Flavors are good and pretty close to traditional. Worth it if you don't mind waiting for the young girls taking their sweet time. They have a few young girls who work this business and they were socializing and chatting away causing orders to get backed up. Especially didn't like the fact they didn't tie their hair up or back as I saw it going into the shaved ice a few times. Luckily it wasn't my orders. When I asked what flavors included Tigers blood, both girls inside the food trailer didn't hVe a single clue. LEGIT - THE VERY BEST snow shack in Utah COUNTY!! I loathed shave ice until I tried Hokulia. Everyone told me to come here, and I was like noooo. Shave ice is gritty and crunchy. This is uniquely different....it's soft...smooth and melts in your mouth!! I have an addiction to this stuff now...I can't go more than a week without my shaved ice fix. . Pros: Super friendly staff, cute little shack. . Tips & Faves: Ask for a straw when it's a really hot day it melts fast. Then you can slurp it up. Mmmmm;) . Taste of Hawaii, anyone?! Still promoting my "first time moments" over here! Hokulia Shave Ice has this one spot on‼ This one is called the "808" (as in the Hawaii area code baby): watermelon, sweet melon, and coconut. Just one bite of this has got me reminiscing of tropical fruits that burst an instantaneous party with your taste buds. Of course I added some vanilla ice cream in the core of all this heavenly goodness to beat the heat. I also added sweetened condensed milk to top things off and it was the best combo ever! I will def be going back to this location and will do a repeat order of the "808" to keep reminiscing about the lovely island, while eyes closed! Cute little shaved ice shack with plenty of shaded outdoor tables. Lots of flavors to choose from. A small (shortboard) is 3.50$. The snow cone is light and fluffy so you don't have to crunch on chunks of ice. It is also located about a minute from the highland splash pad so the combo of those two places makes for the perfect summer afternoon. Hokulia opens at 3pm on weekdays, noon on Saturday, closed on Sunday. read more

I love this shaved ice shack which is why I put up with the crappy customer service. Showed up tonight at 9:45 and there was every indication that it was still going. The windows were open. The music was still playing. There were three gals inside. Stood at the window for three minutes while all three ladies actively ignored me, hoping I'd go away. Finally, one came over to tell me that they weren't making snow cones any more for the evening. That's fine. But if you are going to stop making them before you stay you are closing, put up a sign or give some indication. I noted that there was still 12 minutes before 10 pm and she sighed and gave in. Karma was when 10 people lined up behind me. I get it's hard to find employees. I get they want to go home. I would have been sad but understanding if there was a sign or some indication they were done for the night. But, it was pretty obvious they wanted to be done right at 10 and the customers were just getting in the way. Also, explain to me why it takes so long to make a snow cone??? read more

I've been going to Hokulia for years and this one is the closest to my house. It's still about a 10-15 minute drive and pass about 3 different shaved ice shacks but it's worth it! No one compares to Hokulia! I would recommend getting a kiddie or a small because they are so big and filling. I ALWAYS get strawberry colada and either coconut or pina colada. And if you're a coconut fan, get it with coconut ice cream! It's a game changer! The only bad thing is that it's only open in the summer. I mean, I'd still get shaved ice in the snow haha! But really, you should only get your shaved ice from Hokulia! It's definitely worth the hype and price. read more
