Steak on the stone
Darren C.

Whilst the bar/restaurant itself isn't all that (bit tired and weather worn looking) I can't complain about the food itself. They had a good daily specials list up and the prices were very keen. I got the steak on the stone for 12 euro. It came with rustic chops, skin still on and the usual sides. That's a bargain anyway you look at it. It was only my second time getting staek this way and while a bit gimmicky, the ribeye provided was a decent cut of meat. Not a bad shout if you are in the area and peckish!!

Yummy menu!

Great place! Excellent staff and great grub! This is our local and only a 10 min walk from this house. We honestly couldn't praise this place enough. The staff are so friendly and attentive, they server a good pint of Guinness and the food is absolutely amazing. (The salmon and sweet potatoes fries are particularly yummy). The pub is split into two parts. We always frequent the the back part. The decor is lovely and it's always spotless. We are so lucky this place is so close to our house, but even if it is wasn't, we'd make it our business to cab or bus it here. They always have the latests matches too.

Not bad at all if you want to drink some Guinness and watch some soccer.

Great nachos and low-key. Pints were decently priced.

It was so noisy which i know makes me sound ancient but we were having a meal and I literally had to struggle to hear the person sitting next to me. There were also people dancing right beside our table which is really disconcerting when you are eating The food was nothing memorable either good or bad and it's not cheap. The service was very quick but annoyingly as soon as we finished our main course they brought us the bill with no offers of desert or teas/coffees. When we asked they said no that the kitchen was closed. This was a little irritating as we had not been there very long and they didn't tell us when we booked or ordered. I think if they take a booking for a table at 9PM then they need to keep the kitchen open to accommodate that. There was no apology it was just matter of fact. Don't think i'll be back

First thing that hit mevsas the prices. I mean, everything is expensive on the menu, across the board. Like Celtic Ireland prices man!! I went for the Chicken Supreme as I hadn't had it in ages plus the sweet potato and Cajun jus got me interested. The portion was pretty massive and the food was decent. Was disappointed with the sweet potato though, pretty bland tbh. So overall, it's okay but not worth the dosh doled out for me.

I was dropped off in a lovely little village and happened upon The Lord Mayors during my walk. My friends and I were greeted by a very friendly waitress. I got a kick out of seeing what appeared to be 1/2 liter beer/ale glasses but then it WAS a pub in Ireland. The prices were what I considered excellent as well. A bonus was the table full of what I would guess to be local musicians playing "traditional" Irish music, accordions, lots of guitar, a guy with 8-10 various flutes, tin whistles etc, another gentleman had various harmonica's, a drum (Bodhran) player and one of the guitar players had an Irish bouzouki - mandolin - lute kinda thingy that sounded beautiful. In all there were at various times from 9-12 players in all. The session was wonderful, playing the typical goodbye to love forever mixed with foot tapping let's be happy variety of tunes. Growing up listening to Irish music, I felt very much at home sitting there and it fit perfectly with the overall atmosphere of the pub, more like a gathering of friends not seen in a long time verses the euro-centric chic feeling of other places we happened across. If in Swords you could do a lot worse I'm sure, while not an expert on the Irish Pub scene, as I mentioned earlier this was an Irish American's mental image of of a night in Dublin.
