Aaron enjoys the technical and artistic challenges of glass. When creating a piece, there are many variables that interact: the temperature of the glass, the artist's hands, and time. He feels that the process of making each piece is as important as the final product. Saturday morning March 2016. We were given a flyer for an open house by the Early Birds Breakfast owner on our way out. She was promoting local business, or a good customer. *See that review* We followed the GPS just down the road to a white house up on the hill. Tents, tables, and people awaited us. A peek into the open door of a workshop, led me to a demonstration going on back in the "Oven Room". Walking to a chair, to me past an area that gave off a blast of heat. I was 15' back, but directly in front of the small oven entrance. It looks like a 55gallon drum on it's side with a paper plate size hole in the end, with duct work connections. inside that small opening was white heat above a thousand degrees. The shelves around us were neatly lined with hand tools, and small containers of various colorings. This was how they added colors and designs. The artist was very informative, and happy to answer any questions that I(yes me I'm inquisitive) had for him. Until that piece went into a very slow cooling box, it was certainly some time spent creating it. When we walked back outside, it gave you a whole new perspective of each piece you were seeing. The design. The colors. The detail. We weren't looking for that $250 entry bowl for the foyer, but just a nice peice to bookmark our day. A pretty heart piece for her dressing table. A cool paw print paperweight that we will use for our notes to the dog sitters/walkers. A beautiful starfish to join her beach motif collection. Sshh! Don't tell her. It's for Christmas. And I picked up a speckle colored mushroom that was made to place in your garden. They were doing transactions on their iPad with a Square device. The new chip reader pad was also available for those with new secure cards. Overall, I am going to make this assumption. If you call or contact them, they will be awaiting your visit. With no permanent signage out front, I can only imagine that they regularly pack up, and display at art shows and craft events. If you ever had trouble thinking of the perfect gift that shows you put a lot of thought into it, they are the ones who could help design it. Good thing there is such a great restaurant nearby to make the trip even better.
