.I would not recommend anyone pay to be put through this ever!!!!!!!! read more

Horrible, HORRIBLE service. Ordered a recliner over a month ago for a Christmas gift and received a call DAYS before Christmas telling me it wouldn't be available for another 2 weeks after! Immediately returned the call, anonymously asking sales person if they had the chair in stock to which they replied, "no, but we can have it here by Tuesday for you." That works for me, however speaking to a manager, I was basically told that's not how it works and I would need to wait another two weeks...therefore, NOT having my gift on Christmas as I was promised, AND waiting nearly two full months for a chair to be delivered to their STORE for me to pick up, not even to my house! Their STORE! Manager, Jeff, unwilling to help or assist in ANY WAY! I asked for a corporate phone number and he explained to me they only communicate via email. Fyi - I emailed them a week ago and have not received a reply. Going back to always reliable Furniture Fair. Selection is what you would imagine with a name with "value" in it. The furniture works and ok quality. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and I was not disappointed with the purchase I made. The only that irked me was the person I had to deal with in picking up the furniture.
