    Bug in bed!!!!
    Leo M.

I wish the stay would not have started with lifting the sheets and seeing a bug!!!! At least it was dead but still disgusting. It made it just little bit more difficult to get comfortable and I feel was not really much consideration besides giving us a different room. I gave 2 stars for the affordability & free breakfast .

Where to start. As you first walk in it smells like rotten eggs, like natural gas or sewage. There was a huge cockroach in the luggage cart closet. If you want to sleep well , stay on the 3rd floor . If you don't care about noise at all hours of the night , this hotel is for you. The washing machine broke and ruined my clothes. I travel for work full time and this hotel is by far the worst in cleanliness and hospitality. Not the cleaning staffs fault. The cleaning staff is so sweet and kind, they do a good job. The facility needs to be renovated. My room smelled horrible. I requested to speak with the manager multiple times and never got a response from the manager. I requested a room on the 3rd floor due to the noise of the doors slamming at all hours of the night . I was scheduled to stay a month for the project I was working on and getting 4 hours of sleep each night wasn't going to cut it with how noise traveled in my room. I was told the men workers take priority over me. They offered me a room on the second floor but it was in the same shape. I wish I could write some great way they tried to make it better but they didn't. Stay in Mobile or keep driving. A follow up after my stay: due to the smell in the hotel and my room, my clothes I had left, have the same smell and I can't get the odor out of my clothes no matter how many times I washed them.

2nd floor room - the fan doesn't work and the TV had a black line through it

Being a Holiday Inn, I had low expectations and even those weren't met. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere with only 2 gas stations nearby. If you want food, you'd need to "drive to town." The hotel itself is okay and seems safe-ish. I understand they're in the middle of renovations so things won't be perfect but upon walking in, you're greeted with the strong smell of urine in the lobby. We never saw anyone working on any rooms so I'm wondering if this is an excuse to have a shoddy environment. Since we stayed here twice (it was the halfway point going and coming back), we had the luxury of trying 2 different rooms and having nearly the same experience. The first time, we had a room on the 2nd floor and it was okay. The second time was a 3rd floor room and the entire floor and room smelled like old people. Both rooms were decent in size but both bathrooms lacked shelves and racks to hang anything on. The hairdryer was on the floor under the sink and towels would need to be strung over the curtain rail. It was a mess. The bathrooms also don't have fans so the humidity would flood the room, so that could be the source of the faint mildew smell. The beds were moderately comfortable but the pillows... no. The pillow cases say Firm and Soft for each but it's more like Extremely Soft and Nonexistent. The thing we hated the most was breakfast. It was utterly nonexistent. For stop 1, they were out of everything and it was only 7:30 (breakfast started 1hr ago). We. Were. Pissed. Stop 2 was the same thing except when breakfast started at 6:30 and we went down at 6:40, nothing was out. There were quite a few people standing around waiting on something to come out of the kitchen. When food did, it was still meh. Hardly any options and no flavor. The eggs were clearly boxed and everything lacked quality. It was the worst and having a breakfast buffet is 1 of the deciding factors for me on whether or not I'll stay at a hotel. The only thing they had going for them was the service and even that was touch and go. If you got the younger woman with the tattoos, best service ever. She's super friendly, personable, and makes an effort to remember your name and get to know you. If you get the older woman, expect her to be cranky as hell and not provide any exceptional service. Parking is also in abundance so there's 1 additional bonus. The bottom line is if you're looking for a place to lay your head, this gets the job done. I wouldn't have stayed here twice over the holiday break otherwise.

What keeps me coming back is that I feel like I get value for my money. Compared to many casinos, Beau Rivage has been generous with complimentary offers, free play, dining credits, and other promotions. While gambling always involves risk, I personally feel like my money lasts longer here, and I've had some enjoyable wins over the years. Although I haven't personally won more than $1,000 at one time, I've seen many reports on social media and heard from family and friends who have won several thousand dollars here. The property itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere makes for an enjoyable experience whether you're there to gamble, dine, or relax. One thing I really appreciate that often gets overlooked is the restrooms. The women's bathrooms are very spacious with a large number of stalls, which makes a big difference during busy times. Even when the casino is crowded, you don't feel packed in or waiting forever. Everything is kept clean and well-organized, and it's one of the more comfortable restroom setups I've experienced in a large casino. Parking is a bit of a long walk from the garage to the casino floor, but I personally don't mind it because it gives me some extra walking and exercise. For those who prefer convenience, valet is a good option, especially for seniors or anyone with mobility concerns. My biggest concern is the cell phone service inside the casino. Most of the time, your phone will not work properly once you're deep inside the building, especially in the casino area. It feels like being underground or in a basement where service drops completely. To get a signal back, you often have to walk closer to exits or the security desk area, or wait until you leave the casino entirely. In today's world, having reliable phone service is important, and this is definitely something Beau Rivage should improve. As for the dining options, I've eaten at Stalla, Salt & Ivy Coastal Kitchen, and several of the other restaurants on the property. The food quality has generally been good, and the restaurants provide a nice dining experience. Salt & Ivy Coastal Kitchen, in particular, stands out. The food was very good and better reflected the comfort food, Southern flavors, and Mississippi Gulf Coast cooking that I was hoping to find during my visit. I think some of the other restaurants at Beau Rivage could take notes from Salt & Ivy when it comes to menu development and food preparation. While many of the other restaurants serve good food, some menus feel more generic and don't always capture the local flavors and culinary traditions of Mississippi and the Gulf Coast. When I visit Biloxi, I want to experience food that reflects the region, and Salt & Ivy does a much better job of delivering that experience. The buffet is decent and offers a variety of choices, but I would also like to see more regional favorites and authentic Gulf Coast cuisine. With Beau Rivage being such a premier destination in Biloxi, I think the food program has the potential to better showcase the area's culinary traditions. The only thing I'm still waiting on is a complimentary room offer! Hopefully that comes with future visits. Overall, Beau Rivage continues to be one of my favorite casinos. Between the beautiful property, enjoyable gaming experience, generous promotions, and quality amenities, it's a place I recommend to friends and family. A few improvements to the food offerings and phone connectivity would make the experience even better.
