I don't know where the other three reviewers were at but it was NOT here. We walked in as strangers on a Friday night and left as friends. The Bartender/owner was very friendly and took great care of us even though the bar was full. They really move the food on Friday nights. I had the Walleye with potato salad and coleslaw. Both homemade and delicious. Yes, the potato salad has eggs in it but anyone who has ever been to a potluck in the midwest knows that. Two large walleye fillets coked to perfection. Crispy breading outside and tender, moist and flaky inside. Some of the best I have ever had. My wife had the Surf and Turf. Three jumbo shrimp and a steak cooked medium rare and tender. Wow, worst service I have ever had. Drinks were sloshed on the table, drinks forgotten, slow service (intentional?), requested ranch was not brought out, waited on our bill and noticed the server was outside smoking, just a few things to name. As a fellow server I have patience and understanding as I know things happen that are unavoidable and you can have a bad night but the evident distain she expressed in having to spend her Friday evening working and bringing us drinks and food (gasp!) was jaw dropping. Still left almost 20% for tip, trying to show kindness to those who aren't kind. At the end of our meal another server, who may have been part of management, asked how our meal was. I was hesitant to say anything but did mention the service was bad and she apologized and I could tell she cared. In regards to the food it was good but night was already ruined. read more

So here's the deal, know i would give the service staff 5 stars. They were bustlin and very attentive to the needs of customers. And in respobse to the terribly long wait we had, they did not charge us for any drinks or the pizza we ordered. That being said all we ordered was a pizza and it was over an hour and a half before we got it. When we did get it, the pizza was over-cooked, smaller than we expected, and was a little too salty. There were people who walked in, ordered, ate, and left between when we ordered and got our food. Who we assumed was the owner was very rude when we asked about their daily specials and seemed rude towards her staff. In conclusion, i wish the bartender and waitress could work somewhere more deserving of their courtesy. read more

Delicious Saturday night Prime Rib! I would recommend the twice baked potato to go along with the Prime Rib. Our waitress was great. She single handily managed juggling 3 roles: hostess, waitress and bus girl. She more than earned her tips tonight! Thank you for a wonderful meal! read more

Well first and fore most I have never been somewhere on a Friday night and had to wait an hour and a half. 2nd the service was AWFUL if you like being treated like a no body and getting major attitude from the hostess when you ask how much longer your going to have to wait! I'm from California and I don't think that was the best example of a "Friday night" fish fry. The food was good, I don't necessarily like eggs in my potato salad but the fish was good. It just doesn't make it such a pleasant experience when you have to wait an hour and a half especially when you can tell they are seating other big parties before you "the good ol boy system." It's a small town bar, but it's my favorite small town bar. Great shrimp and fish fry on fridays. A favorite wing spot on thursdays "a little small but for the price order more" with good sauce. It can get busy, with a little wait when i'm in a group "6-8 people". One of my local favorites overall. read more

Fish fry has gone downhill. Ordered poor man's and it was dry, portion small. Had so.e sort of sweet herb and dry butter seasoning on it which further ruined it. Waitress got my husband's order wrong and we were the only table. Friday specials are 2, count em 2 pieces of shrimp with 2 small pieces of fish. Portions just too small for what you pay $11. Used to be a great reliae fish fry but won't be back..Other menu items limited. Burger less than average. read more

Menu straight out of 1973.. Grease n more Grease.. Only non fried entree on Friday evening is something called poor mans lobster... Brought most of it home in a box and not even the cats will eat it.. Tasted NASTY.. Dry rye bread and warm potato salad.. waitress brought out little bowls of coleslaw with 3 of the six servings/bowls coleslaw strands dragging on her tray and then on the slightly sticky table.. Terrible service, bartenders are slow wait staff sucks. If you are patient and don't mind this they have a excellent fish fry. Portion size for the fish is great but they need to up the fries you get with it, 1/2 cup just isn't enough. I personally feel if you'd get decent bartenders and wait staff this place would do great! read more
