I can not for the life of me understand the negative reviews here. Macy's has been my go-to liquor store for more than a decade, as it's conveniently located for me, has decent prices, and most importantly to me, has the best customer service! All these reviewers complain about bad customer service, but I've literally never had that happen. And I'm in there quite a bit, for the white wine I sometimes enjoy with dinner, for wine to bring to dinners and parties, and for whiskey gifts for my husband and father. Without fail, I am always greeted at some point in my visit by a friendly, attentive Macy's employee, offering to help me out. I've on occasion asked for suggestions and had them gladly given to me (and they've been helpful and accurate!) Everybody in here has consistently been ridiculously friendly, and always have a pleasant smile. What more can you possibly want? I've been to other liquor stores in the area and had some really unfriendly cashiers, to the point where I often find myself sorry I didn't go to Macy's instead! That's how content I've been shopping here. As far as the ID issue goes. . . Folks, this is a liquor store. If you're going in here, bring an ID. I have many times been carded at a variety of liquor stores when I was not the one making the actual purchase. This is not an unusual practice. I also know of several shops where they ask for your ID regardless of how old you look. For instance, at another local store selling alcohol, the cashier can not force the register to total and ring you out until she has typed in your birth date, because the store management has decided the safest thing to do is to have every single person's ID checked, and that way, they don't run the risk of assuming someone is old enough when they are not. I suspect the reason Macy's is so vigilant with their carding practices is something similar; it's easier to just have all your employees card everyone than to try to set up some sort of rule about guessing how old a person or group of people appear to be and hope nobody ever makes a mistake. And finally, there have been several comments about the "kids" working here. First of all, it's not possible for any of the employees to be under 18 because that's the law in this state, so all of these employees are adults. Secondly, why do you care how old the employees are? Is there some sort of extra enjoyment you'd get out of being served by, say, a 60 year old man, instead of a 27 year old? Is it just jealously because you are a saggy, aged alcoholic and you can't stand seeing people who still have unblemished lives ahead of them? Okay, jokes aside. . . I don't really understand the age discrimination thing. I don't really care how old a person working a register is as long as they are friendly and do a good job, and everyone I've encountered has met that requirement for me. All of the previous Yelp reviews are totally outdated. I used to only come when I was driving by, but now I drive farther from home to Macy's to support kind and genuine people who help with anything I need without being pushy and are good to talk to. Brandi is so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Just a down-to-earth person, always seems happy to be there, which makes me think there's a lot of good stuff going on in this business. There was this guy there named Nut who ran the place with excellent customer service in mind. He would always remember your name and was very pleasant. The "kid" who runs the place now knows nothing about customer service and doesn't hold the staff accountable to make up for his weakness. The staff is rude and act like they don't appreciate your business at all. They have a nice selection but I rather go elsewhere and pay more to have a place give me some common curiosity for my business. It's a real shame. read more

Probally the worse liquor store in the area. If you have two people make sure one stays in car. This store has a stupid rule that everyone that walks in must have an ID. Does not matter If your 85 and walk in with your wife if she does not have an ID with her that won't let you purchase. The staff looks like crap. Overall the selection is decent. Prices are ok. The staff are absolutely rude and atrocious. Normally, I don't post reviews but after last night I needed to post my experience here. Last night was New Year's Eve. I stopped for a few bottles of wine. Usually, it's a quick in and out experience with no issues. Two cashiers were working the front. One casually standing and the other checking out the customer in front of me. I was on the phone standing there waiting for the cashier to cash me out. The occupied cashier finishes with the customer and now they are both standing there. Looking at each other and saying nothing to me. At this point another customer is in line behind me and I've been standing there for a good 3 minutes. They look over me and ask the other person if they are ready. I step up and said, "Is there a problem? I've been standing here the whole time." I get a snarky reply from the cashier that stood there the entire time saying, "Well you were on the phone." Really? That's your customer service? I don't need to have a conversation with you while I check out. I am able to do two things at once, and I told her just that. I'm here giving you my business and buying some wine. Now, she asks for my ID. Which is fine. Then proceeds to run it through the machine which takes a minute(I'm not even close to 21). I'm standing there on the phone furious now and she knows it. I told her she was rude. She says, "You can swipe your card now!" Acting like she's now waiting on me. She was still running my ID and it wasn't even given back to me. So she approved the sale before she knew I was 21+ then decides to be rude again! If you want rude customer service then this place won't disappoint. You lost a customer. I'll be stopping at the store up the street. read more

We love this place. Best prices in the area. The service is knowledgeable and accommodating. Highly recommend. Glad to know that they card people who look under age. Law abiding packy. I probably go here once a week, other day another person was with me age 30, I went to counter as my friend left the store. I was told I could not purchase anything because the other person did not have an ID. I'm well past 50 and told them he was not buying anything just me but they said No Sale. That's my last trip to that store, so many others close by. I could understand if two 21 something's came into store and one had no ID. This is a store rule, if you come in with anyone else they have to show an ID, even if not making a purchase or if they buy some non alcoholic product. I will not go in that place again. read more

Very rude and disrespectful staff. The hours are also not as convenient as many other liquor stores. I would recommend everyone go down to the street to any other liquor store than this one such as jessy's liquors. Overall was an extremely unpleasant experience resulting in me not making any purchases. read more

Macy's has the best selection of whiskeys within a ~10 mile radius, at least three very knowledgeable staff members, and excellent customer service. On the rare occasion when I request something missing from their stock, a staff member will invariably check with their inventory and/or suppliers to find it. This fine establishment is my go-to local purveyor of spirits. They earn this distinction the hard way: with great selection, fair prices, and intelligent staff. read more
