It can't get any better than La Mo restaurant and cafe! I would eat at the restaurant every day if I could so it's a god send that they opened a cafe. The coffee is locally sourced and the specialty menu is phenomenal. I always have a hard time choosing between the Turkish, Dulce de leche, and the Frida lattes. If you can get there before 11AM you HAVE TO TRY their breakfast bagel. My mouth is salivating as I write this. Thankfully they also sell their delicious breakfast burritos until 2. Very cute! Outdoor seating has a garden setting, nice shade and spacious. Come on a Farmer's Market day and expect for it to get busy by a certain time. The food was delicious! The Latin Benedict and Lemon Ricotta pancakes were our choices on the menu. Truly the wedding sauce made the Benedict dish and you don't even need syrup on your pancakes with the Burberry compote that it's comes with. Came here with my sissy and her bf. She recommended the London fog. It was great! I was stunned by this exquisite mural of the Virgin Guadalupe! Love La Mo! Anytime I am in downtown Turlock I love to stop for coffee at La Mo. I did try to visit the cafe last week but didn't realize that they are closed down for the rest of the year. I wish there was at least a sign that stated this. The service is always great when I visit and I love the coffee shop vibe. This was our first time visiting La Mo, and we initially ended up at the coffee shop next door by mistake. The employees there were very kind and welcoming, and they helpfully redirected us to the restaurant. When we arrived at La Mo, we were greeted and seated quickly. However, it seemed like our presence wasn't entirely welcome, possibly because we had unknowingly arrived about 20 minutes before closing. While we completely understand that arriving close to closing time can be inconvenient for staff, it would have been appreciated if the server had kindly let us know that the restaurant was about to close, rather than seating us and appearing frustrated throughout the interaction. We made an effort to be polite and appreciative throughout the visit, so it was a bit disappointing to feel that our courtesy wasn't reciprocated. The coffee here is great. The pastries are great. The prices are a little high, but I'm happy to pay for quality products and spend money locally. But the gals who work here are the epitome of the "gen Z stare". The gals making drinks don't greet customers. They look at you and continue on without acknowledgement. The gals working the register always look like a deer in headlights, or they are like robot aliens who have never interacted with humans before. It's so incredibly awkward. I pay and add a tip, and I can't even get a thank you? What happened to basic decency? I have been here several times over the last couple of years with this experience. The bad taste of their utter lack of service is starting to overpower the good taste of their offerings. Whenever I do my weekend grocery runs, I try to find a "treat yo'self" spot to essentially... treat myself. Found La Mo Cafe through Yelp and was pleasantly surprised! Located along Main Street, La Mo Cafe gives me chill hipster Mexican vibes. The coffee shop is cute and airy, and hectic with the bustle of waiters from La Mo (sister restaurant in its nearby nook) grabbing mugs of latte art-topped coffees. They serve signature and classic coffee plus baked goods! I came on a Saturday late morning and the place was already filled with people. I ordered: The Valencia (iced) - this drink intrigued me for its chocolate orange ingredients. SUPER delicious and you get the hint of muddled orange after every sip. Highly recommend Coconut lime scone - soft with lots of toasted coconut, yum. The line goes pretty quick, but I will say waiting for the drink feels uncomfortably long due to them having to serve the sister restaurant. I think I waited almost 30 minutes for my coffee. I love that they stock their grab & go fridge with local goods: gem juicery, savor charcuterie and their famous wedding sauce! They carry my absolute favorite horchata iced coffee (r'iced coffee). Beware, it has a grainy texture from the rice. I like it, reminds me of a traditional horchata. Brunch review: 4/5 This one is a toughy. I love the aesthetic, you would never guess you're in Turlock! Me and my daughter went there to have lunch, but I wound up having the cinnamon roll pancakes OMG they were so good. They were served with cinnamon butter. They were hot and with a hot cup of coffee. First of all will say that this is definitely the best coffee in town. With that being said it definitely has its flaws, when interacting with the staff it's very clear that they don't care much for the customers. You walk in and more than half the time most of the staff has their back turned to you, then most of the time the interactions here are always awkward almost making you feel uncomfortable and as if staff if bothered you are there, too much attitude, Staff has no obligation to say thank you or even a smile but it would be nice. Most importantly for the coffee drinkers who are looking for a good quality coffee experience, not sure if I would consider this place specialty coffee, be aware that this establishment serves solid good quality coffee on a 50/50 chance maybe 75/25 leaning on the worse side, the trick is to go when the correct barrista is working. It seems maybe 1 or 2 baristas here know what they are doing or actually care for quality. The other times there is no promise of consistency a lot of the staff doesn't know how to steam the milk properly and that really lowers the experience one day it's good next day the bar is real low. For a staff that has so much time to chat and lean I feel as though they should be learning and perfecting their craft. I will continue to support this business with the hopes of improvement! We've always loved La Mo but lately it has been unacceptable. The food has definitely went down hill. My daughter was served a burnt chocolate chip pancake. The pancakes were thick and rubbery. When we asked for a non-burnt one, they brought out a very small pancake. The fruit was rotten and not fresh at all. The service was awful. The staff is rude and not attentive. We had to keep asking for napkins as they would only bring one napkin at a time. Asked for a refill of water and the server filled my water barely half way and didn't even offer my husband water as his cup was empty . They provide a kids coloring menu but don't offer any crayons. Good thing I had some spare crayons in my backpack. Not sure what's going on with this restaurant but it's definitely not what it used to be and not worth it. Oh, how disappointing. This is my 3rd time here at LaMo Cafe in a coupleyears time. Coffee is so so in comparison to other coffee spots, convenient when hitting the farmers market. I waited in line for at least 20 mins, paid just under $8 for a large HOT latte. Mistake. I left and thought the cup didn't even feel warm. I saw her steam the milk but my coffee wasn't even hot.
