I can't speak about Dr. Laura but I do go here to see Dr. Alvarez and she is amazing! Beyond just back pain she has helped me with my anxiety, mobilizing my shoulders, and is one out of 140 practitioners worldwide that practices cranial chiropractic care and can actually adjust my jaw! It's helped tremendously with my TMJ. She is intuitive and with only one short description of what I am feeling, she finds the causes and fixes them quickly. Always a great experience. The front desk staff always accommodates me with last minute schedule changes and I never have to wait a long time to see the doctor. I drive to Hoboken from DUMBO in Brooklyn and I've been going since September and continue to go! Worth the drive in my opinion. In contrast to the other reviews, Dr. Alvarez does not push products or other therapies on me. She truly just listens to what is bothering me and is there to fix it. Its a scam. They charged me 175$ for some adjustment they were supposed to do for my toddler ( who supposedly has a tongue tie) . Dr Laura could not even get in the mouth of my child. As the other reviewers state - only in it for the money and I thank god I didn't let her touch me at the consultation. I was turned off immediately when she spoke to her office manager in a rude and condescending manner (with patients in the waiting room). Once in my consultation, she tried to push herbal pills on me and give me a laundry list of issues with my spine based on my posture. I've been seeing a chiropractor since I was 14 years old and have never been told half the BS she was trying to 'sell' me. I have a hard time trusting doctors to begin with and got a very bad vibe from her as well as the office. Definitely not recommended. read more

DON'T GO!!!! Was completely beguiled by this office. I came for the cause of the toxins in my body. At the end, they vaguely stated, "you have toxins in your body". That's like saying, "you have headaches because you have a head". And then they suggested I come back a day later, paying an additional $120 on top the $150 they just charged me. Supposedly, Dr. Brayton (the actual specialist) would come in and give me an ACTUAL DIAGNOSIS, but it would take over a months time of 2 visits per week (Some $300/week) and a full body cleanse (buying their products). I've been to many helpful and properly educated Chiropractors over the yrs. that have been able to solve my issues. I just moved to NJ, which is why I went. I fully intend on reporting this office for this offense and unethical practice. read more

Dr Brayton is very knowledgeable and takes a more holistic approach to healing, which I truly appreciate. Good service, I left the room feeling so much better. That is until they told me that they don't accept my insurance, or ANY insurance for that matter. They made sure to not tell me that prior to coming (even though I asked!!!) and then proceeded to charge me $150 for my visit. This is of course after I saw the doctor and could therefore could not walk out without paying. Horrible business practice! I feel completely swindled. And then they refused to give me a receipt... even though I said I was going to try and still submit the claim to my insurance. The entire experience was unprofessional and criminal, in my opinion. very bad NAET treatment experience, first she will say that you are allergic to milk and make you take treatment for 1000$ and after that she says you are treated go drink cow milk's. Then you go and drink cow's milk and allergy starts all over your face and body, you come back to her furiated, the answer she gives "oh you had milk with wheat, milk with choclolate, milk with pasta, that is the reason you got allergy again" so she there a millon combinations you can have milk wth, that means you can get allergy any time, there is no way she can treat this millon combinations. Dr. Brayton is the best. Hoboken Chiro + Wellness' standard of chiropractic care should be the standard by which all other chiropractors are measured. Dr. Brayton's hands literally have magical powers that make you feel better, instantly. The office is an upscale, warm, welcoming, and beautifully decorated healing space. She is the go-to doctor whenever I'm feeling under the weather, nursing some kind of cycle injury, or just not feeling 100%. One can instantly tell she knows her stuff by the way she touches the body and questions she asks. The herbal tea, aromatherapy, and spa music are also a really nice touch. Stacey, the office manager, is great and makes everyone feel at home. Dr. Brayton is also amazing with children- my son has been seeing her since he was an infant. In an age where time is money, most doctors just want to rush you off so they can see their next patient and their next paycheck. Dr. Brayton is totally different breed of doctor. She spends time and energy to listen to you. You never feel rushed when seeing her; a complaint I have of nearly all the doctors, even my personal doctors. Her rates are reasonable and she is one of the few chiropractors I have known to take charity patients at a reduced fee; Something difficult to do with the outrageous rent she surely pays having a Hoboken location. Critics who say she's only "out for the money" are absolutely wrong. Does she give a laundry list of problems? Quite possibly she may if you have many problems, but that's because she does a thorough job evaluating you. Does she ever push herbal pills? She may in her 2nd or 3rd visit, but that's because she believes in alternative medicine and you can always say no. She will never hold that against you. She has been my doctor now for nearly two years. I can't say enough good things. I worked in the medical research field and I can say without hesitation, she is extremely knowledgeable, well-read, and also shares her knowledge with her patients. The NAET treatment alongside the chiropractic therapy she gives is invaluable. It takes time, but it really works. After a little less than a year's time, my girlfriend did a complete 360 degree turn. As to me, I was weak and debilitated; suffering from severe asthma alongside other problems such as degenerative disks. The terrible pain in my back is gone. My legs are back in proportion. My asthma may still be bad, but considerably better than it was. I went from going to the emergency room 17 times in one year to 5 and I no longer feel weak and debilitated. In fact, I see Dr. Brayton more than I see pulmonologists and other specialists, because I feel her treatment helps manage my asthma better as opposed to seeing only my pulmonologists or seeing them more frequently. NAET cured my problems with chronic bronchitis and I hope now that Dr. Brayton can cure my asthma next. read more
