The line to order was wrapped around inside the shop and out the door. I would say the bagels are 100% worth the wait though. They offer a wide variety of fresh bagels, cream cheeses, and toppings. They even have a sandwich menu! I ordered the Beesting Bagel Sandwich which comes on your choice of bagel with egg, bacon, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and a hot honey drizzle. It was absolutely delicious! The bagels were super soft with a nice crust on the outside. The cream cheese was perfectly thick and creamy. The hot honey drizzle really tied everything together well! Because it was so busy, it did take a while to receive our food. The line to order, although long, did go by pretty quickly. There were some tables inside but it was too crowded to find a spot. Luckily we were able to find a table outside while we waited for our orders. Whenever an order was ready, the workers walked around both inside and outside shouting the name of the order which made it convenient for us to not have to fight the crowd to the counter. The only issue I felt there was was the cleanliness. When you are standing inside, you can quite literally see years of caked on dirt on some of the not frequently touched surfaces. The lamps probably had an inch of dust built up. Although this isn't the most important detail, it still makes me question the cleanliness of the whole establishment. Despite this, I won't be held back from revisiting if I am in the area again!

I wasn't sure which pie to get-they have so many to pick from. Checking out the options in the bakery case didn't help because they all looked so beautiful. I ended up selecting peach, and it was amazing. The peaches were perfectly caramelized but still maintained their texture. The bake of the pie brought out their ultimate peachiness. The crust was just the right thickness. Even though it was a cold slice, the crust remained flakey. The cafe had ample seating. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Pricing is on the high end, but I'm not sure how much that is because food is so expensive now-a-days. I was a bit surprised to see sandwich combos (with a side) all starting at around $20, and going up from there. It was after 2 in the afternoon, so the bakery had several 50% off boxes of baked goods to select. Four large cookies for I believe $12 or so (I could be wrong). She remembered the Lantern Cafe so we headed there after setting up her table. The Lantern Cafe is located in the Kolligian library by the Student Center. They offer many coffee options and my favorite, chai tea latte. Their prices are reasonable: my large chai latte was less than $4. The chai latte was well made; smooth with the right amount of chai. You need to ask for cream cheese (plain or strawberry) with your bagel. They split the bagel for you and hand it to you in a small paper sack with a cream cheese container. They have a 4 slice toaster for you to toast your bagel and wooden utensils. My pesto bagel was soft, fresh, and toasted well in the toaster. The Lantern Cafe accepts cash, credit, Cat Dollars and Flex Dollars.
