I was recently here for a kids birthday party. The party host was quite rude and made many comments about the kids behavior during the party and even interjected many times when parents were dealing with situations. The ages of the children ranged from 3-6 years old. She even made rude comments to the children & had them cleaning up the party room on their own, rather than her going around and cleaning up. She also was not very sanitary and wiped her face with gloves on before she cut the cake. She clearly was also never shown how to cut a cake before this disaster. She was cutting pieces, plopping it into her hand & then palming it onto a plate. She also told my child to stop crying or he wouldn't get a goodie bag. Prior to this party room experience, she kept walking around basically in circles in the lanes where kids and parents were mingling. She didn't give any privacy for the party and kept squeezing in between people talking. Who hired this girl without proper training? She had no common courtesy or respect. Haven't bowled in NJ in quite some time. Are all bowling alleys charging by time limits?!? Holiday Bowl seems to have lots of 'specials' going on most days of the week. Some look like pretty good deals if you're with a group. But... $50 for an hour of bowling on a Saturday afternoon?!?!? AND... when the time limit is up in the 7th frame, the alley just shuts off?!?!? Two of us bowled two games and then completed 1/2 of the seventh frame in game three. So, between us, we didn't bowl six games. If we *had* finished our last game, it would cost over $8 a game! That's outrageous! To cut off the alley mid-game (mid-7th frame) is insulting to the costumer. That said, Holiday Bowl was a hopping place with groups, families, beginners, and regulars. Food looked really good. Great selection of beers. Full bar. Waitress service. Will need to go during a promotion, though, to not feel ripped off. read more

We had a nice time here for a kid's 6th birthday. They had a lane for the parents to bowl, too. The kids' bowling had bumpers and a sort of slide thingy the kids rolled the ball down. VERY kid friendly. They had a full bar with lots of beer options and food you could order. The kids' bday itself also had a lot of food choices which was nice for picky kids. Hosted a bday party and Nicole was the best party pro! Very attentive to our needs and kept everything flowing and organized. This was the least stressful bday party that I ever planned and hosted. They provided all the party plates/napkins/cakes and service which allowed me to sit back and chill. A couple opportunities: They did spell the name wrong in the cake...my #1 pet peeve. I had also wanted to extend the party by a half hour and thought we were on the same page but they were closing early for Super Bowl and had another party right back to back to us so they couldn't honor adding the additional time that I thought I had reserved. We had to quickly and abruptly move away from the lane. Also here a tip: the lost and found gets donated after a month so my item was not there from a couple months ago. Don't sleep! read more

Un-professional bar staff are not trained properly. I have a real ID that is out of state. I went to get a beer. Bartender did the "crease test" to see if it was real and broke it. When we asked why she did that, she creased it again in front of us. She claims that she is tip certified. They do not have a black light or a scanner. I gave them another form of ID. The manager is from my home state. She checked it out and was all good. The bartender who is a young brunette with glasses. About 5'6". Damaged my ID before consulting with a manager. Did not apologize at all. I would not go here at all. Beware of the brunette with glasses who works behind the bar. Manager was somewhat helpful but left right away after the incident. Place is nicely updated, shoes are clean and service was great. My issue is with the price and how our game abruptly ended at the 90 min mark. Bowling + shoes for 3 ppl for 90 mins was $114! Then we got some food and 1 alcoholic drink for about $100, so for 90 mins, the cost at Holiday Bowl was over $200. The place was also not busy and we were in the middle of our 4th game when we hit the 90 min mark and our game abruptly ended. I think that was a bit ridiculous since there was no one waiting for the lane. Yes, we paid for 90 mins but would it be terrible to allow your customer to finish their last game for about 5-10 mins? C'mon.... for this reason I will not be returning. I'll go to TBowl instead where I can get 2 hours for $100. read more

$50 for an hour of bowling. After we rushed thru 2 games each I wished I just paid for 4 games individually. As an actual bowler I didn't care for the light gray slippery lanes. When I asked to move a few lanes over before we even started, because of the 3 small children all over the ball return & on my lane (they had the whole other half of the alley completely open for leagues that didn't start for over 2 hours) I was told it wasn't possible - even if I guaranteed that we'd be done in an hour- a full hour before leagues start @ 5 pm. Came here with my Co-workers on Saturday and we all had a great time. Compared to other bowling alleys, I consider this one to be on the smaller side and much older than most. I believe it's about 24 Lanes and it could definitely use a renovation. They are open until 1am and have plenty of parking. Bathrooms were clean. The bar had a nice beer selection with reasonable prices. They also have a place to order food but I believe that closes around 11pm. It's around $10 per person (including shoes). Slightly more money to play here than most places. read more

The bowling staff is amazing and the wait staff is also very good but one bartender is enough to make it so we don't go back. When I first got there I walked to the bar and I was told "you have a server you can order there". After bowling we went to the completely empty bar and as we were sitting there trying to order a drink this same bartender (dark curly hair) interrupted our order to tell us that "someone is sitting there" and after apologizing she said "yea I thought the cups made it obvious". The cups belonged to her friends who showed up about 25 minutes later with McDonald's that they all shared together, including the bartender. They also didn't sit in their assigned seat after that. Wow! The recent renovations have completely transformed this place. I went out for an afternoon with the family and had a blast! The new lanes accommodated 10 of us at a time, and even allowed for automatic bumpers for the younger members in our party. They had plenty of other games if you're not a big bowler, and even had lottery/quick draw for the adults. They have a new menu with great pickins and a full bar! I've been going to holiday bowl since I was really little with my grandfather and my parents. As I got older I started paying for my own bowling. They had this amazing deal on Tuesdays where it was 5$ per person and for the lane and 25 cents per game. I recently found out that I will not be allowed to bowl for quartermania on Tuesday nights because I need to be 21 as well as my siblings to bowl. Some of the staff are very unpleasant to talk to and completely lie to your face. What used to be a place where all ages were allowed to bowl at night, is no more because they need more money for alcohol and to pay their employees. And for that, I am super upset and will not be returning. read more

Great place for a family fun bowling night, but slightly overcrowded for a more mature or young adult group. The staff is friendly, and food was great. I highly recommend the fries and pretzel. My main concern was the cleanliness and how I likely caught a neuro/stomach virus from handling the dirty bowling balls that led me to vomiting all the next day. I went to Holiday Bowl for the first time with a bunch of friends last month for a friends birthday and we had a great time. First of all, the prices were great for each game played. Really good deals. The staff was fine. The alleys and the whole building were clean. They have a bar for adults to have a drink, food, and a lottery machine. You don't find two of those three things in a bowling alley often. I think this is my new favorite bowling alley. Much better then the ones closer to me. read more

Came to bowl with my family today, paid a hefty fee to play two games just before 4pm. After a little bit an ad on their tv screens pops up saying Pizza pins and pop Friday's 90 minutes for $66 plus pizza and a pitcher of soda 4-8pm! We literally arrived just before 4pm!! We went over to the cashier and asked why we weren't offered this or even told "hey it's just about 4, if you wait a few few minutes you can get the Friday deal and save $11!!", instead the cashier held his head down and said "nothing I can do, you already paid, the other guy is new sorry". For a place screaming for business, you'd think they'd at least do something more than just say "sorry nothing we can do". We've had birthday parties here, we've come here occasionally for family bowling fun, but I can guarantee I won't be coming back any time soon!! Fun place for kids on a rainy day - there are a few video games, a bar, a snack counter, and vending machines so there's something for everybody. The bumpers are available on each lane and are automatic. You can even have them on for some players and not for others on the team so it is great for families. I went here today. It is a spacious bowling alley. It has a bar and a small cafe. The prices are very reasonable. The lighting was really good , and the mood was set to the music. The bathrooms however were disgusting and repulsive. The toilets were smelly and the soap dispensers were empty. I wanted to wash my hands after bowling to eat. over all the place was nice, but clean the place up please!! read more
