Our room 331 had an old smoke smell. The floor creaked. The breakfast was ok. Exercise treadmill out if two only one worked. Not enough handicapped parking. Spots up front reserved for Deluxe Members were closer to front doors than handicap spots. read more

1) Phones in room do not work so had to go down each time we had an issue. 2) Rooms were not cleaned daily and when we asked for them to be cleaned, they said the cleaners were already gone (it was noon-1pm!). 3) The following day, we asked earlier for the room to be cleaned. The cleaner came but barely made the bed (see pictures), threw some towels on the rack (two bath towels only even though there are three people staying), did not replace the empty toilet paper or Kleenex, didn't clean the bathrooms or floors, and overall just neglected the "clean the room" task. 4) The workout room is pretty decent. 5) Main lobby staff is nice. 6) But overall, for what you pay, the room service was mediocre at best. Main thing I would recommend they seriously look into is their cleaning staff. I realize they are one of two decent places to stay in this town, but that is no reason to take advantage of that fact and provide sub-par service. Everyone else we encountered in Perry (at restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations, etc) were so great and provided such great service, it would be nice if the holiday inn express lived up to the standards that the rest of the businesses in town did. read more

Currently undergoing a renovation, the hotel is a bit of a mess. We were told breakfast was until 9, but when came down at 8:30am on Thursday morning, the juice had been turned off, the hot foods were pulled, as was much of everything else. Just the muffins and coffee were left. It was a bit disappointing. The room was comfortable, but still unfinished, missing it's valance left the room looking incomplete. Hotel "Amenities" consisting of a vending machine so why the $100 hold on top of the room charge is a mystery. My breakfast at 8:42AM consisted of an empty coffee pot and and empty tray when something (maybe cinnamon buns) used to be BUT, to be fair, there was a bowl with shiny red apples and small cardboard boxes with cereal. A sign said 'Biscuits and Gravy' but searching the kitchen, I found nothing. I would have asked but, except for one other guest, the place was empty. The management is hostile to anything negative about this pit, so, on a positive note, we did not suffer the bed bug problem and did find the Hampton just up the road that had a vacancy. read more

It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.

The hotel seemed nice at first, definitely no complaints about the staff. I check the beds EVERY time I go to a hotel, this time was no different. Found nothing alarming until we were all asleep. My daughter was on her phone and started noticing bugs crawling on her blanket and that she was getting bit on her back. Upon further investigation we found bed bugs in the couch (fold out bed) and one of the queen beds. We couldn't find where they were coming from so it wasn't in the typical places to check. At the front desk another family was checking out for the exact same thing. They were on the floor below is on the other side (room 207, we were 321). Ended up leaving the hotel and going elsewhere. read more

The rooms are spacious, clean, and updated. They have a 'happy hour' in the dining room from 6-8 pm. The breakfast was also really good with selections such as omelets, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, as well as all the other usuals. read more

Sorely disappointed. We booked our king room three weeks in advance, check in, drop our items off to head to a family function. We come back to our room a few hours later and the entire room reeks of weed, our nostrils burning, and I- have a severe lung disease, with another family member staying here having lymphoma cancer currently.... we both cannot medically handle any sort of smoke, drug. We complained, they had no more king beds and move us to a queen room, which apparently is more expensive and yet less in quality, with visible smudges on couch, sitting areas & the TV does not work etc. They gave us "extra points" with an apology.... which sounds more like a lousy excuse to put a band aid on a very, very serious situation that could end one of us in the hospital. They said there was nothing they could do because the entire floor shares the same ventilation system. So before you book, I would go else where. If you have allergies, breathing issues or in our case medically fragile family.... find another place. The manager wasn't on call but apparently she will be "notified". Incredibly disappointed, complete waste of money. read more

I can only give 3 stars as max. The people were great. We changed from using our Marriott Rewards program to Holiday Inn's as we were traveling from Florida to Upper Peninsula in Michigan the previous year. We travel with our cruiser bikes and all of them allowed us to store our bikes in a empty room. There were many on our route and it was a great experience. A few weeks ago we jumped In the car with no destination as we we mourning the passing of my father in law. We have 2 different uneventful experiences. This location the front desk was awesome. Again allowed us to store our bikes. As we were gathering our items to get back on the road on the side of the bed was a zip lock bag with a sex toy, lube and a condom. I took it to the front desk who called up the house keeping manager. They were very shocked to what I presented them. My concern was how long was it there and just imagine if I had any children traveling with us and they found the item! I used reward points for that stay. I feel it was wasted on that visit. I received no phone call or concerns for what happened. Also, this room had a very musty smell as if there had been water damage in the room in the past. Let me say the picture is not pretty. I'm originally from here and I know the limited options ppl have for decent hotels.. with that being said the owners of this place takes full advantage of that by price gouging the fuck out of ppl. If at all possible stay at Hampton if it's not full. If Hampton is full keep driving it'll be worth it . I live in LA now and can stay in some really nice places for the amount or less than what these greedy sob charge. Not only do you pay out the ass to come home an visit family if you stay here you also have to deal with some of the shitiest , rudest ,cleaning service I have ever in all my traveling ran across but some smartass thinks it is funny after they clean the shower to aim the shower head to spray you when you turn the shower on spraying cold water on my 16month old causing her to fall and hit her head on the toilet .. so since they're such smartasses and wanna wet the floor I'm going to just let the mf'er run on the floor for a while , it doesn't matter if you're good or platinum ihg member or not they're literally beating on the door at 10 till 11am "check out time" and calling the room etc. they're to ignorant to realize that every time they call or beat on the door you have to stop packing your shit to answer the same question they asked 5 mins before that .. Stayed here 02-21-2022 through 02-26-2022 . Monday through Thursday OK come in about 7:00pm and did not see any notices posted, Friday morning they had a letter size paper taped on the covid shield at the desk that the water would be shut off from 11:00am to 4:00pm Saturday and Sunday. No phone call or text or note on room. We were in town for a wedding and had 11 people to get ready for wedding at 4:00pm. Went out back and Talked to job manager of construction company said they were changing shut-off valves and only one shut off in building asked why they didn't do it after mid nite said might disturb guest. I have been around construction all my life and I know there are always options if you want to pay the money apparently they did not. It was to late to get a room at the Hampton across the street. We had to find another place to get ready and had to run water in bathtub before shut off so we could flush the toilet. All we asked for ws to take that 1 day off and they said no and of course Coporate in INDIA said it did not have the power to do that lol.So will be staying at Hampton from here on out. read more

Hotel was fine and would have given 5 stars but they didn't seem to care about the breakfast area. No plates, spoons. No cinnamon rolls or orange juice. Said they were out. All food was scarce. Dining room full and it was apparent that nothing was coming out unless someone asked for it. This breakfast seemed like a real inconvenience to the attendant. Five stars on the facility. We have stayed here several times, but this time hotel appeared and smelled cleaner? Maybe some updates to the lobby area? Here for football weekend and no issues. Nice large double room. Very clean. Slept good and the extended breakfast hours were nice for those who slept in. Nice touch with the Snoozapooloza. Was given a later check out before our drive back to Orlando which was gravely appreciated. Staff was very helpful. read more

BEWARE OF THE CANCELLATION POLICY - IT IS BY 6 PM 24 IN ADVANCE NOT 6 PM THE DAY OF! MOST HOTELS ARE 6 PM THE DAY OF. A few years ago this hotel was fine but it's is starting to look a bit run down like many a few years old including dirty grout, mold in the shower, lamp shade was broken and dirty, the sheets were so thin I could see through them, the rear entrance door had a coating of dirt on it and was difficult to open, the air conditioner was loud, etc., etc. I also had to laugh as the exterior paint of the hotel had recently been power washed leaving obvious sprayer marks over the entire exterior. Hope they didn't pay anyone for the work. I've tried the Hampton across the street and it's not much better so good luck perhaps you will have better luck. read more
