I stayed at this hotel to visit Michigan, and this is one of my favorite hotels so far. The reason why I didn't give it five stars is the pool had a really strong chlorine smell, and they were doing swimming lessons with babies, but overall the breakfast is really nice and the rooms are really nice. read more

It's an okay hotel. Stay to play for hockey. Nothing spectacular nothing terrible. Seemed a bit outdated and in need of a remodel.

We stayed for a weekend and the kids had a blast in the indoor pool and indoor hot tub. Quiet hours were shockingly observed without issue and the hallways were quiet. Seems like hours are always there but then kids run up and down the hall anyways. Bed was comfortable. Hotel is dated. But my room was clean. Bedding was clean. Which in the end is what you need. Rooms had microwave and mini fridge. I booked a double queen but the tournament director not the hotel gave us different rooms. But that wasn't on them. read more

Won't return. Whether it was pest exterminator in room by the hot tub or multiple trips to the front desk because of the noise directly above our room of a person heel striking the floor pacing back and forth in the room for a steady 45 mins x two nights of the 4 we spent there ... While shouting and preaching to some religious spirit or whatever... I learned a valuable lesson here. I will spend the extra to not have my daughters awake to this noise while crying trying to process it all. Stay elsewhere. Staff is super friendly... However. My husband had to be in Canton for work, so he booked us into the Holiday Inn Canton. I was thoroughly impressed. They run breakfast everyday from 6am to 10am, and it had a lot more choices than other free breakfasts that I've had in the States. There was an abundance of breads - bagels, sliced bread, English muffins. Hot eggs and sausages, 3 kinds of yogurt, 3 kinds of cereal, and 3 kinds of juice. They also had cinnamon rolls that were quite good. Coffee was solid as well. The room was very clean and very big. WiFi was solid the entire trip, which was very much appreciated since I was working from the hotel. Bed was firm and pillows weren't the best, but serviceable. Staff were all very nice. Honestly, no complaints and I would not hesitate to stay here again when we're in Michigan. read more

Everything about this hotel was nice. my colleague and i checked in late after a long day of travel and meetings. The staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Rooms were very nice, good size, clean, quiet, the temperature was perfect, bed was comfortable, I was very impressed. The lobby was well-appointed to sit and relax or work. Neighbors walking from upstairs is noisy for downstairs guests, so you should probably request a top floor room if this bothers you. The fridge in my room made strange noises every several minutes, like muffled rap music and groaning/grunting. Sounded like a neighbor's alarm, but no, it was the fridge. The washroom has one sink but lots of counter space. The shower water has good pressure and stays hot. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and liquid body wash, but it's in dispensers attached to the wall so you can't take any home. Rooms come with a microwave, hair dryer, and coffee/tea maker. The beds were comfortable. Only one sheet and comforter per bed were provided, but there were four pillows on each bed. It'd be nice if they provided four blankets and two pillows per bed instead. I love the motel's layout for the indoor pool (3-4 ft deep). It's right next to the hot tub, and also right next to the fitness center. The fitness center has two treadmills, a bike (didn't work), an elliptical, a scale, a ball, mats, a TV, towels, water bubbler, and a multi-weight lifter (but all but two functions on it were not working). The continental breakfast seems to be better on the weekends: sausage, scrambled eggs, omelettes, hard boiled eggs, pancakes, plus all the other foods normally available on weekdays. On Monday, those things were not available. But there was still plenty to choose from: bagels, English muffins, blueberry muffins, yogurt, cereal (strawberry special k, plain cheerios, raisin bran), oatmeal, wheat toast, oranges, bananas, apples, milk, chocolate milk, apple juice, cranberry juice, orange juice, coffee (including decaf), biscuits and gravy. The butter was refrigerated and hard, but it will spread easily if you put it between two hot pieces of bread. There's a friendly squirrel outside the breakfast room that may visit you by the window. There's a TV in the breakfast room, but it only seems to have one station available: local liberal news. The elevators worked fine for me. There's a bit of a marijuana smell in the stairwell. All the rooms are supposed to be non-smoking. My room smelled fine (no smoke). The employees were decently friendly, but could've been better. Check the recent reviews. This hotel is awful. It is where customer service goes to die. Staff were rude, abrasive, inattentive and lazy. I went to the front desk on 2 occasions and staff refused to get off their personal cell phone, make eye contact or address my issue. Double charged me for the room that was prepaid and won't return my money. Staff refused to unlock the gym door at 6:40am despite a sign that says it opens at 5:30am. Loud rowdy guests and front desk refused to say something despite my calls. Poor cleaning. Look at the vent above the breakfast buffet. Filthy. I ended up staying here for 3 weeks in a row for work near by. The staff was friendly, breakfast is typical to what you'd expect. The cleanliness... not so much. While there the whole time, our bed sheets did not get changed. Room service seemed to include taking the trash out & new towels (sometimes). The location is nice next to the exit and close to the airport. The gym smells terrible & electrical fitness machines didn't work. The pool was in fact NOT heated & the water in the hot tub looked questionable. I probably wouldn't stay here again. read more

My car was broken into in the parking lot my first night there. Canton police identified it in the middle of the night and came to knock on my hotel room door, for which I was thankful. In talking to the hotel employee in the morning about why they don't have cameras covering the parking lot, I was told that they can't because it's city property. I find nothing in the Canton code of ordinances preventing them from doing so. I was told by Canton PD that this is a regularly targeted area for high value property (they stole my navigation system). Later in the stay I tried to use the gym. The thermostat was set for 60 degrees but registered it at 86 degrees. Basically sauna like. I spoke with the person at the desk that tried to fix but acknowledged they would need to call a maintenance person. I don't have an issue with the property itself but it's obviously lacking the security and benefits I would expect for a hotel at this price point. read more

Excellent customer service!! The room was basic. When we first arrived our room was stuffy and smelled smoky. Thank Goodness for Anthonia!! She was extremely helpful and professional. She moved us to a room that we were much happier with. There is a wonderful heated pool so don't forget your swimsuits. The pool/Hot tub was a life saver for our kids. My husband and I used their workout room. Pretty cool set-up. Overall our stay was pleasant and mainly due to the staff. read more

As motor inns go...this one is as good as it gets. Clean Rooms, Nice People, Good Price (Some comparable area establishments charge a whole lot more,) and Morning Breakfast. A Very Nice Combination Indeed! Keep in mind this Holiday Inn is in a semi secluded area, but its not far from just about everything. Also, they tend to get softball teams/groups during the Summer. For this class of hotel. this is as good as it gets. The whole place looks new and clean, and the staff is great. We just stayed for one night, but we really enjoyed the facilities. The pool and hot tub were nice and warm and they seemed well maintained. The room (a standard room with two queen beds) had all the extras that I expect (fridge, microwave, wifi, etc.), and it was nice and clean as well. The Express breakfast is also excellent considering it is free. It had everything from bacon and eggs to yogurt and cereal. Really, it had something for everybody, and my kids found lots of options they liked. All in all, we didn't have any complaints whatsoever. If I had a wishlist, I'd say it would be nice if they had HD TVs instead of standard def boxes, and it would be nice if they were more proactive bringing towels to the pool instead of having to request them at the front desk (which they were quick to provide), but I can't dock them stars for that. I really can't expect any more out of a hotel in this price range; it is a seriously good value for what you get. read more

Great Customer Service, clean rooms, nice heated pool, & a very good breakfast buffet. Been staying 2 months because its the closest hotel to a contract job. Staff makes the best of: a horrid 1980s roomkey system that loses its code every 4 days, the record I've had a room key work was 10 days, you just have to go to the front desk and get a new key. +5 for everything but WIFI and keycards -10 for WIFI and nonfunctioning keycards & writer Thankfully I can use my data since Holiday Inn WIFI is worse than Super 8 and the worst motel dumps I've every been to. WIFI is about the absolute worst in a modern hotel, when it works its dialup speed. It took 10 minutes to load this Yelp.com page to write a review, thats the best its been in 2 months. The WIFI drops out for several days and the staff doesn't have the authority to fix it, and Holiday Inn corporate is your typical out of touch with their hotels and customers; to add insult to injury HI changes the login code every Sunday + has a buggy login splash page that generally wont load unless you act as your own Network Admin, manually flush the DNS cache, and type "http://localhost" in your browser to force their shitty wifi to eventually open the login page, and may or may not login 5 minutes later. Great hotel if you have a dataplan. Holiday Inn is like the perfect 90s hotel with good service and real people, with a weekly wifi password change to get dialup speeds & dialup reliability. I'm surprised they aren't advertizing in bold letters "free connections to the Internet network on hi-tech Wireless radio, no per kb charge for patrons". Great place to stay if youre trying to get off the grid, WIFI frustrations will keep you committed if youre tempted to get online. Other than that and roomkeys losing their code, great staff and service. read more

The rooms are always clean. The prices are very reasonable. The food is good with your free breakfast. The pool is cool. I have never had any type of problem at all there. Sure there are a lot more better expensive hotels but for the price and this hotel you can't go wrong and I've never had a problem or a dirty room. Highly recommended. We used this hotel as the recommended place for out-of-town guests to stay for our wedding. Kathy, the manager, was easy to work with from the beginning and very responsive to our questions. There was a lot of confusion over who was part of our wedding group and who was not, that required multiple emails back and forth, but in the end all was well and our guests all got the discounted group-booking rate. The hotel greeted us with a congratulatory sign, and employees routinely congratulated us as we passed the desk. We held a cocktail for the wedding in the presidential suite, and the hotel supplied us with table, chairs, and signs leading the guests to the right place. On the day of our wedding they had another 'congrats' sign. It was all very sweet. Our guests reported that the staff were quite friendly and they were very happy with the hotel (they were also happy to have a reasonably priced place to stay, and value-for-dollar doesn't get much better than this place). My only regret is not holding our morning-after brunch at the hotel, considering how helpful they were and the problems we had taking guests to another restaurant. read more

When you walk in the door you are greeted by the friendly staff. Very clean and welcoming environment. Rooms are very clean! The beds and pillows made my stay much more relaxing. Very quite! There is no background noise of traffic or airplanes. The continental breakfast is a great way to start the day! There was a microwave and mini fridge in my room which was great for leftovers or beverages. The only complaint I have is when you walk into the stairway you are overpowered by the aroma of a very strong grandma perfume or flowers of some sort. Other than that I had a great stay! read more

I was in the area for work and this was one of the closest hotel options. Overall this is an excellent place to stay. It has a broader breakfast offering than most HI Expresses. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even hosted a customer appreciation lite meal one evening which was wonderful since there are not many food options nearby. I stayed three nights and had no complaints. Cookies and snacks available every evening. Clean rooms, restocked whatever I used. My room faced the hotel front and rhe highway, but the room stayed relatively quiet. I will definitely stay here again when back in the area. read more

This hotel looks nice seems nice to the naked eye they are good about hiding the problems. But I happen to know for a fact n inside information from staff and my own eyes that they do have a bed bug problem. They do not treat it properly they spray their own bug spray n hope for the best only after infestation in room 306 for over a month Did they finally call orkin. But not the only room that has had them. Room 315 had a bad leak for months that went ignored until I personally pointed out the mold growing on the floor in closet along the floor n wall line. They fixed the leak but replaces the same piece of wall with black mold on it n never cleaned the mold of the carpet. So there is a mold infestation as well that they left un cleaned and still the same way. The staff is nice to their guest yes they do provide great customer service. But mistreat their employees something horrible including firing them for health problems and thinking it's OK to lay hands on them too. Very very unprofessionally ran establishment and cheap skate owner. Manager Debbie needs people training and learn she can not put her hands on her employees ever they are lucky their wasn't a charge brought against them but I will inform people of the things they do not see.... I booked my stay with this hotel for a baseball tournament. When I checked out I was told I was going to be charged for the rest of my stay. I NEVER AGREED TO THIS, the hotel never made me aware of this deal until I checked out. The hotel made an arrangement with the baseball league that I was not privy to, not with me. I challenged them to show me where I agreed to those terms, but they could not. This was underhanded, sneaky, and just bad business. Give your money to another hotel who does not knowingly screw their guests. The Super 8 next door is just as nice and costs far less. read more

This hotel has very poor management. We paid cash for are room when we were there, of course you have to book with a card. They then turned around and charged this also, when calling there was never an apology. Then a he wouldn't even take are calls, would only have communication threw email. After I told her in email to have her workers focus on work when they r there and if they can't handle large groups don't take them as we were a large group. She said I was disrespectful.
