Every time I've been in, I've been treated with respect. Prices are fair, too. The only time I had a somewhat awkward experience was when I was 7 months pregnant and went in at Christmas time to purchase a bottle of Irish Cream as a gift. But in their defense, they were probably worried that I was preggy and boozing. That said, this store will be getting ALL of our business moving forward.

The layout of the store makes it easy to move around and find what you are looking for without getting overwhelmed by the selections. Elli's friendly and welcoming nature makes you want to stay just for conversation. Everytime I go in there I feel as if I never left the neighborhood. I have learned so much from her and always love her selections and recommendations. Since I found her I have only had 2 bottles of wine that I did not like for myself, but were loved by my guests when I served them. So no loss for either. She has recommended wine for a wine tasting I did 10 years ago and friends still ask about those wine. I make sure to tell friends about Elli's Wine cellar. Her knowledge about wines and the grapes that make them is immeasurable to me and I am so glad I met her. I no longer live in Weymouth but I try to get in there to see her (and buy wine) when I can. I never leave with less than 2 boxes and as I have already stated never disappointed. Life has kept me away in recent years but I am making a trip to see Elli soon. Hopefully I will leave with enough to hold me over until the next time I have a gap in my busy schedule to make the trip to Weymouth. I would love to catch up, say hello, enjoy the conversation, gain more knowledge about my choices and of course to leave with my regular purchase of the best wines I have ever purchased anywhere. I don't even need to stock my apt with booze because I can fall out my kitchen window and land in their wine aisle. This place is close. Real close. But thankfully it's also good at doing what it's supposed to do. The people who work there are sweethearts and they have a pretty decent selection for a smaller, neighborhood joint. They keep the prices reasonable, stock everything from 40s to your girlfriend's favorite vino (and I'd know wink,wink) and are ready to help you out if you have any questions. Also true story - I was in here years back buying some liquids and minding my own business and a guy behind me in line kept commenting on my outfit and how I "really look like I'm from Boston..." After me and the guy behind the counter exchanged a quiet look the fella says "Oh, I'm a location director for a movie being filmed around here." Yeaaaaahhhh....sure buddy. Fast forward a little whiles and I'm catching "Gone, Baby Gone" in the theatre and Casey Affleck is rocking my exact outfit through half the movie. Now I don't want to take full credit for that film, but I"ll take like 80% of the credit for that film. Oh yeah, shop at Eagle Liquors. Place is good.

They've always got Sam plus the seasonal, same with Harpoon and your other beer staples. And you'll probably find whatever liquor you're looking for. I wouldn't mind seeing more beer variety, but for what it is - the small, local liquor store - they do a great job. Plus there's a great pizza place (see review for Pantry Pizza & Kitchen) across the street, and what's better than beer and pizza to start off your weekend?
