My husband and I visited Hocking Hills for a small day-long getaway and had a BLAST at the Hocking Hills Canopy Tours. We did the X-tour and highly recommend it. We originally booked the 1:10pm tour, but we when showed up at 12:30pm as instructed were told that our tour was cancelled (no one else had booked this time and were too few guides to accommodate both tours) and we were joined with the 1:30pm tour. Though we didn't mind this, the staff in the clubhouse offered the opportunity for us to experience the Super Zip Zipline while we waited at no additional cost. This was so kind and professional of them and we sincerely appreciated the chance to experience the Zipline. It was awesome and the staff who helped us (Country, Shorty, & Devon I believe?) were wonderful. Now onto our X-tour. I can't say enough about our wonderful guides- Ryan & Aly. Both were so much fun. Ryan was a blast. He should actually consider a side-gig in stand up comedy! Shoutout to Ryan's mom, Ann, well done in raising such a fun, bright guy! (You'll understand this if you go on Ryan's tour). As for Aly--she was sweet, patient, and so at ease in her role. We loved chatting with her! Now for the course itself: we had never ziplined before but had a blast and caught on quickly. Our X-tour consisted of 11 zip lines with one taking you into a recessed cave! Our guides shared interesting insights into the nature preserve along the way which only added to the experience. While we were placed with a larger group (which made wait times a bit more as you waited for you turn to go), the guides kept the humor and conversation flowing so you never felt bored. We had a fantastic crew this weekend. Cheyenne and Taylor were so much fun. The zips were really cool, plenty of them, the views were beautiful, the price was worth it and our guides added to our fun. We were a large group who can be a bit overwhelming but they fit in with us like we had known them forever. I also LOVE that they take your pictures and send them to you for FREE, most companies would charge you a fortune and a lot of people would not buy them and miss out on those photo memories since you can't take your phone (for obvious reasons). Hunter and David were fantastic tour guides for my first ever canopy tour. I'd never done zip lining like that and I was certainly nervous when I got up there. Hunter and David were confident, safe, and supportive, as well as fun and entertaining. The tour lasted a couple of hours with various lengths of zip lines and bridges, and my friends and I had a blast. It was exhilarating and fun. I'm afraid of heights but felt secure with Hunter and David. Thank you! I had so much fun on the original tour that I want to come back to try the X Tour. I think we'll be back the next time we are in the area! And this time, I think I might also bring my kids (both almost 9) to do the Dragonfly course. Cheyenne was such an amazing guide for the Segways. A group of 4 of us were visiting for my husbands 40th. There was a range of comfort and nerves and Cheyenne was an amazing coach. I called on a Tuesday to make reservations for 2 Dragonfly tickets for the coming weekend; knowing it was likely going to be busy (Easter/spring break weekend). I was told reservations weren't needed. You could just come in any time from 11-5. We showed up that weekend and was asked for our reservation information. When I told them that I called several days prior and was told no reservations were needed, they said, "Yeah, we're really busy now. So now you need one." Or we could wait two hours for a time slot; which was not an option because we had to have rentals returned by then. Perhaps you shouldn't misguide people... always take a reservations from someone who calls days ahead regardless of "normal" practice. *** All of the people standing there getting to take their kids ziplining that day all obviously inquired AFTER us! read more

Justin and Claire were our ziplining guides, and were funny as well as informative. I felt completely safe as they were consistent in their instructions. The views were beautiful, and the various zip lines were high, long, and fast, and we saw deer as we passed, a pond, the river, and of course the waterfall in the cavern we entered. Did the X-Tour today. Not all that different from the regular tour but does have a few better, longer, faster lines. Johann and Todd were great guides. Would ask for them if I came back. We have never been zip lining before. Our friends have been to Hocking Hills Canopy Tours so we choose this company based on their recommendation. We choose the X tour. It was a lot of fun. Miller and Sara were our guides. I was so nervous in the beginning but the guides were very safety conscious which put me at ease and I was able to enjoy myself and have fun. Even a 47 year old woman can canon ball it down a zip line! I was nervous that zip lining would be jerky or one of us would get hurt but it was not like that at all. It was very safe. This was my first time zip lining and I Loved It! Our guides were great and tons of fun. I went with a wedding party prior to the big event and we all had a blast. Even Grandma loved it! I think this is great for people of all ages. You do need to be a little bit "in shape" or at least agile because you will be flying through the trees and you do your own braking. I wasn't the least bit scared and in fact, I think it made me want to learn how to repel. Our guides even suggested locations in the area for me to go repelling! It does seem expensive but we were out for about an hour and a half total. I think the usual tour is supposed to last approximately an hour, although our fabulous guides said we were so much fun they stretched our tour. I'd highly recommend this company. Everyone was nice and professional. The bathrooms at the check-in area were clean and nice. I didn't feel dirty or like I was "camping". If you're in the neighborhood, check this place out. Spent a weekend camping with some old friends in the Hocking HIlls area and one of my buddies found this place online -- so we decided to go check it out. Upon arrival, the place looked pretty crowded. Lots of cars in the parking lot (it was a Saturday) and lots of people in/around the main office location. We had to wait a few minutes to get through the line, but were eventually met by 2 very nice (and good-humored) staffers. We hadn't made any reservations, so they informed us that all the canopy tours were booked for the day. Fine by us -- we were there for what they call "SuperZip." SuperZip, according to the woman who drove us up to the zip tower location, was their response to people wanting a "higher, longer, faster" and more extreme zipline experience. As this was my first experience and I'm somewhat the adventurous type... that sounded right up my alley. So we originally paid $30 each for one time down the zip. Figured that would be sufficient. What we didn't realize though, was that the first time you go down the quarter-mile-ish zipline, you have to go in the seated position. Not "superman" style... as the name implies. (Basically, you're suspended in a little hammock-type thing and go down on your stomach, rather than in the seated position.) A little bit of a bummer, but once we all got to the bottom the first time and heard several other zippers say things like "Super is wayyy better!" "So much faster!" "So glad we paid for the extra rides!" -- we immediately decided to re-up for the extra rides. No problem either. We just went back to the top of the tower, where they re-punched our wristbands and we just paid before leaving. (Mostly on an honor-system, mind you. I'm pretty sure we could've gotten out of there without paying the extra $20 for the 2 additional "superman" rides.) All that aside, it was a great experience for all of us. One of my friends had been ziplining in South American and said that the lines were a little shorter than what he was hoping for... but the speed was fun and the views were pretty awesome too. The staff was friendly, good-humored -- and I really did feel safe. It is a bit daunting though if you're not the adventurous type... 2 people just ahead of me backed out on their first "superman" style rides. This place is a MUST!!!! We heard about this from one of the flyers that we grab on our first night in town. There are three zip lining companies here in Logan. We drove past one of them on our way to camp and I wrote this idea of fun off as a joke. My husband however, saw this flyer and said he wanted to do this. I honestly thought it was pricey until I knew what all came in the package. You get to zip on 10 zip lines. The guides are fun and friendly. Our two had our group laughing the entire 3 hours. The groups are limited to 8 people. Since it was just my husband and I, we were paired up with a family of 6. They were great and all of us had a good time joking around. I was the only one of our group with any zip experience, but it didn't matter. The guides show you everything from start to finish. Safety is always first, but fun is a close second. The course is just beautiful!! The guides told us about the different trees at each landing platform and about what we were seeing. It really is a great way to get up close and personal with nature. My husband and I also opted to add the SuperZip to our tour. YOU MUST DO THIS!!!! It is sooooooo worth the extra cash. You get to zip laying down and if you ever wanted to know what it was like to soar like a bird or fly like Superman, this is truly a unique experience. I had no idea what we were in for an this was the best time of the day!! While the ride seems short, it is actually a 1/4 mile zip. We also heard they do night zips. The guides told us that they put glow sticks on their wrists and in your helmets. We wish we had know about that because I guarantee we would still be there doing that!! Best experience ever! Travel with family members from 5 to 65. Everyone had a great time. Kids really enjoyed the dragon fly course. We went one night and all did the Canopy Tour with Jeremiah and Abby and they did a Great Job. Really at only $89 it is a steal and would do it again. Actually on our next vacation I am going to do a search of Canopy Tours and it was really great and quite a thrill! Stop by and do this if you are in the Hocking Hills Area! Next year they are adding a kids course - right now it is really for kids 70 lbs and up, but will have a course for smaller kids soon. I had a blast doing the zip line canopy tour and the super zip. I'd been wanting to zip line and a friend kindly made reservations to celebrate my old age. We were here in fall and the weather was absolutely perfect. A little fall chill in the air but hot in the sun. The guides definitely worked hard to make sure you were having fun and had lots of terrible jokes that you will appreciate by the end of the tour. We did the super zip first which was definitely worth it because it's the closest thing to flying you can do besides being the human cannonball at the circus. We then went on our tour with a few other groups of people. Take your time up there and enjoy being up in the trees. Some of the scenery was amazing as you are zipping around the forest and river. How often are you 40-60 feet in the air hanging off a platform in a forest? The photographer was quite a character and had us cracking up. I'm not sure if it was a ploy or she just escaped from a mental institution but either way you were smiling when she took your picture and gave us something to laugh about later. My friend said that it would make your abs sore the next day and I did not believe her but yes, my abs were blasted. There seemed to be a lot of patrons smoking around the lobby and waiting areas and that was the only thing I found annoying. I will definitely come back and try the x tour which you could see sometimes from our platforms and it looked even more amazing. read more

Neither of us had been on a zip line before, but our tour guides (Nick and Preston) made sure we knew what to do before we took off.
