I'm only leaving this review because this was my second bad experience. The first time, this pink haired girl refused to help me find a yarn I was asking about, and then walked off. Today, I stood at the check out while two girls chatted by the balloons. Neither of them bothered to come check me out as I stood there, so I had to use the self check out. The customer service simply isn't there. I don't know if it's a generational thing, with the staff being almost entirely young women or what, but this is really making me miss Joanne's. read more

Michaels has kept me sane during the pandemic. Recently, I've been completing spin art paintings and have taken on the challenge to paint 100 canvases. Since I'm motivated by savings, Michaels has kept the coupons coming via the app and the mail. Plus, they even marked down canvases for several months. I encourage you to take up a hobby and create, too. The staff are friendly and are very patient with customers. My husband and I were shopping and had to use the restroom. We were told the restrooms were closed. We parked the cart and went next door to Marshals and used their restroom and spent our money there. We will not shop at a store that doesn't have a public restroom. read more

If I could get away with NOT rating them at all, I would. As I've recently moved here, I was recommended this place as a framing option by a few, though I was warned of their over charging. I still went ahead and got my framing done there... unfortunately! The first time around, they kept delaying my frames. The second time around, the whole framing section was on discount (as per the emails I was getting!) but just not the 2 frames I'd chosen. Did I find the frames over priced? Yes! Did they ever call me to inform my framing was ready as they promised? No!!! But beggars can't be choosers and as I was a glutton for punishment, I went back a third time... even AFTER they had ruined my first order and my sister's canvas art! So let's talk about my third time within 2 months there... as I was trying to set up my place and coz they were close by, I went there yet again on 1st June with 2 canvas paintings... one of a kind sufi art by an international artist. I was told they would be ready by the 11th... one was and the second wasn't as it was lopsided. I will not get into details of all that happened but let me just say that after running to them for 3 days, they managed to open my frame twice, rip it on the side and make holes! Worse thing was, nobody was willing to take responsibility for it! The girl who apparently did it left and the one on duty kept rolling her eyes seeing me distressed and was like 'ya it's ripped.. maybe when they took the staples out. But there is nothing we can do about it." Horrible attitude! I wrote to their customer service ... didn't get a response until 19 June... was told I'd be called by the district manager but nothing happened. On discussing my distressful experience with friends and colleagues, it came to light that others had experienced similarly there as well. Also, their framing section is not really 'trained experts' as claimed. I feel cheated and just soooo disappointed by this clear lack of interest in the voice of the consumer and customer satisfaction. Never... NEVER going to a Michaels again! read more

I am not actually a fan of Michaels. The olds and crafty tend to flock here like lemmings. At times they kind of wierd me out. There are certain things that you need that are crafty or should I say hobby related and need to pay them a visit. They have a lot of home decor, art supplies, yarns, threads, candy supplies, and many other craft supplies for those of you who are interested. They also do framing if you are needing a picture framed. I find the staff to be friendly and helpful and the place was super clean. I've been shopping at Michael's for years. They have almost anything that you can imagine when it comes to craft supplies. You can also log on to their website and pull up a 50% off of a regular priced item, so you don't have to clip those annoying coupons in their ad in Sunday papers. read more

Maybe they get 2 stars because they never and I mean never have what I'm looking for. The store is always 800° inside and you look like you just came from the gym if you have to be here very long. I always have to search for someone to help me look for the item they ultimately never have and then they never seem to know what I'm talking about so coming here is almost useless. I think they just hire warm bodies over any sort of cognitive being. Although I do keep trying because of the lack of places to get the items you think they would carry or at least in my case anyway. Give the place a shot your mileage may vary! read more

Had yet another bad experience involving POOR customer service...... stopped in to pick up some holiday gift items. I was in the ribbon isle and saw some thing ribbon in multiple colors for .50 ( what a good deal I thought). There was at least 6 ribbons in each color in the boxes. Once deciding on a ribbon I liked, I purchased my other items and went to check out. The cashier acted like she didn't want to be there, when I mentioned the price of the ribbon her response was " they are in the wrong spot". Once I pointed out that there were multiple colors with multiple amounts marked .50, she asked someone about it ( did not tell them the kind or the size or anything. 2 seconds later she said " they are in the wrong spot". I left without the ribbon and was frustrated with how little they cared and the fact that no one even looked. Felt as if they were calling me a liar. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE!!! It shows they only care about themselves and not the customer! read more

Mikie that works the register was extremely rude and unfriendly.... I spend hundreds of dollars every month with this store.When I walked up with a cart load of items she gave me a glare and it was written on her face the whole time. I had three antique prints, two very small rematted here. The first time the opening for the two smaller prints were crooked. It appeared that on the larger one they hadn't cleaned the glass, or cleaned off the dust before putting it back together. One corner was not cut cleanly. I left them to be redone (which they agreed to do cheerfully). On the second pick up the openings were still crooked and the glass was still somewhat dirty. ( I was able to clean it with a razor blade). The larger mat still had a badly cut corner. I took them home anyway. My recommendation is that if you have any work that requires expert cutting, take it somewhere else! Even with their "discounts" it was too much to pay for shoddy work. read more

I used to love this store and would go there for all my painting needs. That was, until tonight. When this employee Tracey decided that my coloring book was "too expensive" and made me take it back. Yes, she actually made me put my coloring book back. And then when i got a cheaper poster as well she had the audacity to tell me i was being cheap. WHO IN THE WORLD DOES THIS WOMAN THINK SHE IS? First of all, It isn't any of her business how much money my coloring costs. Second of all, it isn't her place to tell me what to do. Her only job is to scan the barcode and take my money. If she wanted to tell me what to do, she should've been a life coach or counselor or something useful instead of being 50 years old and working a minimum wage job at a corporate craft store who feels she is entitled to tell her customers what they can and cant do with their money. This behavior is unacceptable and appalling. If you happen to see Tracy from Michael's switch lanes because she will probably make you take all your stuff back.
