Cool store, they have a little bit of everything for most hobbyists. My only complaint is that if you're into N scale model trains, they don't have much of a selection, but if you're into HO scale, they've got you covered. I know that HO is the most popular, but there are also a lot of N scale enthusiasts too. Please carry more N scale items! read more

Wow! what a difference the beautiful new location of Hobbytown is. Room to walk to actually see all of the large inventory, to explore the various hobbies available and so much more. Not having to step over broken RC vehicles being repaired as there is now a dedicated repair room and repair personnel. The whole atmosphere is now family friendly while still maintaining the huge inventory for the more serious type hobbies in Model building plastic kits, Model Railroading, Remote Control Vehicle's of all types; Ground, Air or Water. Expended inventory for children's toys, games, and so much more. Additionally, plenty of parking spaces, and even areas to "run those RC vehicles." So take the short drive to this new location of Hobbytown and see for yourself the wonderful experience you and your family will have. But I do caution you: bring a pocket full of money. You will be buying cause you can't resist all the goodies they have. read more

This is what I just sent to Hobbytown corporate offices. This is about your store in Augusta Georgia. I have shopped at Hobbytown in all States in which I've lived. Across the 7 States I have yet to see a store that is is much of a pit as is this one. Every other store has been neat, clean, well organized, and a pleasure to visit. This store is horrible. My wife has asthma and within a minute of being in the store had to leave due to the smell of the store. There was absolutely no organization of the stock. The store was so crowded with stock that walking through it was very difficult. I traditionally shop at Hobbytown because I like supporting local businesses. I will never go back to this store. Someone from your corporate office should visit it. I doubt this is the image you want from your stores. read more

So, for those of you who wrote negative reviews, you totally miss the ambience of a hobby shop. The worst day of my life was when I had to move away and no longer have access to Dave and his Hobbytown. For those of us who frequented the store, it was a gathering place. They do have a ton of inventory, and stacked to the ceiling is just the way it is. So get over yourselves; there are plenty of us who love this store!! read more

It's very nice to have a hobby shop in Augusta, didn't even know of it until recently, I decided to check it out as I am getting into building models and had as pleasant experience. Sure they have alot of stock crammed into the small space they have, but to me that's a plus to see they are using every inch of the place to have products available to me. I did not associate with the owner but the shopleep I dealt with was very nice. I think some of these other reviewers are just snooty people. read more

The store clerk (owner?) was very rude and dismissive. Wouldn't even look up at us to answer questions. The store is so jam packed with junk and trash that you cannot see what they have in stock. They were playing conspiracy theory radio about topics that were so inappropriate that I was worried about what my child was hearing. It was disgusting - we may differ politically but this topic was just not appropriate in any setting. Especially in a HOBBY STORE. read more

I went here for new electronics for a rc truck and they first as soon as I walked in both gave me pretty rude looks and when I asked for help finding the THREE parts I needed they were absolutely no help saying they didn't have the parts. All I needed was a basic servo, speed controller, and a new remote and the guy started saying I needed all these thing's needed to fix but they didn't have . I knew they had all these parts because you could clearly see them. Throughout the mess of a store. I left to place my truck in my car and went back into the store just to buy the servo speed controller and remote and they would not help me. The man claimed he was busy when I asked for help and walked past me to go ask another custom if they needed anything. I stood were they had the parts I needed for 15 minutes and then the man came back and told me I need to leave (without helping me get my parts because they have them all locked up for whatever reason) because they had people waiting outside to enter. I just can't believe how rude a little shop like them are especially in an economic down like right now due to coronavirus. They acted like because I was younger I couldn't afford things at there store. I will never return to this place again and do not recommend going here online shopping is a much better place than these trashy people. read more

Called about a AIO camera, they apparently don't know much about what they have in stock, the prices of the things they have or what they or actually holding. I then asked for a camera on the InductrixFPV when they couldn't figure out what a whoop AIO camera was so the put me on hold then cam back and told me he thought he had a torrent VTX for $30.... and a torrent camera.... and didn't know if it had OSD wires or not because it's in the box read more

First off, let me be clear and state that I am a female who has no idea about RC vehicles or anything related to them but every time I have had to go to this store the staff (owner) and the customers have been helpful and friendly to me. They do have a lot of stock and it seems to be stocked in a way that makes it easier for the staff to find things, but it's their store and since I have no idea what I am looking for I would rather have them look for these items rather than me look for them. It's a small location and with all the packaging in here there is a slight smell. Not an "cause an asthma attack, you cant breathe in here" kind of smell. I feel like the people giving the 1 stars apparently have never been in an old school comic book store. That is what I tend to get reminded of when we walk in there. The customers like to stand around and talk to each other like friends would do in any small shop. They do seem to like the NPR type talk radio and anyone complaining of "inappropriate talk" that might be concerning for a child to hear is being ridiculous. Refer back to the comic book store reference!!! It's a HOBBY SHOP!!! I would be bummed if I didn't spot a weird conspiracy theorist type person here. All and all the staff and owner are super nice and helpful. They have a lot of stock and always provide us with information on products we are inquiring on. The prices are relatable to those you would find online and unlike the big box stores you are going to find exactly what you are looking for and even things you didnt know you wanted! read more

I went in to Hobby Town seeking some information about a Traxxas car I bought. The owner, a very nice gentleman, answered all of my questions and had the parts I was looking for. He said he trys to keep most parts in stock, and it is evident that he does. They close at 7:00 pm most evenings which makes it convenient for most of us that work till 5:00pm. I encourage you to try this place out if you need R/C cars, trucks, boats, or planes. They have answers for your questions, and have parts for your mishaps!!
