Hospitality at it's finest here! The staff was very welcoming upon check-in, during our stay, and check-out. They wanted to make sure we were enjoying our stay, the food at breakfast, and that we could find what we needed. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfy. Hotel I stood at a Holiday Inn Express last night... and well, you know the tagline. In any case, i did not find the cure for cancer, but I did get a good night sleep. This hotel is on the outskirts of Jasper and is one of the newer options in the area. Check in was super easy and the front desk help was pleasant and helpful. The room was standard fare as far as appointments, was clean and the bed was comfortable. Internet was good quality and the hot water was hot. About the only downside was that the bathroom lights were like sitting on the sun... there was no option to just turn the light on in the shower area so you got full power. This is a nice hotel in a good location within a five minute drive of downtown. The rooms appear to be either new or recently remodeled. They are well laid out and have nice showers with good water pressure. The only problem is that the shower heads are too good for the tubs. The shower head is one of those high pressure rain style devices and the water shoots out of the tub and onto the floor unless you angle it straight down, which is not ideal for a shower. Other than that, I liked the room. There are tons of lights and a comfortable desk with a decent desk chair. The beds were also comfortable. Unfortunately, the room was freezing cold. I turned off the AC entirely and that still did not resolve the issue even though it was 75 degrees outside. I had to cannibalize the comforter off the other bed and that was sufficient. Breakfast here was surprisingly good. The fresh fruit was a little beat up, but there were scrambled eggs, turkey sausages more than adequate to make it through the day. I would return to this hotel next time I visit southern Indiana. read more

Came to Holiday Inn Express due to a work trip to Jasper Indiana. The only other hotel in the area was Hampton Inn and was sold out which is why i was left with no other choice but to chose Holiday Inn Express. Once i entered the lot there was no parking whatsoever due to construction currently happening. When i walked in half the lobby was closed off and the floors tiles were torn off. Sheets and pillows weren't the most comfortable but it was OK for the night. When trying to get a receipt the next morning there computers weren't working due to "construction" so i had to write down my email on a piece of paper in order to get it emailed. I would look for other options in advance if you have to come around the area - not that there are many. read more

Stayed for business and i would not recommend this hotel due to the poor service. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable but the first night after flying from Ca i was awaken to my bed vibrating. I was wondering if a personal device was left behind or if the room was haunted. This happened three times. Turns out my room was next to the laundry's room and the tumbler cycle was the cause. No other room was available, needless to say, i was so tired. Next item was that the toilet was clogged, called down to the front desk which by the way took a ling time and nobody seems to be at the front desk the times i passed by. Anyways, finally talked to a lady who told me maintenance had left and she was too busy with customers to take a plunger to my room. When she finally got around, i was already asleep. Breakfast was good, they varied on their eggs which is nice but i almost slipped and instead of mopping, they simply placed a sign which did not cover the entire area. No body soap refill for three days and very minimal cleaning. They came to clean the room but didn't sweep visible shredded coconut on the floor. Lastly the steam from the showers set up the fire alarms and they cant do anything about it. Very frustrating. read more

For the price, the comfort, and the quiet stay you really couldn't ask for more. I'm docking a star as there was confusion with the payment of the room and they ended up temporarily charging me roughly $600 for a two-night stay. That error was corrected quickly so no worries. This location was very clean and quiet, you can really tell they put effort into the renovation at this location. Our room was on the top floor and although we had someone next to us in the other room you couldn't hear them through the walls. The complimentary breakfast each morning is what you would come to expect from a mid-level hotel so no complaints. We will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Holiday World. read more

This is the second time that I have stayed at this location, the first one being about 2 years ago - just after it had opened. I am surprised at the decline that has occurred in the short time this hotel has been open. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming. The breakfast area is clean, coffee fresh and their business center is a private area. The gym is also outfitted with a little more than your standard treadmill and bike. I can't go into details because, let's face it, I don't work out. I encountered a bit of a funky smell when passing the gym and pool area while heading into my room. It wasn't too surprising since there's the whole sweat/chlorine/moisture thing happening. However, when I got into my room it smelled very musty. It reminded me of being in the basement of an old house. I travel with room deodorizer and it didn't do anything other than make my hotel room smell like moldy apples. There were also dark spots along the crevice of the ceiling in the bathroom. It was bad enough that, under normal circumstances, I would have said something. However, I was in town briefly for a funeral. Many other hotels were booked due to a local festival. I literally only slept in the room and used it to dress for the next day. The bed was comfy. The sheets were crisp and clean. It is one of the top two hotels in the town of Jasper, so I wouldn't recommend that you avoid it. I'd just check out the room first, especially if you are staying for a number of days. read more

Eh, its a hotel‍ the rooms were clean enough but there was a couple disappointing things. Our bathroom mirror was the kind with an LED light surrounding the perimeter but only the bottom corner actually worked, i couldn't hardly see my face enough to put on my makeup . The pool and fitness were nothing but disappointing. We usually only use Holliday inn hotels but i have never seen such a small weight room in my life. I wasn't able to use it this time but if i could it would be weird having to share it with anyone else. The pool was really only big enough for a family or two and don't even think about actually doing laps. The whole hotel just felt unfit for the area. It was very modern and sterile unlike the casual farm scenery of the area. Not impressed in the slightest but it does its job. Oh and the air conditioner was really annoying. read more

Overall it was a good experience. The breakfast was great and the room was clean. Beds were extremely comfortable. I like the shampoo/conditioner dispenser. There was a miscommunication about room cleaning, but the front desk got us towels which was perfectly fine. A note to the owner: you have a dedicated and kind staff. They work hard to meet the expectations of the guests, but you need to help them out and adequately staff the facility. One of the front desk employees was there at 9:00 pm at night and still serving breakfast at 10:00 the next morning. She was still polite and assertive, but seems crazy to work her that much. After staying numerous times in the past at the old Holidome in Jasper I was pleasantly surprised that a new HIEx had opened there. I've been a faithful Holiday Inn customer and Platinum priority club member for the last 15 or so years, and I like the simplicity and consistency of the Holiday Inn Express brand. Unfortunately, my recent stay with my wife and children on a Saturday night at this hotel could not have been much worse. There was a wedding party there and they were rude, loud, and out of control. My family had an early morning departure planned the next day so we tried to get to sleep by 11, but it was impossible. It reminded me of trying to sleep in a fraternity house. The walls seem to be paper thin, as you could hear every conversation in the adjacent rooms. But the guests were also coming and going from each others' rooms non-stop, slamming doors closed up and down the hall, yelling to each other from down the hall, yelling in the stairwells, etc. I was on the first floor and was pissed off that the hotel had put me (I thought) on the floor with the majority of wedding guests. But actually, at 12:30 when I heard one person yell to another in the hallway that "the party is up in room 326!" I realized that everyone in the hotel who wasn't a drunk, redneck wedding guest was just as unlucky as me. At 1:30 I finally called the desk to complain and it was clear from the short, curt reaction I received that i was not the first to complain. Since it's a small town with no good hotel options this is definitely the nicest hotel in town, so this probably happens frequently there. I'm guessing they get their fair share of weddings, high school parties, family reunions, etc. I would definitely stay away from this hotel if you have children who need to get a good night's sleep, or if you are traveling on business and need a quiet, friendly option. On the other hand, it's apparently a great place to take your cousins and uncles if you want to be able to use it as an all-night post-reception party space. I was using priority club points to stay for free, otherwise I would have been at the check-out desk at 7 a.m. demanding my money back and making the morning manager's life miserable. read more

Unreal. I'm a gold elite member. Checked in on a business trip on Sunday. No maid service Monday. No maid service Tuesday (despite me complaining about it on Monday night). It's like they were enjoying my over-flowing trash cans, dirty towels, etc. Lo and behold, the 'pixies' showed up on Wednesday. But not on Thursday. That's 1 out of 4. Pathetic. It's just wrong. They had no explanation. Typical crappy breakfast options. Watered down OJ. Two morning there wasn't even a bacon/sausage option. Just more fake eggs. we stayed overnight as we were doing 2 days at holiday world. the hotel is pretty clean overall & the room we stayed in was nice. however, our tv didn't work (kept saying no signal), the bathroom door wouldn't lock or stay shut, the coffee machine wouldn't work, & the bathtub wouldn't hold water. the lady who was doing the continental breakfast was the rudest person possible my daughter was too scared to ask for anything more than a muffin. we were only here one night. it did the job i guess. read more

Standards here are not as high as some other chain hotels. :-(. In our room, the pillowcases were dirty (but staff quickly changed them once I called), room had a stale urine odor, marble vanity was sagging in the bathroom and beds are super hard. The reviewer who posted that the room was a bit musty was right about the smell, but she was also right about the rooms being clean, the lobby being bright and inviting, etc. Basically the hotel is a very good place to stay for Holiday World and has all the perks a family needs to keep kids busy, nice pool, small game room, and good breakfast. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. It is unfortunate when a rowdy bunch of guests makes it hard on everyone else, but there is not a lot that management can do if the partygoers won't quite down and are not tearing up the place. There is simply no way to predict what wedding party is going to be reasonably peaceful and which are going to run up and down the hallways. read more

Got to the hotel and they don't have NBC. Guess what - can't watch the Olympics at this hotel. The elevator doesn't work so don't get above the 1st floor. We stayed for 3 nights/4 days Thurs-Sun. We found the lobby to be clean, hallways, room to be nice and clean. The pool area is small - the hot tub was filthy so we didn't use it. We swam in the pool - it was just "okay" - could've really used cleaning too. The free breakfast was good, dining area clean. Overall a nice place for the most part. However - for our entire stay we had a family from HELL in the room next door. For hours on end they slammed doors, their kids ran up and down the halls, screaming, laughing, carrying on, sounded like a major WWF wrestling match inside the room - slamming in walls, jumping, stomping, yelling. It was a nightmare. Sometimes this went on until 11:30pm or later. We called repeatedly to the front desk and went down to talk to the clerks over the 3 nights we stayed - and they repeatedly said they'd talk to the family - but it continued the entire time. We had a very hard time getting our son to sleep because of the noise, and had headaches from all the door slamming. The hotel really should have either moved us/them - or asked the family to leave. We are Holiday INN Platinum members and should've been given more preferential treatment than this horrible other family honestly. Usually we are given top notch service at other Holiday Inn Locations - but not this one. I dont think there was a manager there - was always very young clerks - and I wonder if they really tried to do anything at all about this situation. Very disappointed - will probably never go back to this location. Also - WIFI was horribly slow even though the hotel did not appear fully booked. They really need to update the wifi to a higher faster speed. read more
