I have been a regular customer for many years staying here on business. First the pluses: Friendly front office staff, coffee in lobby, Keurig coffeemakers in rooms, comfortable beds, clean sheets. Now the neutral: hi fat breakfast provided, small gym. Outdoor pool that is often closed when I am here. Now the negative. The floors in the room are consistently filthy. There is tile in the bathroom and by the entrance. My bare feet turn black from walking on it. I let management know each time, and I'm told it's the cleaners they have to use from the franchise. But take a look at what a towel wet with water brings up, on my last several stays, each towel a different stay. PreCOVID they had a different cleaning staff, and the hotel was immaculate. We came here for an overnight stay. They were doing some renovations, but we knew this in advance, and it wasn't a problem. In fact, it may have made our stay less expensive. And we were out of the hotel during the daytime when the workers were at their noisies. We had a room on the 3rd floor. The hotel is set back from the street (behind the Dennys), so noise wasn't a factor. There was ample parking around the hotel. The room and everything was clean. The hallways looked newly redone -- fresh carpeting and new paint. Everything worked well in the room. I always enjoy having a d as mall refrigerator. There were extra outlets between the queen size beds for our phone chargers. Checkin and checkout were smooth. The staff at the front desk were welcoming. The (included) breakfast was good -- eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc etc. There was a coffee dispenser by the front desk should you wish a cup anytime. We'd stay here again. read more

We stayed two nights and requested a late checkout on Sunday. The parking lot had been empty all weekend. We went down at six am and were told the dayshift is the person to talk to. They were late and weren't there at seven as we'd been told. We called at ten forty five and the man's response to my request was" we are not offering late checkouts today, there is nothing I can do for you. I've stayed at dozens of these properties and while I don't expect luxury, I do expect, comfort, cleanliness, competence, value and no negative surprises. I love it when a hotel meets my expectations and that's exactly what happened here! Location- This hotel is on Route 27 and within five or ten minutes in either directions are tons of restaurants and bars. Most are chains but if you use your handy dandy Yelp app you can sniff out some excellent private establishments. Customer Service- Six stars! From the friendly staff to the timely and appropriate texts and even electronic checkout, everything was top shelf. Property- The first word that comes to mind is spotless! There was not even a hint of litter outside. The lobby was also immaculate. Ditto the restaurant. My room was perfectly made up and also spotless. Everything in my room that I used worked flawlessly. Stayed for four nights while visiting family in the area. Staff was excellent! My room (202) was a larger than normal king bed with jacuzzi style tub adjacent the bathroom. I don't tend to use housekeeping when I stay a few nights; but, due to the longer than normal visit, I opted to have them come thru. As mentioned above, staff was always smiling and offering a "good morning / hello." The offered breakfast was a typical HI Express type of fare. Well stocked (could have been a bit warmer in the warming trays tho). My only complaint: not enough raisin oatmeal cookies in the complimentary tray out front (lol). Will be back... Note: my two older brothers stayed for four nights as well, all in similarly styled rooms (one on the first floor and the other on the third). Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for three days over the holidays. The location was great but this HI was below our expectations - we stay at HIE a lot. The room was nice, but needs some maintenance. Two of the drawers in the bedroom dresser fall out in your hands when you try to open. On One of the free standing lamps the light bulb is hanging down and appears to be an electrical hazard. My wife's flat iron would not stay plugged in to the outlet in the bathroom. Service to our room was very late on Sunday so when we returned to our room for an afternoon nap we had to wait for our room to be cleaned. If it was possible to give no stars I would. I was in town for one night to see family, it was me and my husband and my two-year-old son. When we checked in Megan at the front desk was so nice and helpful we got a king suite with two bedrooms when I got into our room the room was supposed to be non-smoking and smelled like an ashtray, so I went down to Meghan again and asked her if I could switch rooms she informed me that no other rooms were available which is understandable it was last minute. so I told her no big deal just please have them clean the room and refresh it a lady came in to "refresh" the room she sprayed some stuff in the corners and left. My husband went to the store to buy some air fresheners and I was fine a couple minutes later my son who is two years old walked up to me with a wallet that was found in the couch. HERES WHERE I HAVE A PROBLEM. THE WALLET HAD A BAGGIE OF DRUGS IN IT. Not only does that show that during this pandemic they are not cleaning upto requirements but my two-year-old had just walked up to me with a wallet with drugs. At this point I went down and spoke with an assistant manager I believe her name was Maureen she told me there was nothing she could do except for give me the room for $50 cheaper knowing that I had nowhere else to stay with such short notice I said OK that will work please clean the room while I am out to lunch and it when we get back I hope it will be clean. As I was leaving we noticed our hotel room door would not lock this was the tip of the iceberg so I went back down to Maureen and explained her this wasn't going to work I wanted my room comped there was too many issues with this room I asked to speak to a higher manager they told me he was not there and would not be there until the beginning of next week I said OK I'll just call corporate and get my money back that way when I mention corporate two minutes later the general manager Bryan Donahue was knocking on my door. He flat out told us he does not think he is going to satisfy us and said he will be canceling our reservation I responded back with so you're kicking me out he said no we are canceling your reservation because you are threatening to call corporate I said no now I definitely will be calling corporate we ended up staying at true by Hilton down the street which was way better read more

Sure it's an average chain - but this one had a staff that really tried to make the experience better. Our room was nice, but a desk was "missing". When we mentioned that, they stole a desk from another room for us. (Hope whoever stayed in that room didn't want a desk). When we found we had no bottle opener, the service staff (Clive and Taj) offered to lend us his Leatherman for the evening. Luckily, we could defer, as someone else found one to lend us from the kitchen area. So, as usual for a chain, there were issues, but the issues were resolved. When traveling we often stay at a Holiday Inn for convenience and value. We rate this property among the best of the Express. The morning of check-in we received a text welcoming us, and recognizing us as Spire (rewards program) members. Nice touch which made us feel welcome before we got to the hotel. The staff was polite, pleasant and helpful. In the service industry it's the small things that become the big things. We were staying there because of its close proximity to the starting location for the bicycle event "Tour of Sebring". Normally the weekend breakfast is out and ready at 6:30 AM. Because so many of us were there for the ride which started at 7:00 AM, they had the breakfast ready before 6:00 AM. Very thoughtful! We needed a late check-out time for which the staff (Megan) was understanding and accommodating. Our room was very clean and well appointed for a value hotel. My wife loved the in-room K-Cup machine as well as the always available hot coffee in the breakfast area. And of course the cookies in the evening is another example of a small thing. Our only minor unfavorable comment is our room was rather humid despite lowering the temperature to 68 degrees. September in FL is very humid, and the hotel recognized their AC wasn't up to the task as there were three plug-in dehumidifiers on our floor's hall. This didn't affect our overall great experience, but does keep us from giving this hotel 5 stars. But we'll definitely stay here again for next years bicycle event. read more

Great experience when I stayed for work in January! My room was VERY clean, and staff was very friendly. My one complaint was that half of the items in the breakfast area were out of service or broken when I was visiting. Yogurt and microwaved (in my room because there is not a public one) oatmeal gets old when you're there for longer than a week! read more

This hotel was a nightmare!!! Booked thru booking.com for $114 a night guarantee, reserved 6 rooms and when the conformation came in it was $139-149 per night. Call hotel to get help they said call booking, booking said it was up to the hotel to correct! After many hours and calls they charge my credit card before we even get there! It said on website that no charges would be made till check in. Called again! No satisfaction. My daughter gets there to check in and the lady charges her $30 dollars extra for not having me there at the time of check in rooms been payed for in my card!!! My sins leaves his car keys and wallet in his room and the room key wont work, they tell he cant get his key without his id. So I go and his wife they say sorry we need his( his wallet is locked in the room) 20 min later we find a picture of his I'd on the cell phone!!!!!! Dont ask for towels of the cart if it's not your cleaning lady You wont get any!!! Worse stay I've ever experienced. And 6 hours away from home. They are NOT EVER GOING TO GET MY BUSSINESS I paid $$$ and will never again use them read more

My family and I were staying here for ONE night due to a family emergency. My dad woke my mom up in the middle of the night with bites all over his body only to find bed bugs in their sheets and under their pillows. My parents even caught the bugs to show management and they were HUGEE (meaning they've been feeding for quite some time!) It was then that I realized I had been bitten as well in the adjacent room. After speaking to the man on staff, we requested to switch rooms. The following day, my sister, who was staying in a room further down the hall was complaining of being bitten on her hand. Her hand was extremely swollen and you could see the bite marks on her hand. She had a severe reaction and it took almost a full week for the swelling to go down. We did our best to explain this issue to staff as each of the 3 rooms we stayed in had an obvious bed bug issue. They, however, refused to follow up or compensate in any way and even now claim that we damaged one of the rooms! As a result of this experience, my family and I had to sanitize and thoroughly wash and dry our clothing or any fabric that we brought into the rooms to ensure that we did not bring them back with us. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want a bed bug problem on your hands. Facts about bed bugs: 1. Bed bugs can be extremely small to the point you do not even feel them when they bite you. This depends on whether they have been feeding for a long period of time. 2. Bed bugs can go 2-3 months without a blood meal 3. Bed bugs hide in the cracks and crevices of furniture, flooring walls, and mattresses 4. One female can produce at least 345 eggs in her lifetime 5. Bed bugs found in other rooms are a sign of infestation 6. Unless eggs are eliminated, bed bugs will continue to be a problem read more

I looked for a place to ride out hurricane Matthew and found most of the Gulf Coast was booked. The IHG app told me there might be a room here in Sebring. From the moment I called, the staff was most helpful. The hotel was the cleanest I have ever seen since staying at Disney World the year they opened. Under $100 night, refrigerator, microwave, free breakfast and helpful staff. All in the middle of a hurricane watch and mass evacuation. I will NEVER make reservations or stay here or any Holiday Inn Express again!!! I had booked a reservation for February 19th, however due to situations. I had to cancel the reservation. I called and spoke with a gentleman on the 18th and he said he would take care of it. Apparently the regular reservation girl at the front desk had been rushed off by ambulance. I thought everything was taken care of, however when I got the bill, I was charge the entire amount on February 15th! My administrative assistant called and spoke with the manger (Marisa), who ended up hanging up on her. This is unacceptable customer service! I am highly disappointed because I had use Holiday Inns all the time during my business and personal travels. I highly do not recommend this hotel or chain if this is how they treat customers! 5days ago, we checked in here and we going to be check out tomorrow. Room is fine, but I'm so ANNOYING ,angry and mad RIGHT NOW!! Because we had a BIG problem yesterday with housekeeper. What happen was, before we leave the room in the morning we put all the trash and dirty towels front of inside the room so housekeeper can know what is the trash what is NOT. However, she throw everthing away under the table. We find out as soon as we got to the room around 6 o'clock. So I talked to the the lady who works at front desk and she said she asked me what were they housekeeper throw away can you list them also how much were? So I wrote them down and the prices and gave to her, 10-15 minutes later. She said she will hand to the list to general manager and she will contact to housekeeper just in case she did not throw away. Rightnow is almost 11 pm past more than a day. As soon as got here at hotel today 6pm, I try to talk to GM to solve this problem before we go to sleep. Unfortunately lady said he is in the meeting. I can't believe that he is still in the meeting it just pasted 11pm. What kind meeting is important than customer? I was waiting all day to hear something from GM. I have not hear any apologize or they didn't even try to solve this problem. I'm upset then anybody rightnow!!! I'm hundred percent sure that this hotel is expensiver than any hotel around. Service?
