Small dole whip in a cup!
    Angela Y.

This's our favorite dessert spot in the suburbs! Cash only, and close during winter!!! They have vanilla, chocolate custard, and dole whip!! Plenty of toppings and dip to choose from!! Price is very reasonable, there are plenty of parking around, benches outside you can sit. Definitely go try it out if you are in the Oak Park area. There might be a line, but moves by quick!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is small, only fits 1 party at a time,[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the staffs are very friendly!! You will not disappoint!!

We were referred here at Cooper's Hawk when we asked where to get ice cream on Juneteenth. We drove over, parked, and waited almost an hour in line, which stretched down the block but moved. [[HIGHLIGHT]]People were friendly and anxious, not impatient at all, that's how I knew I was in the suburbs![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is very small, no seating inside, with 2-3 kids working.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We examined the menu (CASH ONLY) and decided we wanted custard ice cream with a dip top. I got vanilla (custard or yogurt? don't remember) cup with butterscotch diptop and coconuts on the side. It was SOO good esp on a hot evening! The kids working were holding a fundraiser for attending college, so please be generous! They were so nice and patient about explaining the process. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am not fond of the no seats, but it's less overhead, less cleaning, and there is a bench outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very tasty custard in Oak Park, reminiscent of Kohr Brothers on the Jersey Shore and Scooter's on the North Side. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The name couldn't be more true, this is almost quite literally a hole in the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One person at a time, very quick service, cash only. It's just chocolate and vanilla here, with a ton of different topping options, so it's a pretty quick decision, but there is a slight Soup Nazi vibe when you're between a few toppings knowing there's a dozen people waiting in line behind you. The custard is well made, light but with a great texture. Even sitting out front in 90 degree heat, melting was minimal, which was impressive. I'm not sure it's worth the drive if it's out of your way, but if you're near the area or it's your neighborhood spot, you really can't ask for too much more.

Absolutely perfect small-but-mighty ice cream shop in south Oak Park, located just over the Ike on Oak Park Avenue!! Be prepared for cash-only, bring an extra dollar or two tip for the server's "College Fund" jar, and know you may have to wait in line during busier times. I got a very generous strawberry cone for $5. No wait at 1:00 on a Thursday. I'm coming back tomorrow for a Dole Whip!

Still thinking about the summer when I was able to hit up Oak Park's most popular ice cream place , a true "Hole in the Wall"! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lines and lines of people and friendly student staff that serve up cold delights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] can't wait till it opens up again next year . #icecream #dessert #chicago #oakpark

Name is perfect for this hole in the wall custard shop! On my first visit, the line had about 20 people in line. The person in front of me said it was worth the wait, and she was right! Their menu has something for everyone. The custard was so creamy. They also are very generous with even the small sizes! I tried the chocolate dip, which was really good. I would recommend getting a cup because it melts so quickly from the warmer weather. I went for a second visit today to get some Dole Whip! I definitely see myself coming here regularly. Staff have been very friendly and helpful both times. *Note: CASH ONLY* There's a ATM a block down the street.

Warmer weather calls for ice cream and this is my go-to spot! It's a small shop in Oak Park with very friendly staff and a large number of ice cream treats. You can get cones, custard filled cookies, sundaes, shakes, slushies, floats and more. My favorite is the chocolate-vanilla swirl cone It comes in small, medium and large. I usually get the medium. It's so smooth and creamy. I've also had the turtle sundae and the oatmeal raisin custard filled cookie. Everything is so yummy and perfect if you want a treat. They are closed during the winter months and reopen in the spring. Excellent customer service, cash only, highly recommended!

No frills but tasty bites. The dole whip is tasty and the serving size are good. The service is quick in the quirky little space. It is importantly to know they are cash only.

Chocolate custard ($3.75) with cherry dip ($0.75) cone

The custard is creamy and delicious. Step up to the counter and order. There's often a line in the evenings. Cash only. Offerings includes, comes, shakes, blended toppings into the frozen custard, frozen bananas (the money's in the banana stand?), ice cream sandwiches, sundaes, etc. The ever popular dip cone comes in many combinations. Choose your custard: vanilla, chocolate, or swirl. Choose your dip: chocolate, cherry, butterscotch, peanut butter. But whatever combination you choose, eat it fast because it will melt all over your hands, clothes, and face. Pro tip: bring wipes.

    Menu as of June 2022

Cash only and often a very long line. It is worth the wait. My usual order is a swirl in a dish, sometimes with brownie pieces. Brownies are homemade, unlike other ice cream shops.

Amazing! First time here and we'll definitely be back. Line at 7pm took about 15-20 minutes to order. We tried a peanut butter dipped (which my daughter thought was the best thing ever), a marshmallow sundae, and a strawberry cheesecake freeze in. All were delicious! It's cash only so make sure to remember that when you go. Everything we got was around $15 total.

Awesome custard. Worth the trip. Get napkins for drips . . . you won't mind a little drippy mess once you taste this custard.

We came in for shakes and left completely blown away. I had the churro shake, my sons had the banana and Oreo -- all three were incredible. Not your average ice cream shop shakes. These things are next level. The shop also has a very cool old school ice cream shop vibe. But honestly, what made the experience was the two people working. A young lady and a young man who were both so attentive, patient, and genuinely helpful. They let us try a few flavors before we ordered, walked us through everything, and never made us feel rushed. That kind of customer service is rare anywhere, let alone at an ice cream shop. If you're in the area and haven't been here yet, you're missing out. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

This is a cute little downtown area, and unfortunately, it's barren on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Which worked well for us as we showed up and no one was there. Just us, which gave us plenty of time to sample the various flavors, and chat with the person working in this cute little ice cream shop. They can make all these cute shakes and sundaes with all kinds of toppings, but seeing as we aren't young kids, there's no way we could eat confections such as what I listed above. Instead, we got to try their various flavors. Thinking back, I believe I got a watermelon ice cream. I could be wrong. However, I do remember how juicy, fruity, and sweet the ice cream was. Not sweet like overly sweetened lemonade that puckers one's lips, but like the sweet sensation of a perfectly ripe watermelon, bursting with succulent. flavor. It was like that. And man was it good! If I lived in Riverside or close by, I would be there all the time. So thankfully, we were out for a drive and wanted some ice cream and found this cute little shop. They have a few small tables inside, but what makes this a town square right out of the 1950s are the cute little wireframe tables and chairs they had outside along the sidewalk so you can sit and enjoy your cone, and people watch. And we did just that. If I'm nearby again someday, I'll definitely pop in and grab a delicious cone. There flavor options were plentiful, whimsical, and flavorful. However, for the time being, I'll just post this review and hope others pop in to enjoy the cones and flavors they're providing.
