It's the same bakeshop from my old neighborhood. Well ... kind of, sort of. As the proprietor told me, you can special order anything from the main store and have it shipped to their location in Dallas, though they do keep an inventory of cakes, cookies and other treats. The cheese straws were great! The lemon bars, as I remembered. The peanut butter bars, not so much. ("I think they're sort of stale," my daughter said -- which could be a problem with an off-site outlet.) In addition to baked goods, the store sells jewelry, gift items and antiques. It's a small shop and I was delighted to find a typesetter's draw -- I've been looking for one! -- to showcase my collection of miniatures. The woman who runs the shop is friendly and helpful. I think her location is somewhat off the beaten path ... but if you're there, stop in for lunch at the neighboring Mexican restaurant. (It's very good!)
