My husband and I went to this restaurant for dinner that was right next to the hotel we were staying at. Since we did not make reservations beforehand, we just sat at the bar. The waitress that was serving us was very nice and quick on her feet. I had a Blue Lagoon for a drink which was sour but very good. For dinner, I had bacon Mac and cheese and Cajun potato wedges. Everything was delicious! For dessert, my husband and I split the chocolate bomb which was also quite nice. Lovely theming. Very American. Food is reasonably priced, however, the service is terrible. We had a booking & when we entered the place was about a third full. Despite this, it took a full 20 minutes for our server to come take our order. We were just starting to order & he bizarrely left us to take another table's order. The place is a contradiction. It's got a rough and tough biker vibe and decor with bras hanging from the bar and yet mostly families come to eat here. And there's no hard rock or heavy metal music to go with the decor. The burgers looked great and the menu touted some special ingredient hamburger meat but that flavor was vacant in my burger. Advice: I'd recommend putting rashers, irish sausage or white pudding in the meat and lots of spices or herbs to add flavor. Tone down the biker theme and target your family audience or play up the biker theme and add heavy metal and have the hosts and bartenders dress like bikers. Either go big to match your outdoor signage or change it guys. read more

I have been to Hogs & Heifers a number of times with differing opinions on it with every visit. Due to it being close to home, I guess it's probably just going to be one of those places I'll hit irregularly when the feeling hits. Last time I was here was the worst. The place, I felt had started strongly and just mostly disimproved with each visit (not bad enough not to come back though obviously). But the last time we had the nachos and something else and it was pretty brutal. We both said at the time, that's the last time...... Until yesterday haha. Was going to do TGI's but had sudden change of heart at last minute. We shared the chicken wings (Louisiana style) and the ribs. Both were excellent, as good as when we first started going here and in my opinion, would have been at home at the BBQ Festival at Herbert Park that weekend!! We were given the worst table in the restaurant right beside the kitchen. Sitting there listing to cutlery and staff shouting at each other, I requested to staff we moved to a better table, to which she scowled at me and sighed with (I,LL CHECK OK!!) Came back ...(NO , WERE FULL UP!) OK, moved on, food arrived, slightly cold, steak the size of a grape, small bucket with about 10 chips in it and some sauce.... Desert was a glass with some cold brownies thrown into it with some chocolate sauce poured on top not too nice. Waitress brought us the wrong wine, white not red.... I ordered the fish and chips. The cod was fried hard and the burnt lemon gave it the perfect added flavor. My chips were good although I had small pieces, almost like the bottom of the batch. My husband enjoyed his steak. The tartar sauce had a piece of red hair in it. The waitress took it away and brought me a new one. It was good and definitely had a homemade taste to it. I ordered a pina colada which was awful. It was the worst I have ever had. The waitress did offer to take it off my bill since I didn't drink it. She offered to bring me a new one. I asked for a sprite instead. They were also out of the Alaskan dessert. My food was definitely a 4/5, the mishaps with the food and drink made it a 3/5. read more

With flight cancellations and surprise last minute hostels, we scrambled to find somewhere to eat within walking distance of our airBnB that would provide a nice, sit down meal without breaking the bank. Hogs & Heifers was it. Two meals and a beer for €24, can't complain. My steak sandwich was filling, and my boyfriend's veggie burger was perhaps the best we've had in a long time. The crisps were excellent too! An unfamiliar flavour to us as tourists, maybe like a salty, vinegar-y bbq? Not sure. Any way, they were awesome. We left with happy, full bellies. read more

The food here is 3 stars...expensive but tasty. However, this review is solely based on the customer service, or lack thereof, which is why I am only giving it 1 star! A group of us went there to celebrate my birthday, It started off well, the table was available straight away, our order was placed, the drink was bought....2 of our party went to purchase Cigs from the machine on site. However, both of their money was swallowed. Upon discussing this with the staff, they were rudely told it was not their problem, the machines was outsourced and that they would have to contact the number on the machine (which was scratched out). My issues wasn't the fact that they wouldn't sort the money out....it was the very very rude response they got. I then approached the manager, who came across helpful, told me he would sort it out, that there are a number of technicians from the outsourced company that would be driving around and he'd give them a call. He said that he wouldn't want us as customers to be up-happy and walk out of the restaurant €20 down from the machine. So I went back to the table, told everyone that it would be sorted by the time we finish our meal. We ate our food, drank our expensive cocktails...paid our bill....like good little customers. I went back up to the manager to find out if the technicians were contacted. He basically told me that he didn't bother to contact them, sure it was after 5 on Saturday and their'd be none out at that stage. Told me that the 2 lads in our party were telling a bit of a "porky", who'd be stupid enough to put money in the machine without a token. My issue was less about the money but more with the lack of customer service, I was aware that issue could be sorted during the outsourced companies business hours, but I felt it was a "keep me happy until we paid the bill" situation and then tell us...No Sorry, not our problem!! On behalf of all in our group....not one of us will ever set foot in this place again. Sorry but even if they pretended to help, I'd be happier. read more

On second visit to this place i've noted a few things. 1. Food wise, it's pretty average. It's probably last on my bbq list at the minute. I mean it's good. But there are more central places that are better. 2. The service was attentive to the point of annoying while we were eating & then when we tried to pay the bill all the staff in the restaurant gathered together for a chat & left us sitting for what felt like an age. 3. They had a menu full of craft beer but none in stock. Would i return? Maybe if there was a good band on a particular night. But not for the food! read more

The bar stools are freakishly uncomfortable and the tables were all in top of each other!! Staff weren't the most efficient but they were polite so thats a plus!! Hogs and Heifer's is a reliable spot for decent food, having eaten here a couple of times, I've never had any major complaints. The portions are big, so splitting a main with an extra side will leave you plenty satisfied! I really like their ribs (adorned with heaps of crispy onions nom) and their mac n' cheese side is another winner. Less impressive for me are their burgers, mine was incredibly dry (though they are astoundingly huge)and their barbequed chicken which lacked oomph. They also do a lunch offer for €10 which will net you a sandwich, soup and a soft drink - pretty decent value. The food is not going to knock your socks off, but it's a grand place for a bite with friends and you won't leave hungry, that's for sure! read more

Visited Hogs and Heifers a couple of weeks ago. At first I thought it was going to be like TGI Fridays or Captain Americas...but no! The food is definitely a much higher standard and the prices are goof value. I had the prawns with a wasabi dressing to start followed by the rack of ribs. The wasabi dressing was gorgeous....not blow your mouth off hot, just the slightest touch of heat and the rub of the rack of ribs really complimented the tender meat. I'll be back. read more

Well my first time to eat in here today deffo a place for the group of people. Can get very loud not a place for a 1st date more of a 3rd date place lol. Staff are very good friendly and quick. Very rustic and warm feeling. Food is big portions american style. Half a chicken and ribs wit meat falling off the bone. Plenty of parking outside. Reason for not 5 starring is deffo down to the loud noise in the night time very loud. Coffee was amazing i got a cappucino. Very nicely displayed menus altho not much details about what ur actually getting . Bar seems great big selection of beers on tap and in bottle. Deffo will be coming back for another feast. Its more of a place for eating with ur hands as apposed to knife and fork. Hence the kitchen roll on each table . The music is great loads of old 80s rock currently listening to david bowie while enjoying my coffee. Went here today I got the ribs to start ... Not bad then the burger and this is where it all fell to s#%t !! Ok it's 15 euro and called the tower burger so I was expecting a big ass burger but when I got it something was different .... Had all the onion trimmings and salad etc but the burger itself was just nasty! Tasted like it was made 2 weeks ago and had the texture of a rubber tyre!!! I was so disappointed the chips are still good but the slaw has changed slightly not for the better all in all I afraid to say when I first went here I loved the food but today it was just horrible .... If your a BBQ joint get decent BBQ sauce the same smear of brown shop bought tasting BBQ sauce just slathered all over your food it's awful at least give people a choice and have sauces on the tables.... Service was ok nothing too special when we asked for the bill the waitress had a look of disappointment in her face as we were paying by card!!! The 5 euro tip I had went back into the pocket and I matched her disappointed face as 50 for shot food is also disapointing...... Really hope you get your shit together read more

Hogs & Heifers is a great little BBQ/burger joint right next to the Wright Venue in Swords. When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming staff member who showed us to our seats. Our waiter was equally as friendly and helpful. I ordered the Louisiana chicken wings and fries. I got a nice portion of chicken wings for €7.00 which isn't bad at all and some fries on the side. The fries were ok. I'm not a huge fan of fries with potato skins still left on as I find them quite airy. They were fine. My husband opted for the half chicken and rib combo which was a great choice. The chicken was cooked perfectly and tasted lovely. It did have honey mustard drizzled over it which I wouldn't be a fan of but was an interesting take on a chicken sauce. I thought that the ribs were of great quality and tasty which quite a good amount of meat on them. The BBQ sauce was also very tasty and perfectly seasoned. I would definitely recommend these. We were too stuffed for desert but they do have a good desert menu. Maybe next time. Their menu over all is quiet good and reasonably priced.There Is a selection of salads and some vegetarian options. They also have a great selection of burgers and steaks and also fish and chips. I definitely see myself going back to try something different the next time. I've heard good things too about their nachos. They also have some really great back ground music playing too. read more

Shocking service had to get up from the table a number of times to get someone to serve us, really frustrating. Saw manager looking for staff a lot, aswell as cleaning table only for the waitress to come along and pocket the tip. Management need to train the staff to do their job properly, don't mind when staff chat but only if they actually do their job aswell, we are paying customers and expect to be treated better. read more

This place is a sham.... it's like buying a fake $20 gold Rolex watch and then telling all your friends it's real! I have been to the real Hogs & Heifers in Las Vegas many times and have always been welcomed with big hugs, good times and an overwhelming feeling of acceptance! I've seen 1st hand how the real owner of Hogs & Heifers Las Vegas & New York, Michelle has been involved with community and helping people in need... She has a huge heart full of compassion and to see & hear of another business person trying to ripoff her concept & deceive people that this is a legitimate business in Ireland that is associated with H&H is unacceptable!
