I'd say EXCELLENT guest service, but I received BEYOND excellent service and I wasn't even an guest! My uber dropped me off at the wrong hotel. Corey is an amazing human being and absolutely refused to let me wheel my wheelchair across the street to the proper hotel! He is the epitome of a customer service professional! Little did he know, due to my health conditions, he saved my life in doing so. I am forever grateful and will be staying with them from now on when in town! Instead of being ridiculed and bullied by the general manager at my original hotel NOT Holiday Inn for being handicapped, I actually switched. Precious Peter was so gracious as to help me with my luggage and help get to my room. I didn't have to ask much less beg like at other places. The general manager made me feel like family! While looking at hotels on 190 in Covington, Holiday Inn came in as the better priced of the nicer hotels, so i chose here. The booking experience was easy, and they will automatically ask if you want to join their rewards program to get a better price. I was given the approximate cost of my stay and booked it up. You can check in online and give an approximate arrival time. I chose 6pm, but at 11am that day, i was notified my room was ready. I still didn't arrive until six, but that was nice to know had my arrival time changed. They need to replace the sign along the highway pointing you to the hotel as the one they have is faded, and the street sign is not too visible, but it's easy enough. There is a spacious parking lot with plenty of parking near the door. Check in was easy, i just showed my ID and was given my card. The front desk employee was really friendly and welcoming. My king room was large and roomy. It was your typical room - bed, tv, fridge, chair, desk, closet (no safe), Krueig set up, the basics. There is no in-room microwave, rather, there is one per floor by the elevators and vending area. I had to turn the fridge on, so be sure to check that if you anything that needs to be kept cold. The bathroom is super tight for space. I mean, uncomfortably so. I was travelling solo, so i only had my things, but to get to the shower, you had to walk all the way in to close the door to walk around the toilet to get in the shower. I think that was a poor design. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. There was no road noise because you're about a block or so from the highway. While not the hotel's real fault, I was somehow placed among three rooms of young ladies attending a wedding who came back around midnight and were extremely loud with opening and closing the loud doors and yelling in the hallway. Not easy on the ears knowing I had a 4am wake up call for my race, but I didn't call to complain, and probably would have gone into the hallway to let them know had it gone on more than 15 minutes. I had to check out around 5:30am, and the restaurant looked like it was open, so that's nice. There was a note that the front desk person would return soon, but they have a key box, so i just dropped mine in there and headed out. The website says the pool is closed for maintenance with no expected reopen time, but I didn't try to go see if that was still accurate. Also, the price ended up being about $3 more than what my estimated price was, but no big deal, just be aware if you are expensing it for a trip. There are several restaurants and stores nearby, and downtown Covington is just a short drive away. Go a little further South, and you can explore the beautiful Mandeville lakefront area. The Northshore area truly is beautiful. read more

This is a very nice place to stay. Up to date and very clean. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and they had soft pillows and firm pillows on each bed which was so nice. The rooms were spacious and had all the amenities such as coffee, fridge, blow dryer etc. I will say the bathroom was a bit small. read more

The rooms were very nice and clean. The location is great. The breakfast took too long to come out (40 min) so we had to leave and the hotel gave us a refund. The gym was small and they were missing a lot of the dumbbells from the set. The cable machine handle was broken with no more attachments to put on and was very worn out. Two out of the two treadmills were broken. So no treadmill to use. read more

The hotel was much nicer that I had anticipated. The room was nice, and the temperature was quite comfortable. Loved the walk in shower! The hotel smelled very nice, which is quite an accomplishment for any hotel in a high humidity area. The staff was extremely amiable. One thing that blew my mind was how incredible the grits were for breakfast! They are, hands down, THE BEST grits I have eaten! They were light and creamy! One bite and there was a small pop, and dust all over the place when my mind got blown! They were so good that my wife, who doesn't like grits, admitted they were delicious. Very nice hotel. We stayed here with our 1 & 3 year old while visiting family in the area. Overall, it's a very nice hotel but more suited for business guests and not so much for families with young children. The walls and floors are thin so I felt sorry for people hearing our baby cry late at night. Also we heard the people above us walking around. But the hotel looks brand new with some nice amenities and great breakfast buffet. Cold a/c and very comfortable beds. Housekeeping was just average and forgot to do a lot of things almost everyday but the front desk and restaurant staff were excellent. We'd stay here again. read more

"Sleep like a baby every night!" This hotel is my home away from home. I stay here at least 2 times a week. My office is 2 hours from my home, so I stay here some nights. The hotel is located in the middle of shops, resturants and buildings in Covington. You can walk to many resurants and Walmart and Rouses Supermarket, but I never really leave once I get back from work. The rooms are nice and up to date. The pictures of the room I have in the review was after I been in the room for 2 nights, so it has been lived in. I leave valubales out daily and I have never seen anything go missing. I also conducted the dollar test. I put a dollar in the trash can and see if it disappears and the maid had it on the desk when I got back from work. I always have a abundance of fresh towels and a clean bathroom when I arrive back from work. The beds are very comfortable and I sleep well. Sheets are soft and comfy. They are definitely a high thread count and the comforter is either a down comforter or good imitation. The wifi works throughout the hotel you have to re-sign in sometimes but that is expected with hotel wifi. The hotel has a buisness feel. The employees treat you amazing and patrons are always nice. The resturant is the best you can expect for hotel food. Drinks are not over prices. Happy hour last until 6:30. I would suggest the pub chips for a snack. They only have a breakfast buffet if they are at 60% occupancy. Breakfast is really good and the servers are very nice. The breakfast trio is a good buy and filling. I ussally get that eat one and bring it to my offce for my secretary. I also ussally get my breakfast to go and it is always ready for me. Pool is small but brand new and almost elegant. They do have a gas firepit outside and will light it if you ask. I think this is the best hotel to stay in if you are in Covington, La. read more

First time staying at this Holiday Inn. The room was stylish, and the bed was super comfortable. The room was also very clean. The staff was always helpful and visible. Overall the hotel is very nicely decorated, sort of a colorful, retro vibe, which was inviting. The pool outside was also very stylish and custom to the space with a rock-wall waterfall feature feeding into the pool itself (again, done in a stylish, posh-retro manner). There are nice restaurants within walking distance, although there is a full-service restaurant and bar on site. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was also nice, and the food was good. The only reason for the four star review was due to the bathroom being on the smaller side, but it was still a very nice, and very clean bathroom all the same. We would most definitely stay here again. read more

Hotel room is very nice with very comfortable beds but the bathroom is another story. The teeny tiny layout is not well thought out, tub very slippery, bathroom door not balanced so you had no choice to keep it closed the entire time. The thing that rattled me is that the breakfast buffet close at 930am. This location is 30 miles from New Orleans NO HOTEL CLOSES THEIR BREAKFAST BAR BEFORE 10am!!!!!! great place!!! stayed here with my fiancé loved it!! everything was/seemed very new and clean it's right next to our favorite restaurant copelands and it's super close to the interstate :) but they will need a credit card to do a $50 possible damage fee but that was fine since it goes back on your card of all is well. Hotel was clean, beds comfortable. Our travel companions had a toilet that kept backing up. Disappointment was breakfast. We paid in advance for breakfast. At the end of the meal we got a bill for 4 cups of coffee and a gratuity. A bill for a gratuity? Highly unexpected. read more
