The even offered for a wake up call for the complementary breakfast which starts at 5:30am. The breakfast area is quite large with many options to choose from. The room we stayed in was a king size and it comes with a larger style fridge, microwave, coffee pot, desk, and lounge. The room was big enough to throw up a pack and play for our daughter to sleep in, and they even fetched us another pillow for her with quickly. You also have a desk area, closet and drawers which are nice and deep. Plenty of USB charging ports around the room so no need for a charging block if you forgot one. My only complaint is the bathtubs. Be EXTREMELY CAREFUL! There is not grip on the bottom of the tubs making them very slippery. I threw down a towel in the bottom for my daughter to help her sit without falling but even that didn't help because she still slipped on the tub and smacked her face on the side of the tub. And then my husband went to take a shower and almost fell getting out and there's no bars in the shower to even help assist you from falling. The only bar is on the outside next to the toilet, which isn't very easy to access since you can't get out right there because the toilets in the way.

The housekeepers were loudly talking about us out in the hall one morning and said "I don't understand why they don't want housekeeping in the room, if you don't want someone in your room, you shouldn't stay in a hotel". The housekeepers are constantly heard in the hallways using the F word and yelling loudly down the hall to bring them things..completely unprofessional. We constantly were worried that housekeeping was going to come in and pilfer through our things even though we had a sign on the door. The walls in the hotel are paper thin and you constantly hear doors slamming and people in the halls. I would only stay here if I HAD no other options. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

We ate a huge dinner at the Gasthof, drove ten minutes to our room and took a nap. You might do the same. The family who run this motel are friendly. Many of the folks who stay here are traveling workers. They were quiet and respectful, go to bed early and leave for early shifts. We smelled some delicious BBQ someone was making on an outdoor grill. The fridge in our room is unusually large for in a motel. Make sure to plug it in if you stay here. The A/C works great.

The hotel wifi is terrible since video streaming was always loading. The only reason I stayed here is because the Hampton was too expensive. I would not recommend staying here for long trips.

Country View Inn…read more When looking for a decent hotel in Robinson, the choices are fairly limited. However, upon recommendations from a co-worker, I decided to give the Country View Inn a try. My standard king room was good, with a comfy bed and nice-sized bathroom/tub/shower. Breakfast was provided every morning downstairs, including a good assortment of hot food, including eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, along with bacon or sausage. The staff was always very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The price was an excellent value for the money.

The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.

French Lick Springs Hotel somehow manages to feel both grand and incredibly relaxing. The wraparound porch quickly became one of our favorite places. We spent a ridiculous amount of time rocking in the chairs, enjoying the gorgeous weather and taking in the peaceful views. It felt like stepping back to a time when people weren't in such a hurry. One thing I didn't expect was how convenient it was to explore the area. The complimentary shuttle was fantastic. We rode over to the casino resort, spent hours walking the grounds and exploring the restaurants, and on the way back the driver even dropped a few guests off at CVS and simply told them to call when they were ready for pickup. It's little touches like that that make you feel genuinely taken care of. Our room service breakfast was another highlight. Everything arrived hot and beautifully presented, from the biscuits and gravy to the fresh fruit oatmeal and perfectly cooked breakfast. Starting the morning with breakfast by the window overlooking those incredible grounds was hard to beat. The hotel itself has so many little spaces to discover. We wandered through the historic bathhouse, found a billiards room tucked away, admired the architecture, and never once felt rushed to get back to our room. Sultans run is one of the coolest courses I've ever seen and everyone at that course was super friendly and made for a great experience. Even when we were running couple minutes behind, the starter gave us great vibes. It's definitely worth the extra 30 minutes to go there rather than Donald Ross. Second, Phil at the links course was outstanding and was someone who wanted to make sure our experience was great. Curious to see what the course will look like once the renovations end. The disappointments start with the lackluster effort. Besides Phil, nobody seemed to want to make our experience stand out. Just the smallest thing would've been appreciated and I even asked if anything extra could do for the bachelor and I was met with nothing. The person who I talked to (will refrain from naming him) did great at helping me plan everything but failed to mention that when you get a group package that it's not really at a discount rate. I'm not kidding you there is literally no discount so it's basically false advertising saying you get a group rate. I was basically being told I needed to do a group package (now I know it was just to make things easier for him and didn't benefit us at all) One late add on even found his room cheaper online than for what we got. If I hadn't done my research, multiple people would have paid double their price because they were unable to play the most expensive course yet would've been charged as if they had played. This brings me to the second part where Pete dye course is very cool but the price you pay plus caddy fee and tip is outrageous. There is no reason anyone should be paying over $500 for a round for that course in middle of nowhere. Instead they are giving u a crappy whiskey and some glasses in a nice box to try and put a bow on being way overpriced. It's a great course but it is ridiculously over priced. Lastly the food within the resort is very ok and also overpriced. If you go across the street you get way better food at the steakhouse and the sports bar and a better environment. Nothing special about the Casino either. It's pretty small and has a small bar too

West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

More like covered event space. Wedding perfect. Room was clean. Beds are not very comfortable. Killed my back and my husband's. We had a two bedroom suite which was the perfect size for the four of us. It had two balconies overlooking the atrium which I will never, ever book again. Too loud! All night long too loud! Even from the sixth floor, even with earplugs. Only exterior view next time for a stay. I would return next year for all of the holiday events. My kids loved this trip because of all the new experiences they had. Lots of things to do in the area that get you outdoors. Lovely part of Indiana in the Autumn (when we visited).

We asked the front desk for an upper floor room and were told no. No apology or explanation. The room was battle weary, and dirty. See photos of the beat up desk chair, mismatched cut-price toiletries and dirty corner of the floor next to the bathtub (with the dirt we got up with 1 swipe of a Kleenex. Breakfast both days was cold cooked eggs. At least the microwave worked. Every machine in the place makes industrial level noise. Find someplace else - even if it means driving to Vincennes or Jasper. We won't be back - even if I have to sleep in the car. UGH!
