I'm so disappointed. I ordered a $270 stand arrangement ($300) after taxes. It was the Teleflora Eternal Grace spray. The image on the website had 8 white roses, 6 white lillies and numerous other flowers. My arrangement had 1 rose and 2 lillies. It was crooked, small and embarassing. Do yourself a favor and order from Munster Florist. I wish I had. I gave it a 2 star only because they did deliver the arrangement before the wake began. read more

My boss and colleague had a lovely mixed floral plant arrangement delivered to me as a farewell gift on my last day on the job. The arrangement presented will in a beautiful container, pretty bow, and cute little butterfly clip. I was so excited about the arrangement because it included green plants that I could have for years to come. (I liked flowers too, but flowers always die so fast). Well, 3 days after receiving my arrangement, the green plants were beginning to yellow and brown. I had watered the plant, and I also kept the plant near a window for sunlight. Still, it was evident some of the green arrangement was not doing well. After a full week, the floral portion of the arrangement was completely dead, which I expected. I removed the dead floral stems and became increasingly disheartened about the health of the green plants that already turned yellow and brown. Hence, I called Hohman Floral. I explained my situation. The manager asked me to send photos of my plant so they could review the situation and give me a call back. Indeed, I sent the photos and waited for a return call. (My photos have been uploaded here). After another 2 days lapsed without a return call from Hohman Floral, I had to call them. The lady who answered the phone indicated they received my photos and would get back to me, as they were busy at the moment preparing an order. Knowing Hohman Floral is a small business, I respected that and allowed additional time for Hohman to address my concerns.... HOHMAN NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. Hohman Floral demonstrated a poor ability to address customer concerns, lacked professionalism in returning phone calls, and did not make an attempt to ensure customer satisfaction. I am truly disappointed in this small, family owned business, and unfortunately wish I could give ZERO STARS. read more

I was extremely disappointed in my order. Extremely. The arrangement was nothing like the picture on your website. My family ordered a total of EIGHT sprays and the flowers for the casket for our aunts funeral. Half of the arrangements were made with dead and wilting flowers. The hydrangeas on an ALL WHITE arrangement were BROWN!!!! The dimensions were not even close to what was listed. People who are going through one of the hardest things to go through are entrusting you to help make it easier. Your shop did the total opposite. Along with our sadness and grief, you managed to add frustration, disappointment and embarrassment. I will never use this shop again and I will do everything in my power to spread the word all around, leave a review on EVERY platform possible to make sure people know what crooks you are. This is our go to florist. I buy loose flowers here for gifts and have for decades. Always friendly staff you can let them know thing like "wild flowers only, no roses, no carnations" and that's what you will get. We also get our spring annuals here for our flower boxes. and pots and they never disappoint with their variety of choices or the quality of the plants. I placed an order for flowers for my mom's birthday. I paid extra for the "premium" bouquet. The total came out to $139. They were delivered on time, however when my mom sent me a photo I was upset to see that the bouquet was no bigger or nicer looking than the grocery store bouquet which was also gifted to her by another family member. I called and spoke to someone, sent this photo, and the response was "that's the recipe we use. It can be picked up and refunded." No other options provided. What a nightmare. My father was sweet enough to order my mother, my grandmother, and I flower arrangements for Christmas. Mine turned out really nicely, but it's worth noting that he ordered mine for a later delivery, so it wasn't done on the same day. My mom's was okay. There were some browning petals but nothing too seriously wrong with it. And then there's my grandmother's. What a mess! It was half living flowers, half dead flowers. Not just losing a little color. Not just a little brown along the edges. Dead, completely and utterly and brownly dead. So naturally, she called. Whoever was on the phone was snippy and rude, and didn't believe us when we said they were dead, and went into some spiel about discoloring petals. My grandmother worked for a florist, for one. And for two, I think EVERYONE KNOWS what a DEAD flower is. Eventually, they offered to refund the money. My grandmother declined, because her son was sweet enough to send her flowers as a gift and that's what she wanted. Plus, it would credit HIS money back, since it was a gift. They eventually agreed to remake the arrangement. They actually asked us to take the flowers and water out so that they could have their container back, which I find hilarious. I mean I guess it makes sense, but really? Asking us to throw away our half dead bouquet so that you can have your Christmas container back? We gave it back, but laughed and snickered about it the whole time. The bouquet was re-delivered and it looked much better, but after that whole interaction with snotty, condescending people and having to argue to get a group of god damn flowers, we won't be choosing them in the future, especially when Lansing Floral is closer and has way better arrangements. read more

I was unable to attend a close relative's funeral, and being out of state I had no idea who to use to send flowers. Hohman was on the list of florists near the funeral home. Their website was the easiest to navigate, they had a great selection, and they offered same day delivery without a big service fee. They were able to do a last minute, same day delivery, by 1 PM when the service started, and the results were beautiful. Service was great-they sent emails confirming my order and delivery. Ordered funeral bouquet by phone and customer service was nice however the bouquet was much smaller than what was described on their website. Maybe others have better experiences than we did. Erin at Hohman Floral is amazing. I had used their site to send some flowers to my mom as a surprise, and had requested no lilies or carnations, due to her allergies. When the beautiful bouquet arrived to her office, it had both lilies and carnations. I gave Erin a ring to ensure their website forms were working correctly and flag the error and she immediately offered to send my mom a new arrangement, sans-lilies and carnations, with an apology. Ordered arrangements for 2 different funerals in the last few months. Both times the order was filled incorrectly. When I placed the latest order I specifically requested a Peace Lily and was told it would have a pretty bow for presentation. Instead Hohman Floral delivered a broadleaf philodendron in a dark brown basket with a small netted gray bow. I went to see the store manager the next day and she was quite rude, saying I requested a green plant, not a peace lily. She then stated she preferred philodendrons, insinuating I should be happy with the order. I asked her to check with the person who took my order--she said she would and call me to discuss. It's been 1 week and no word from her. I'm particularly disappointed because I've been a customer for over 15 years. Obviously there has been a change in management. My husband ordered me flowers for my birthday on Dec. 15th. It was okay, not really pretty certainly something I wouldn't have chosen, but I was grateful to him and my grandson for thinking of me. I thought he and the child must have designed it. It wasn't until today when I opened the charge card bill and saw what he spent that made me write this negative review. It cost $50 for this plastic ugly vase and some weed looking flowers. So I asked him about it, and he said they asked for his budget and then told him the designer would put something really nice together for him and have it sent. I wish we could post pictures here, because this flower arrangement I wouldn't have spent $25 on let alone $50. I feel like he got taken, putting the flower choice and design in their hands, like they stole his money and sent some crap they had laying around. My recent experience with Hohman Floral is indeed regrettable. The staff is inattentive and rude. I initially spoke with staff at their Hammond location and was shocked when the saleswoman informed me that they could not promise the bouquet could be delivered on a particular day because they had multiple funerals on which they were working and all other work was prioritized behind their funeral orders. I then spoke with the Hohman shop in Munster and although the floral designer was not friendly, the interaction was more professional than the Hammond experience. I ended up placing my $100+ order with a clear understanding of what was to be included and not included in the arrangement. What showed up at my wife's office was embarrassing- it looked as though the floral shop was cleaning out the cooler and put a veritable hodgepodge of yard waste in a vase for delivery- including the flowers I instructed to be omitted because of her allergies. I regret not reading the other reviews, before placing the order- as it is clear courteous customer service and loyalty are not Hohman Floral values. Beware and consider an alternate florist. read more
