    Panko chicken sandwich/burger

The service and ambiance were good; small little spot next to the river. I ordered the Panko chicken burger/sandwich and enjoyed it. It has an interesting mix of flavors with the cheese and jam. I just felt it was a bit over fried.

The ratings do this establishment justice for their food and while they are at least 4.5, I can't go to 5 on the first visit. I Did not have a reservation but snuck in as a single, the luck of the Irish I suspect! Started out with a prawn appetizer in a garlic oil and red chili pepper sauce that was top notch. The dish came with greens and toasted bread as dipping into the garlic sauce was essential and while this was a great dish that came with four pawns, tail separated, only received 3 tails could be found and suspect it was hiding somewhere in the kitchen! Ordered the steak with fries and greens cooked medium and came out as expected. They might have offered a veggie bust missed the opportunity. Steak was perfectly seasoned with no condiments required and barely any gristle. Paired a half carafe of Cabernet that went perfectly with the meal. The service was excellent and friendly and highly recommend this restaurant while visiting Dublin or if local.

First restaurant I've ate an Ireland (all of Europe really) and the service/staff were very friendly! It's an intimate setting, the food is savory and sweet with a perfect view of the River. Would highly recommend

Named after Phoenix Park nearby, it's a great spot to spend eating dinner. I had their fish and chips. My wife and I loved our food and the service was outstanding. It was a little pricey, but we'll worth it for the quality of food cooked here.

We were staying at the Hilton Garden Village and had walked to St. Patrick's Cathedral to attend services and then to the Guinness Factory. By the time we walked to Phx after that, we were famished! The place is not large, but has nice seating arrangements, and we had a table facing the street. The staff was very attentive and friendly. It was perfect. I had a local IPA while my wife settled for a nice glass of Chardonnay. I was hungry for Fish & Chips, so that was my selection while my wife ordered the daily special, which happened to be a lamb dish. The fish & chips were awesome. Nice big piece of fish laid on top of a big bed of fries that were crisp, golden, and hot. It was served with a tartar sauce and small bed of salad. The entire dish was absolutely delicious. My wife liked the lamb, but felt that it had a bit too much seasoning and was the texture of pulled pork. I really wanted to try some of the other dishes, but since it was our last day in Dublin, we were not able to return for more. Perhaps on our next visit.

We really loved this cozy bistro. All the food is phenomenal. Our waitress was bright and delightful. We'd return in a heartbeat. I particularly was fond of the peanut butter brownie. Oh my!

Steak & Frits + Mushroom Tagliatelle

Came here for the lunch special and got the duck liver parfait and the mushroom tagliatelle. Both dishes were amazing. There was more duck liver then there was bread and the server offered to give me more bread which I kindly accepted. Then came the mushroom tagliatelle which kind of left me speechless...the portion was so big that I was only able to eat half and couldn't finish the other which I was really sad about parting with. Would definitely recommend anyone Dublin to give this place a try.

Wow. Some of the best food I've had this year in this spot. Who knew? Underneath it's 90s style Celtic Tiger-alike decor, this place is an absolute find. Firstly, staff. Absolutely wonderful. Welcomed us practically with open arms when we walked in, the waitress was extremely personable, really knew her stuff, and just a genuine warm person who looks like she enjoys working where she does. A pleasure to deal with from the get-go. Then the food. Wow. We had two courses for 19 euro (or three for 23), and this goes all night - no early bird here. We shared gambas pil pil and chicken wings. Both were outstanding - bursting with flavour, and absolutely huge. I then had for my main, wild mushroom risotto. Again, fresh, light, flavoursome and delicious. They do caraffes of wine, we got the house red which I think may have been a Merlot, though don't quote me on that. Either way it was delicious and we ordered a second.. Now the decor and the outside. They need someone to work on them. It's just not inviting or current enough. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing really offensive about it, it's just that it really doesn't accurately portray the wonders that await you inside, which is a real shame. More people should know about this place, and if they did a little work on it, this review could easily be a five star.

Our first meal in Dublin was at The Old Mill Restaurant, right in the heart of Temple Bar. It's been serving traditional Irish fare since the 1980s and has become a favorite stop for both locals and visitors looking for classic comfort food. After about a 20-minute wait, we were seated in the warm, inviting dining room. Susan ordered the mussels, one of her favorites, while I went with the Traditional Irish Stew and my daughter chose the Braised Beef & Guinness Stew. Both were exactly what we hoped for: hearty, flavorful, and perfect after a day of sightseeing. I finally understood why the Guinness stew had such a rich, dark color, and I have to admit, I came home a big fan of Irish stew. We finished with the Homemade Bread & Butter Pudding topped with fresh cream and custard, a comforting dessert that was the perfect ending to the meal. Service, atmosphere, value, and food were all five out of five. We also enjoyed chatting with the floor manager, whose pride in the restaurant and his team was obvious. That kind of hospitality made a great meal even more memorable.

The mash was too thick and chunky, the bangers were bit overcooked. The mussels was disappointing, seafood chowder was ok. The restaurant is located on the second floor. We made a reservation, but was asked to wait while they cleaned up the table. Unfortunately, the table they wanted to seat us, the folks decided to have a long after dinner conversation, thus we ended up waiting longer than expected. Then they seated us at a larger table after waiting 15 minutes or so. The service was decent... wasn't fan of tipping request, EU needs to stop adopting USA's stupid system :)

Came with two sides, so I had to try the Mac n' Cheese and Baked Beans and it also included fresh dinner rolls. Ribs - smokey and tender. I would love to go back during the lunch rush when they come out fresh, but since we were there around 20:00, they had been sitting for a while. But even though they had been sitting, they were still amazing. They were glazed perfectly, and the tender, juicy meat was amazing. Some would say "fall of the bone" are the best, but that just means they are overcooked. These ribs had just the right amount of tenderness. So amazing. Brisket - also amazing. Had a perfect smoke ring, and was tender and juicy. The slices had the perfect pull, and were so deliscious. Pulled Pork - tender, juicy and succulent. Not mushy as sometimes can happen if it sits too long. This pork was simply amazing. Smokey, moist and perfect. I added some of the BBQ sauce, and it was simply deliscious. Chicken wings - cooked to perfection. Also asked for them to be dry so that we could try the different sauces. So tender and juicy. Mac n' Cheese - sometimes places will have a big pan and will just scoop it out onto the plate. Not here at Smonin' Bones. They make it fressh and put it into a dish, add some extra cheese on top and then broil it. So yummy. I could have eaten a lot more of it. Baked Beans - probably my least favorite of the night. The beans were a little under-done, so they had a little bit of a crunch. But the flavor was good. Keep working on that. Overall a wonderful, delightful surprise.

Menu has a good selection of Irish dishes from seafood chowder up to lamb stew and pies. We ordered the potato soup, seafood chowder, 'banjo' burger with onion rings. The soups arrived first and the seafood chowder was loaded with huge pieces of fish, potatoes (not many) with a creamy rich base. Flavor was incredible and in itself a full meal. Served in a large crock style bowl. The potato soup was minus any whole potatoes. It was a rich creamy base with plenty of flavor and very hearty. The burger was really a double cheeseburger with plenty of cheese, grilled onions, what appeared to be a mayonnaise based sauce on a soft hamburger roll. Really tall enough that it was tough getting your mouth around it. Very well seasoned burgers and the onions were a nice touch. The onion rings were huge and had a very light batter on them. They served in a metal bowl to keep them hot. For dessert the apple crumble was ordered which was served in a large dish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This could have been warmer but still was good.. The 5 star rating is for the chowder as it outshone the rest of the meal although the burger was definitely a close second. Definitely will return to try other dishes when we come back to the city.

The meat and veggies were plentiful, the portion generous, and it was tasty enough but maybe on the bland side? It was served with a side of braised red cabbage which we really liked: sweet but not sour like pickled cabbage. And house-made brown stout bread, also very good. The wife had a Guinness and I, thinking it too cliché to order Guinness as a tourist in Ireland, tried a different stout whose name I've forgotten from the ample selection. But comparing the two, so much better! The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Irish dishes, more than most of the similar pubs in the area. As well as the other expected pub type food: sandwiches, burgers, etc. As for desserts, if we were hungrier, the wife might have ordered the Irish Whiskey Bread & Butter Pudding. The hubby would probably get his dessert later, as the selection was limited and neither that nor the Apple Crumble appealed. Sitting at the bar we had a more personalized experience than were we at a table. The bartender offered to take a photo of me behind the bar which I of course accepted. We made the right choice in coming here.

No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.
