I've never been a fan of this franchise in general because most of the merchandise in chinese made junk you can find on amazon for 10-20% cheaper. It's been a few years since I've been in this store, so I decided to check it out again today. This place has gone WAY downhill - after navigating around the endless gimmicky displays of $4.99 impulse buy junk, you'll notice half of the lights were burned out. I needed a generic 1/28 scale esc and mini z size tires. Unfortunately, since it wasn't a 'hobbytown approved' traxxas, losi or arrma brand, they had absolutely none of these items. I will also mention if you're not a 'regular'' in there, it is near impossible to get assistance as they favor their 'big buy' customers. I won't be back. read more

Good place for hobby parts and models. You can tell it's good because of the nerdy staff... seriously, helpful and knowledgable staff. Huge selection of models and planes and motorized model cRs and stuff. read more

I drove 30 min out of my way to come by here. I was in the store 15-20 min. One guy started to help then randomly started helping someone else. Said someone else needed to help me. All I needed to know is if they has a certain part in a glass case I was standing by. It was such a mess that you couldn't tell what was in there. I was going to buy about $1800 or so if items from their store. Couldn't even get help. 3 customers in store. 4 employees. Hate leaving these negative reviews. Big let down here. Just skip this one. Stopped by this store after dinner so my husband could get what he needed to fix up his remote control car. He seemed to find everything he needed fairly quickly for under $40. I guess that's a good thing as I'm not a RC car person. According to hubby it was great so I'm taking his word on it The cashier was also very friendly and had good knowledge on the car my husband has. The store is ok. I go there for model train stuff, and they have a good selection. It's good, not great. It's the best place in town price wise, but if you have the time, I'd just go to entertrainment junction in cinci. But it's not bad. I'll still go there. I'm sorry to be a quote on quote negative nelly But there honestly there is no other way to put it this hobby store has the absolute worst customer service and repair service possible. I had my slash "fixed there" and I said to my DAD "when we go to get my car you should get yours fixed" Please note that it is a 3-hour drive from my home to the store, Now when I traveled there to retrieve my slash they claimed they had it done by phone but when I arrived it looked like it exploded all over the worktable in which it was placed parts of it on every corner when ended up waiting for 3 hours us being enraged stormed out and left dads (ECX) after a mouth I got worried and called they claimed they "sold the car" until I explained it was an (ECX) model car so we left it and let it slip our minds it is a 3-hour drive there so this past weekend we took a trip for Christmas shopping and decided to pick it up we got there and they had not worked on it since (we did request that it be worked on) so not paying anything and taking the answer that it was "too dirty to fix" we took it but I also discovered the next day that it was not fixed, not reassembled correctly, and with missing parts and screws I definitely recommend staying clear from this store but coyote hobbies being permanently closed and it is the only other one in the eastern Kentucky area I honestly don't know what to do. read more

Called them to see if they had some tools I was looking for and they said yes so off I went. It's been a long tome since I've been in a hobby store and they are really nice here but they don't have much of a selection I think honestly so that is why I'm giving it a 4 Star. As a loyal customer, former employee, and Gundam model kit enthusiast, as a whole I was given a very unique and special experience. As a consumer I was a recognized face there, and always felt welcome. Many years and model kits later the priveledge to serve other Gunpla fans opened up and I was given a job. I'll never be happier using my knowledge of what was then a growing product. The management here is excellent. Fair in any situation and hardworking. They even took a chance on the ideas I presented, I can say to manys happiness today. No longer with the crew, but I still shop here, Gundam model kits took off in a perfect unprecedented way, and there's new faces to a hobby that Deserves this much care. read more

This store has horibble customer service. Period. Well not everyone, colemen is cool. Joe "fixed" my slash. His own words he said he never tested it. He said "we do enough of these that we dont have to test them we know how they go together". When I called back he had zero help. Seemed like he did not care at all. While exploring Lexington, I decided to stop by to see if I could save some time and money on shipping. I was kindly greeted upon entering, I asked where the Gundam kits were, and the gentleman pointed me in the exact direction. I poorly assumed they wouldn't have much, but IMOO they had a decent selection. I was mainly there to pick up some action bases, but I also picked up a couple SD's that they don't have on the islands for my kids. If I could fit more in my suitcase, I would've bought more. read more

They've been very helpful to me. I saw bad reviews when I first started going (not like there are a lot of options in Lex), but they've been extremely helpful to me, even showed me how to solder! They don't nickel and dime and have a pretty decent selection and willingness to order. I think the guys maybe come off not caring when some customers ask about non-RC things or obscure stuff because they really don't know. BUT, that's one of my favorite things about them- the just say they don't know instead of BS'ing and acting knowledgeable like St retrial people do. The guys are def real RC users so you get what comes with that, but I find them to be very helpful to a noob like me. They've even gone out of their way to research and find ways to save some $ and called me back! I rarely see that, so I will be back frequently and spend a lot more there because of it. Had to say something since I've been so pleasantly surprised. Coleman and Micah are both pretty knowledgeable and helpful and tell me when someone else would be better to ask! read more

I bought two small quads for gifts. One works perfectly. The other had one motor fail after the first flight. Because I admitted (truthfully) that it flew once, they would not refund or exchange. I emailed their corporate office and got no response. They continue to email me even though I have repeatedly unsubscribed. I would NEVER do business with them again. read more
