The management and staff were so attentive! The experience of milking goats with the lessons was so very good. The history and the texts before meals/ horsdouvers were set was appreciated! My only complaint is the daily wine. It tore my wife and my wife's tummy up so thoroughly. Saturday dinner wine was good! There are extra special gifts that we didn't expect. I don't think I'll visit again as there are many other places to visit within 300 miles. It was a nice celebration of my wife and my 60th birthdays. No regrets!!!! read more

Husband and I were looking for a nice, weekend getaway, and Elm Creek Manor looked like the perfect place. Boy, we're we right! The property is beautiful and serene, they've absolutely nailed the old world style, and the FOOD--oh my God, I've never had anything like it. We stayed in the Austrian Haus, and splurged on the Ultimate VIP Package, and it was worth every penny. The Room: The Austrian Haus is very roomy and comfortable, with a beautiful old world rustic feel to it. I loved everything about it, ESPECIALLY the spa shower and sauna room. Large, open shower area, and an infrared sauna that my husband and I enjoyed so much, it's got us looking for saunas in our area. We came to Muenster just to stay here, and between that and the late July heat making the outdoors a bit more than we could stand, we ended up lounging around in here for most of our stay. Comfy seating, strong wifi, and satellite TV, so we didn't feel cooped up, at all. Loved it, and I'm seriously torn between a desire to check out some of the other accommodations next time, and just continuing to book this one, because we enjoyed it so much. The Property: Absolutely gorgeous farm, nestled in the woods. The Austrian Haus is right next to the garden, so we had an excellent view of a variety of fruit trees, and rows of vegetables. There are also chickens, goats, and some miniature donkeys nearby. We didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as much as we would've liked due to our brilliant decision to come in the hottest part of the summer, but what we did see was beautiful. I look forward to coming back in a cooler part of the year! The Food: They're serious about the farm to table concept, and it shows! Between that and Marcia's incredible culinary skills, these were honestly some of the best meals my husband and I have ever eaten. You can taste the respect for the ingredients in every bite. Everything on the plate shines, and the vegetables are NOT just sides--we found ourselves enjoying them every bit as much as the meat. Even the salads are so good, they had us scraping the bowl! The homemade cheeses are phenomenal, and have effectively ruined even the Whole Foods cheese counter for me. And the desserts! I didn't end up taking any photos during our 3 course dinner in the manner, but I should have. That apple blueberry crumble pie was INCREDIBLE, as well as beautifully plated. I could go on for paragraphs about the food, alone. If Marcia ever publishes a cookbook, I'll preorder. The Add-Ons: There's a number of different packages to choose from, and we went with the "Ultimate VIP Package", to try a bit of everything. Pricey, but SO worth it! To run through some of the items included in it: 1) The snack basket was fantastic. Things like this usually seem to have a few good items on top, but are mostly so-so filler, after that. Not here! We enjoyed everything in it, including some old favorites we hadn't seen in years. 2) The European chocolates are SO GOOD. I now understand why Europeans think our chocolate is garbage. 3) The farm gift we got was a jar of their delicious pickles! I haven't had homemade pickles like this since I was a kid, and don't tell my grandparents, but these are better. 4) We both got a 70 minute massage each, and I don't think we've felt more relaxed, in our lives. We've now decided these are essential, and are looking into local places. 5) The treasure hunt was wonderful. The clues aren't meant to be difficult, and lead you on a nice tour around the property. Each comes with a question or series of questions that had my husband and I sharing our feelings (big deal for him, given how emotionally constipated he normally is!), reminiscing, and laughing. And at the end, more delicious cookies! 6) That charcuterie board was TOP NOTCH. The homemade cheeses and summer sausage were to die for. 7) The private dinner in the library at the manor was lovely. Very romantic setting, and amazing meal. The People: All were friendly and helpful. The owners are fantastic people. We got to chat with Brad a few times, as he goes out to deliver breakfast trays, himself. We only met Marcia at the Saturday night dinner, and enjoyed hearing about the methods they use to preserve food from summer, to use during the winter (they do as much as they can the way folks did 150-200 years ago, so lost of drying and canning!). The way we scheduled everything, we only got to attend one social hour, but I hope to spend more time chatting with them on future visits. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, my husband and I had a wonderful time and left feeling refreshed and energized, and we've decided we're going to have to make this trip once every year or two, and in different seasons (to try out the different seasonal menus). Such an incredible place! We can't say enough great things about Elm Creek Manor. The house, food, staff and animals were beyond perfection. The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD and you will be counting down the minutes until your next meal. Brad is so passionate and really goes the extra mile to ensure you have the best stay possible. We did the scavenger hunt and it was such a fun experience to do as a couple. Make sure you get the in room massage from Judy as well. We stayed in the Tuscan cottage and the private hot tub was perfect for after a massage or a great meal. I never thought goats would bring me so much joy but we got to watch how Brad milks them and learned so much about agriculture and maintaining a farm. The love and hard work poured into this bed & breakfast really shows and it felt like a privilege to stay there. Truly a magical weekend we will never forget. This place exceeded my expectations for a bed and breakfast. The grounds are immaculate, and the food (from "farm to table") is the most purely organic preparation I've ever had, and certainly a culinary experience that was delightful---comparable to 5 Star restaurants. If you like sustainability, and true organic farming, you will not only be fulfilled, but impressed. They have an exceptional spa (aka fabulous massage therapists) and my friend treated me to a great experience. This was so worth the trip. :) And relaxing, too! read more

Elm Creek Manor is a European retreat in the heart of Texas. Not only is it immaculate, the atmosphere created by owners and staff creates an opportunity for true relaxation in peaceful nature. First of all, the food is exquisite. Anyone will be able to tell the difference between what most of us are used to--typical restaurant and store-bought fare--and truly exceptional farm-raised food. I didn't even have the dinner but the breakfast proved that food at Elm Creek is without comparison. Number two: the accommodations are uniquely rich and luxurious. The Boll and Branch sheets and duvet are the softest I have ever seen. The decor is quirky and thoughtful. The Manor house is absolutely beautiful. Antique and truly quality items have been selected to decorate the manor. Cool fruit and snacks/drinks are provided during your stay. For a truly private experience, choose the Alsace cottage with no neighbors and a very private deck with a hot tub and nature view. Relax near the non-chlorinated pool (heaven!) with trees and flowers all around. All you will hear are birds and crickets all through the day and night. My favorite part was spending time with the goats, donkeys and chickens. There was a peaceful and positive feeling at the property and I will be coming back again and again as much as I can now that I've discovered this rejuvenating retreat. read more

My husband and I had the privilege of staying here last week. It was wonderful! Brad and Marcia are superb at hospitality. The Alsace Cottage was the perfect room for privacy and relaxation. The social hour is a great warm up for the magnificent charcuterie tray that was delivered to our room on Thursday, and the excellent dinner on Friday. And of course the breakfasts were out of this world delicious! We loved everything and will visit again. Worth every penny! read more

I love love love this place! Far enough away to be quiet and relaxing yet very easy to get here and back. Beautiful property. Fantastic food!!! Wine and cheese in the library every day. Fruit and drinks delivered to the pool !! The massage therapist (Robert ) was divine. He loosened up some seriously stiff muscles that haven't behaved appropriately as of late! Farm to table food that is so worth the trip! Cottages and rooms available in the main house are each distinctly decorated with attention to details and style. Gardens and lovely alcoves dot the property for a large or small experience as suits your mood. Rooms have all the necessities including a welcome tray of goodies and mini fridge for your extras. Watch movies. Wifi. Or just chill and wait for the food to be delivered to your door! The breakfasts are a feast and the pastries simply melt in your mouth. Coffee,Tea, lemonade, rum punch??? What an amazing and memorable experience we had at Elm Creek Manor! Mr. Brad and Mrs. Marcia have mastered the art of bed and breakfast; we were so thankful to have found this gem of a place! Every base was covered, plus some! The animals were so cute, sweet, loved, and obviously part of the family! The food over exceeded my expectations as well! The connection I felt to the land was magical. I felt the presence of my late grandfather which served as a reminder of how God intended us to live. OMG..what a place!! My fiancè and I absolutely loved it! All the way from the greeting to the good bye we received the best attention ever, the owners and staff were awesome! The food was delicious, the premises were beautiful, the spa services amazing, and let me not start on the bed, most comfortable sleep ever! Elm Creek Manor - Best dessert I've had in my entire life!!! - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Muenster, Texas

MUST HAVE BEEN A BAD WEEKEND TO VISIT: I scheduled an overnight stay at Elm Creek Manor in Muenster, Tx with a wonderful comedy show at Winstar. I was excited to surprise my husband with reservations at such a seemingly extraordinary place with animals and organic food. When we arrived, the parking space where we were instructed to park was already occupied by another car. We were greeted by a property worker who offered "to move Brad's truck" so we could park in the Provence suite's designated parking spot. We were then checked in by our same greeter and presented with an itinerary which we were instructed to look at. The itinerary listed 3:00 check-in, 5:00 social hour, 6:00 dinner-rotisserie chicken. When we asked about the listed dinner (?) we were assured we "had the choice of eating in the dining room if desired" instead of "having trays delivered". Since we never had visited this manor before, we trusted what the itinerary stated our $332.01 overnight charge included. To answer our greeter's question, we told him we would enjoy eating in the dining room, especially since we love to visit with others at B&B's. We were sooo excited to plan to meet new people and "break bread with friends". Strangely, my husband and I were the only one's to show up for "social hour" in the library listed at 5:00 on our itinerary. I found it nice that the owner, Mr. Brad Scarbrough did visit with us briefly and started the fireplace. Conversely, it was odd to us that the other owner, Mrs. Scarbrough in the adjoining kitchen did not even "peek-in" to acknowledge or greet us, nor during our entire stay. At 6:00 prompt, we came to the dining room like we had been instructed by our greeter less than only 2 hours prior; the Scarbrough family was beginning their meal. At that point, we were told there was "only one couple getting dinner trays in their room" and it wasn't us. Unsure of what had just happened, we quickly realized we were not welcome there and, in fact, had interrupted their private meal. Awkwardly we excused ourselves while all present, (the manor owners, grandson, workers including he who was our greeter) were staring at us from the dinner table and from the 2 doors of the kitchen. To be sure, our greeter standing in the kitchen doorway, staring, did not even speak up for us! Very humiliating experience!! Later on closer inspection, I realized the itinerary that had been given to us was actually for the other couple (with their names printed near the top) and they had received ours. (So much for protected privacy.) Further, I noticed the Saturday itinerary date was incorrect too. The dates were typed Friday, December 27, 2013 and Saturday, November 23, 2013 instead of Saturday December 28, 2013. Our Provence suite was spacious, picturesque, with beautiful linens. However, we couldn't take a hot bath in the large tub there because the tub filler was merely a sink faucet as my husband (a master plumber) discovered. The sink faucet was too slow in filling such a large tub to keep the water hot, and so we skipped it. Also, the Guylian chocolates in the room were expired 3 months ago in September 2013. (Being a nurse I notice expiration dates.) Next, I wanted to make us some hot chocolate but found there was only one packet available. Therefore, we forewent the cozy treat because I didn't want to make a trek to the house to seek out another packet that should have already been there. Nor did I want to risk disturbing the owners after such an embarrassing dinner debacle. The memory foam mattress in our room felt very stiff. I could not sleep well. Seeing all the free range animals is awesome. The cheese the manor boasts is excellent. Mrs. Scarbrough outdoes herself in this. Brad works very hard with the animals and knows them well; seemingly doesn't sleep much with all the work to do on a farm. When Brad delivered the breakfast trays to our suite on Saturday morning, I apologized right away for the previous night's awkward confusion. He admitted knowing we had been given the wrong itinerary. When I showed him the multi-flawed itinerary, he slipped it into his pocket, said he was sorry we had felt awkward, gave me a hug and removed our used coffee cups and glasses to the house. Directly after breakfast, my husband and I departed for home as there was no reason to stay. Later we received a voice message at our home regarding $100 off a future manor visit. This is a kind gesture. However, at $332.01 per night and feeling as badly as we did to be there, I can only imagine we will leave that opportunity to someone else willing to try something new- at least once. read more

Extremely delicious!! Most of it is grown by the Inn Keepers and they take immense pride in keeping it clean and healthy. This place is AWESOME!! The property is beautiful not to mention very peaceful. The stone massage and aromatherapy facial were INCREDIBLE. The food (farm to table) is really the most organic preparation I've ever seen, not to mention delicious. Wine and cheese every night is the library is a real treat. Breakfast brought to our room every morning was so nice. Overall, this was a great experience for us and we will definitely be returning. We appreciate the customer service we received while staying at Elm Creek Manor. We felt that the staff genuinely cared. I booked this in hopes of a romantic 5th anniversary and restful getaway. However, we were very disappointed to find out that the Provence Suite had a room above it and the noise was unacceptable. I left feeling that it did not live up to the price. For the amount of money spent, there's no reason we should have experienced sleepless nights due to poor flooring and installation. The treasure hunt was fun. It would have been nice to receive a romantic lunch in that picnic basket instead of treats we could get from the guest house. The serving ware (platters, plastic ware, etc) need replacing. The dinner was simple and not worth the price. Although I appreciate the staff and grounds, the stay was not what I had hoped. After giving my feedback they are sending me a certificate for a free night stay. read more
