To Crack your Back or Not- That is a real dilemma. Let me assure you that whether you are a believer or not, the X-Rays do not lie. I had originally purchased a groupon for a massage and xray consult when I noticed my back was hurting a bit. Although at first it took me forever to make an appointment that I was able to make, when I finally got around to actually going. My massage was a solid "meh", but my consult and alignment were amazing. I can see the bend in my spine and the whip lashed curvature in my neck due to years of snowboarding, skiing, sports in general, car accidents, waitressing I'm sure! I didn't want to review this place after just one session though. So since then I've been back and am getting aligned weekly to straighten out my spine and neck. It's actually made me feel so much better - taller - healthier - less tension the Chiropractor talks really fast - which I think she could slow down at, but she's very warm and welcoming and explains what she's doing to you well which I appreciate. The office has clients coming in and out in a very friendly relaxed environment but she is very quick so if you're in a hurry this would be a great place for you. read more

My first visit - she was very thorough - asked me what my issues were and also educated me about my spine and how she could help. My first visit was about three weeks ago. I had knee pain and sore joints. After my first adjustment - I fell lighter on my feet and more relaxed. My visit started a bit weird but ended great. I really wanted to keep the 5 star rhythm going, but it just wouldn't feel right. Let me break it down. I purchased a Groupon for $39 which includes a consultation, an exam and 1 adjustment. I called immediately after purchasing and set a late appointment for the following Tuesday. The receptionist informed me Tuesdays were the only days that the Dr. is available for late appointments. She had 6:15, which was too early since I get out at 6, and 6:30 wasn't available so she told me 7 pm will do - just try to get there earlier than 7. Cool, I can do that I can be there by 6:30-45, I thought. I arrived at 6:45 and I immediately got weird vibes from the girl up front - as if they weren't expecting me. The receptionist (different from the one I spoke with whose name turned out to be Renee) said she had me down for 6:30. I told her it was for 7 and I was told to come earlier. She tells me they close at 7 but it should be fine. OK! I get to filling out my paperwork. The receptionist informs Dr. Lila that I'm her last patient and then it got very awkward. Dr. Lila then tells her that's the not possible because she wasn't previously informed. I interject and confirm that I indeed have a 7 pm appointment and we kind of go back and forth then she says "No problem, I'll cancel my plans". I felt like she was pretty much calling me a liar but then says hey no biggie I'll just cancel my plans that you just ruined unintentionally. I was mainly annoyed because why would Renee mention that Tuesdays are the later days if that wasn't the case? Maybe Renee snuck me in to do me a favor - who knows. I go into the room and wait for Dr. Lila and she came in and sort of apologized and we chalked it up to a misunderstanding. We spent some time talking about my back pain and what causes it, my previous chiro care, concerns/issues, my headaches, etc. She examined my spine and told me I needed to get my neck aligned - which was a hard limit for me. I told her I've heard horror stories but she she assured me it would be fine and she's very skilled in neck alignments. I trusted her and just wanted my pain to go away. As soon as she felt my muscles relax, she went for it and it was over in a second. Completely painless - very relieving. She also aligned my lower back, between my shoulder blades (which had the most tension) and I instantly felt like I was 4 inches taller and as light as a feather. It's amazing what a "back crack" can do. I appreciated that Dr. Lila did much more than what the Groupon allowed which shows that she cares about the patient's needs. After some chatting, she turned out to be a really cool, down to earth person and I'm glad our introduction didn't affect my consultation. I asked about insurance, follow up sessions, and she gave me all I needed without once being pushy about it, even offered tips on exercises and recommended a yoga site. I've been to several chiros and all they care about is the $$$. Overall, the results trump anything and I definitely want to return to alleviate my chronic back pain some more, but in just in 24 hours I have no back pain whatsoever from those adjustments. read more

Dr.Wolfe is awesome!!!! I constantly feel like I am slumping in my chair due to bad posture. I feel like I stand taller after one adjustments. Granted, I don't have as serious problems as some people out there, but if you feel sluggish and have problems with posture, I would highly recommend her. I mangled my back playing squash in 2011. I spent a week working from "the floor" of my apt as I couldn't stand up without dealing with the most intense mind-bending back pain I have ever experienced. So, I managed to crawl down Wall St to see Lila. I think it's fair to say Lila started fixing/healing/correcting my back issues right away during that first session. I went to see Lila for probably two weeks afterwards, normally twice a day, after which I was able to walk with absolutely no pain (turns out it was a herniated disc after having an MRI). Ongoing - I try to visit Lila once a week to get adjusted, I always feel so much better after an adjustment, I think that's a sign of a pretty amazing doctor! Lila is amazing. Your first visit with her will be incredibly thorough. She takes an xray and walks you through exactly what you need to know about your body and alignment. Then she gets to work. While I initially went to her for neck pain, she has done miracles to attend to my running injuries. When she noticed my hips were off alignment, I explained that I was also having foot pain. In one quick adjustment she was able to release all of the pain I had in my foot. My ankle had been popping for years and I had actually had to drop out of the NYC marathon because doctors told me I was developing arthritis in my 20s. Under Lila's care the pain was literally gone and for the first time the next morning, when I got out of bed and my feet hit the ground, my feet didn't make the usual crackle-pop sound that I thought I would always have. Now that I'm training again for the marathon, I've made Lila a regular part of my treatment. She is quick, effective and I always leave the office with a great sense of energy. I don't toss around the word genius often (well, not that often), but in this case I mean it (seriously). After suffering for more than ten years with chronic, debilitating neck pain and then recently herniating a disk in my lower back after a couple of very geriatric falls, Dr. Wolfe is the ONLY practitioner - and I have seen every orthopedist, acupuncturist, massage therapist, etc. out there - that was able to relieve my pain. Just a few visits to Dr. Wolfe and I felt better than I had since before my injuries. Years of painkillers didn't provide half the relief that a visit to her provided. I continue to see her regularly and honestly believe that my overall health is improving as well. Dr. Wolfe is amazing! I went in to see her with a major back issue very recently. I had thrown out my back and could not get comfortable and could not fully straighten up. Dr. Wolfe came into the examining room and we spoke about what was going on with my back. Dr. Wolfe gave me an adjustment and I was upright and almost pain-free on that first visit. Before saying anything else - this was my first visit to a Chiropractor ever, but i was treated by Orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapy, osteopathy etc. I came to see Dr. Wolf after reading the amazing reviews here. Suffering from terrible neck pains that lasted for three weeks I was hoping to get some kind of relief from the treatment. Unfortunately the treatment was not a success, and since then things had pretty much become worse. Dr. Wolf approach after looking at my X-rays is that this is not a big deal and after 10 minutes of alignments i'd feel good again. With a chronic back condition i've seen many specialists over the years, Dr. Wolf approach was not thorough, serious or helpful. The super aggressive alignments might help some but I don't see how it's effective for heavily inflamed areas. Definitely made my condition worse. While i appreciate the effort and that maybe the Dr's treatment is helpful for some, i would strongly recommend not to go there. read more

Dr. Lila Wolfe is the sweetest and most amazing chiropractor ever. I never had any serious back problems, but I was feeling stiff and misaligned which was annoying in my yoga practise - plus sometimes my back muscles would just get really tight and sore (which I thought was just part of me working out so much, but turns out it was due to misalignment). I knew that my pelvis was tilted forward a bit as various yoga teachers had told me that was the cause of my stiffness. So I felt overly prepared when I walked in into my first exam. Dr. Lila Wolfe listened to me bragging about all my little pains and issues, and then examined me very thoroughly. She immediately found out that the stiffness I was experiencing wasn't due to my muscles not being stretchy enough as I had always thought - it was because my lumbar spine was completely locked, thus not allowing much movement and resulting in my chest & shoulders always making these crackling and popping noises when I stretched (again I thought that was just normal..). Also she found out that my pelvis was not only tilted forward, but also twisted to one side which suddenly explained why I always hold my head to one side (and I thought that was just a little spleen I had).. After hanging out on the super relaxing back-stretch-table-machine that warms up the spine for the adjustments (seriously, this table is SO WONDERFUL!), she adjusted my middle back - CRACK it made and suddenly I felt a rise of energy going through my body. As an avid yoga practitioner I know how much body and emotions go hand in hand, but additionally I learned that because all major nerves run through the spine, basically all inner organs are also connected to a poor posture. After that middle-back crack, she also adjusted my hip and my shoulders/neck and helped to promote the natural curve in my neck - sitting in front of a computer all day and looking down on my phone, my head was hanging down a little and I got headaches on a regular base. Well, that got significantly better through the adjustments! Dr. Lila Wolfe took her time to explain everything in detail and answer all my questions (and believe me, I had a lot of questions!). The best thing though happened in the next few days - my spine suddenly felt all bouncy and wonderful, the stiffness of my spine was gone and I finally could do all the fancy yoga poses I always thought just weren't for me - the unlocking of my middle back sections truly did wonders! Other side effects - I don't feel stiff anymore when I get out of bed in the morning (well, I thought that was just the effect of getting older), I look skinnier (because my hips were tilted forward, my stomach was always pushed out as well - standing up straight suddenly makes me look like a mega babe!), and am so crazily flexible all of a sudden that my yoga teacher is jealous ;) Even though everything feels great even after the first visit, unfortunately the unhealthy habits and muscle memory need a bit more work than that. Of course I continued to sit in front of computers all day, so that I needed more adjustments. If you are looking for a one-time-fix, this might not be for you. However, each time your body get adjusted, it lasts a little bit longer - I've been five times now and feel and act way straighter, are much more flexible, and have learned so much about my body. Additionally, Dr. Lila Wolfe is a super charming person, a great listener, and a fascinating character. Highly recommended to come here! read more

Dr. Wolfe is incredible! She helped me through my 3rd trimester when I was having major hip and back pains. I went to her on a weekly basis and she aligned and adjusted me and soothed all my pains away. When my due date arrived, I delivered on time, no issues and I was in labor for only 27 mins! Fastest ever! And this is my first baby! I still continue to go for adjustment post pregnancy because she really does a great job with helping me with my posture and recovery stage. She worked on me before even looking at xrays. I remember she kept trying to adjust my lower back and how painful it was for me. She was unprofessional to do that before asking for an xray. Turned out that she caused me incredible pain for a year. I just found her disingenuous and thought she was sub par in every way. She's a great saleswoman though and draws clients in that way. I would not allow her to work on me under any circumstances. You really must beware with chiropractors and of your homework. If you have anything beyond needing a quick adjustment and it is serious, these people can literally cripple you. read more

I had an appointment for my first consult this Wednesday with Dr. Wolfe. I planned on coming back but not after my encounter with her receptionist Rene. Note: when I made my appointment by phone prior, I told the receptionist (after giving all my information) that I confirmed with my insurance that I met my out of pocket maximum which includes all co-payments. Anyway, after my initial visit as I was leaving the receptionist (I believe her name is Rene) insisted I pay a co-pay for a specialist. However, I was advised by my insurance company many times over prior to my visit that Dr. Wolfe is in network and I have no co-payment obligations under my plan. So (despite Rene's insistence that I pay NOW), I called my insurance just to make sure I understood my plan. But even after insurance confirmed on the phone to me and Rene that ZERO co-pay applies to my visit, Rene still insisted I pay. I did not feel free to go unless I paid what Rene said I should pay even though my insurance confirmed to both of us on the phone that I have 0 obligation to pay a penny. She was not at all kind or patient throughout this process. She did not even consider the fact that maybe she could be wrong. Rather, she acted like she knew better than even the representative on the phone as to what my particular plan covers. She treated me like I was "trying to get away" with something. My insurance suggested & I asked Rene to send me a bill for whatever insurance doesnt cover for my visit b/c I am 100% confident it would be covered 100% but even then, and even after speaking direclty with my insurance Rene insisted I pay before I leave. I didn't feel free to leave. Rene even mentioned a few times that if I leave without paying now it would cost me MORE. Why should it cost more for the same service? If she said it to intimidate or threaten me -- that's messed up and unethical. If she said it intending to act on it, then I think that's illegal. With all this headache I told Rene I am cancelling my next week's appointment at which point she stated then I really should pay the co-pay NOW. As long as Rene is there I am never setting foot in there again. This is the worst I've ever been treated in any professional office and I wish I never gave them my time or business. FOLLOW UP: The next day I called to confirm my appt of 8/1 was cancelled and after confirming it was cancelled the receptionist curtly hung up on me. Clearly it seems they talk about their patients and don't care to even address what they've done wrong. read more

Back in December 2013, I acquired what I termed "frozen left shoulder" - since I didn't do anything to injure it and simply woke up one morning and could not lift it. I went to Lila in February 2014 on the advise of a good friend and after 3 visits - I am able to move my entire arm without a stitch of pain. Its really quite remarkable. My girlfriend who was 34 weeks pregnant at the time had a baby in Breech position. (meaning the babies head was upright instead of facing down, which usually happens around week 34.) Not wanting to do any procedures that would cause trauma to the baby we opted for a chiropractic method. After only 2 visits to Dr. Lila the baby successfully flipped to the head down position. I decided to finally go to the chiropractor for the first time and boy was it the right decision. Not enough great things to say about Dr. Wolfe. She was kind, happy, and really explained every step of the process to me. She didn't make one move without explaining what is was and the benefits, not to mention she used lots of metaphors and analogies to make sure that I actually understood what she was saying. The whole process was great and I had no soreness from my first adjustment at all. The office had a really relaxing decor and vibe. The woman at the front desk was also really nice and helpful.
