WARNING NO COFFEE... is this a thing now ??? I'm older than dirt and have never been arrested, yet was approached by a security guard this morning as I took a sip of black coffee I got from a coffee pot in the hotel lobby. (I had called earlier commenting about no coffee in the room and was told there was a coffee bar in the lobby... never any mention of a charge) Mortified, walletless, not knowing what to do, I dumped my coffee in the waste basket and went back to our room. We are staying here for a week so I called to ask how much the coffee was and was told $3.75 a cup. Now our idea of entertainment since my husband can't move around very well is sitting on the deck by the ocean and drinking coffee.... So it's kind of a big deal to us, as it probably is with other seniors and mobility challenged individuals, so thought I'd share. Aside from that the room is nice and the view great, which probably keeps people coming. Also, the pizza we had at the Hotel bar was not very good. So overall nice stay if you pack your Keurig and dine somewhere else. read more

Came here with my fiancée and it's been a really great experience. The hotel is right on the beach with its own private access and portion of the beach. The pool and jacuzzi are right on the sand, which makes it extra relaxing. The staff is super helpful and we have to give a shoutout to Noah Vegas for the customer service he provided. The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is due to the food. They only offer a lackluster breakfast buffet and during the day undercooked pizza. I'd pass on the food but everything else was solid. read more

This was our family's first time staying at Best Western Premier - The Tides, even though we're regular visitors to the Orange Beach area. We wanted to arrive a couple of days before checking into our condo, so we booked a two-night stay here, and we're glad we did. The hotel is on the smaller side, but that's actually part of its charm. It's centrally located in Orange Beach, making it easy to get to restaurants, attractions, and shopping. The beach access is unbeatable, and the views from the dining area are absolutely beautiful. There is a pool, but it's fairly small. Since the entire property is smaller than many beachfront resorts, you won't have a ton of privacy around the pool. On the plus side, it never felt overcrowded, which made for a relaxing stay. One thing I definitely recommend is eating breakfast here. It was excellent and a great way to start the day. They also serve pizza in the evenings. It's a thick, almost Chicago-style pizza, so just know what you're ordering. The flavor was fantastic, and one pizza was easily enough to feed our family. Our room was a huge hit with the kids. It included bunk beds, which they were so excited about, along with an Xbox, a desk, and a large flat-screen TV. It really felt like the hotel had families in mind. The lobby gift shop was also surprisingly well stocked with snacks, drinks, toiletries, and even common medicines you might need during your stay. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay if you're looking for an extra night or two in Orange Beach before or after your main vacation. I'd gladly stay here again. My only suggestion for the hotel: since you're serving that delicious, hearty pizza, it might be worth stocking a few antacids or Tums in the gift shop too! 10/10--highly recommended! read more

We stayed here for five nights and we loved it!! we had a great beachfront view room, they have a great breakfast buffet for $14 which is a good price. You can get a custom-made omelette or a crêpe and a variety of foods in the morning. Have a nice coffee bar with homemade muffins and cookies.! There's a nice bar by the pool that you can get a couple frozen drinks or a custom-made drink. Only problem was the generic alcohol. I enjoyed the frozen bushwhacker without all the chocolate syrup and whipped cream. I fell in love with my pillow and would've loved to take it with me! The bed was very comfortable and I slept great. The whole trip with very nice towels and and made service if desired. Family friendly with a very nice pool and a shallow part for toddlers. Nice little walk way to the beach, which is white soft sand and was amazed by the shallow ocean. Could walk out pretty far with decent waves for jumping. The lobby desk was very friendly and helpful! They gave us recommendations for restaurants and everyone we tried was awesome. Great location near FloraBama, the state parks, trails, The Wharf etc. They charged for parking, but it was convenient. There was always parking available. We would highly recommend and we would return on our next visit to Orange Beach. read more

Great family hotel. Solid daily breakfast with real eggs. Friendly and helpful staff (Kesha at the front desk, Harry in housekeeping, and the daytime bartender by the pool made our stay extra special). Our Gulf Front King Room had great views and sounds of the beach, couldn't be any closer unless you were on a boat. Convenient beach and umbrella chair rental located directly in front of the resort ($40 per day for 2 chairs plus umbrella). We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it a day. The minuses: -The rooms, at least the one we stayed in did NOT have a bathtub nor did it have a shower hose. This is a serious issue for when washing a toddler. -The cost was a little high $408 per night (likely Spring Break was the culprit. -Pool is a little odd. Has concrete supports going through it. We love this place and always stay here when visiting !!! The staff is friendly, hotel is in a prime location, and everything is super clean. We love the bartender named Spring who was able to read our minds when it came to fabulous drinks and gave us tourist information. She was creative with the drinks and very personal. Unfortunately she was only there upon our arrival on Friday for Labor Day weekend and then replaced by a bartender who was incompetent, slow and not able to understand our orders. Why would you not have your experienced bartender over a busy Labor Day weekend ??? Should have kept Spring on for the busy weekend instead of this guy who made everything difficult making us all want to go to a different bar. The new bartender had no idea what a floater was... you should have Spring train him instead of leaving him on his own. Other than that, a perfect hotel. read more

Due to a change in plans, we arrived in Orange Beach a day before our Airbnb rental was available. So I needed a one night stay. We selected the Tides, and I'm so glad we did! The hotel has kind of a unique layout - when you enter from the parking lot, you have to take the elevator upstairs to the main lobby. The check-in was efficient, quick and friendly, and our hotel room overlooked the water so the view was amazing. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, we so enjoyed all the variations, including the made to order crêpes! We were able to get beach towels from the front desk and went out to the beach where we rented chairs and an umbrella for the day. The beach is beautiful, and very clean. The hotel gives you a wristband to wear, so we were able to come back onto the pool deck and use the restrooms throughout the day. We also ordered lunch from the pool deck. The menu consists entirely of just pizza, but that was fine (it was so delicious!) and hit the spot. Then, in the late afternoon when our Airbnb rental was available, we just returned our beach towels, and hit the road. Great location. Beach view and access. Comfortable beds. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Covered parking at $11 a day. Breakfast buffet at $14.50 per person. Pool, hot tub and outside bar facing the beach. And the beach is beautiful! Another perk is the lobby is on the 4th floor so you don't have to pass the lobby staff every time you come in and out. Great concept. We were on the 7th floor with a balcony and beach view. Off season pricing is a steal for such a nice place! Will stay again. 4 stars because once we arrived they charged $11 for parking when we reserved it for $10. But it is covered parking so that is a plus. We had to put a $50 deposit for each night for incidentals. I am used to Marriott hotels where I don't have to put a deposit, they have free parking and free buffet breakfast. It's not a deal breaker but just little irritations. Other than that, great experience and stay. read more

As a Diamond Select BW Member, I can clearly document just how little integrity the management team has and how poorly they treat customers. There are plenty of alternative facilities that treat customers respectfully, but not here. I must say I am somewhat of a hotel snob. lol But we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was small but CLEAN. How did I know ? Because I brought my own cleaning supplies and there wasn't much they left untouched!! Awesome job staff!!! Please pay them well. Driving into the attached parking deck was a treat because we were able to see the beach from the garage. You will be charged nightly for parking. I didn't mind because parking was soooo convenient! We were only suppose to be here one night but decided to extend our stay 2 more nights. We are here now and it's really hard to leave. I traveled here with my 6 year old daughter. She loved the pool area more than anything. I loved that I was able to either join her or sit really close by and relax under the shade. They serve pizza every day until 8pm without many other options. They have a few things like turkey wraps, Caesar salads, croissant chicken salad sandwiches, cookies, cinnamon rolls that they keep in the lobby's very very small gift shop. (More like a corner) There are several restaurants close by as well as a Publix. Buffet breakfast is available or you have the option to order a breakfast sandwich or omelettes. Our Server Shontal was the absolute sweetest !!!! If you are looking for a place to relax this is definitely where you would want to be. We will definitely be back soon!!! read more

List of problems: 1.if you book through a 3rd party like Expedia the description of the rooms is deceiving. The description for beach view vs. Beach front is not explained plus the pictures showing the view from the balcony are the same. The beach view has a street view with it. Not explained in the room description. 2. Beds are completely worn out. I had to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed and in the center. 3. No clocks in the rooms 4. Very few handicapped parking spaces 5. Parking is $11 per day 6. TV has no sound 7. Dead bolt on room door wont lock 8. Phone has very short cord and positioned on other side of room. I just checked in today and everything was good on the check in, location of the hotel, cleanliness, friendly hotel staff. The only thing was the water pressure in my shower was super super low. Horrible. I attempted to call the front desk but nobody answered. I will try to make contact with the front desk again tomorrow and I am super tired from my drive today. I will update this review through the week. A few key details to point out during the virus is they no longer offer room cleaning service. You basically let them know what you need as far as towels, linens, and etc by hanging a check list outside the door. You also take out your own trash where they provide huge trash cans in the hall way for you to throw out. I notified the front desk of the super low water pressure In my shower. It's been about 12 hours and still the same crappy water pressure. It's so weak that I was unable to wash the sand off of my legs from the beach. It's super pathetic. The one bright thing about this place is the free complimentary breakfast in the beautiful lobby dining area overlooking the ocean. I enjoyed the eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and biscuits with gravy. It's not a buffet style anymore due to the outbreak but an employee prepares a plate for you. Well after 3 days of constantly reminding them about my super low water pressure. It was finally fixed. One bad thing is I had a super small microwave. It barely fit my ramen noodles I brought. I really do miss room service as our room/bathroom got a-little dirty. It definitely makes the jobs way easier for the employees at the hotels since they no longer have to clean hotel rooms daily. Must be nice! Lol As far as the price I paid for the quality, it wasn't bad. I also wished they could of changed up the breakfast a tad bit. It got very tiring on eating the same sausage, biscuit, egg, potatoes, and bacon for 4 mornings in a row!! Actually one morning, they didn't even have bacon or gravy. Lol I was praying each morning on something different like ham, chicken, or etc. If I am able to score the same nightly rates as I was able to, I will definitely be coming back again. read more

Absolutely amazing hotel, and a great price with an amazing location. Prior to arrival I'd called and spoken to Lindsay with a few questions and she was very courteous and helpful. Yes, there is beach service (independent) at the hotel for chairs/umbrellas. It's a unique property as the first three levels are parking garage, Lobby and breakfast dining are on the fourth floor, and guest rooms are fifth through seven. Easily pull into the garage and park in a check-in spot and take the elevator up to 4. We arrived late at night & Courtney took great care and checked us in quickly. You'll receive a parking pass, room keys, and wrist bands for each guest. The view from the gulf front rooms is great, and I'm certain the corner view will continue to be decent. There is another property being built between the Tides and the Cotton public parking area so the western facing room views may suffer but this place is great. Rooms are perfect sized, clean, and modern. This was our first trip to Orange Beach but will not be our last. read more

Just a matter of time until good goes bad. I was debating whether to give them a 1-star, but I'd have to be miserable to do that. I wasn't miserable, but I also wasn't very happy with our recent stay at Best Western Premier Tides-Orange Beach. Below is my review with our most recent stay: - Complimentary Breakfast: Say goodbye b/c now their policy has changed. It's no longer complimentary and costs $14.99/guest adult and $6.99/guest kids under 3 or 4 years old. I never thought to look through the amenities changes b/c I guess I've never seen a hotel actually change them. If I would have known that they axed the breakfast, I would have booked elsewhere. - Complimentary Expresso Machine: Say goodbye to that awesome coffee machine they had in the Lobby. Everyone loved that machine as it offered many varieties of coffee/express/cappuccino. Now they have a express bar and yes you can expect to pay for it. - Noisy Elevator: One of their elevators was making really loud sounds anytime it was being utilized. It was so loud that every floor could hear it no matter how far you were from the elevator. It made sleeping a nightmare. We complained about it, but they could not do anything b/c they were waiting for the 3rd party tech to fix it. The tech finally came a fixed it our 3rd night. Even one of the staff was scared to go on the elevator, but the noise was super annoying. - Housekeeping: TERRIBLE. All they do is swap out your towels and make your bed. They failed refill out body wash bottle so we had to go to the lobby to keep getting more, they made one of the two queen beds but failed to make the other which makes zero sense and they didnt change the sheets on either bed, failed to clean bathroom, etc. - Refrigerator: Wasn't cooling very well. No point of complaining to them. - Fire Alarm: While we were eating lunch in the lobby, the fire alarm went off. It was SUPER loud. If you didn't cover your ears they would bleed. There was no fire and not sure what caused it but it went off for a good 10+ min. Could have been a guest, not really the hotel's fault, but it seemed that everyone was scrambling to figure out what is going on. Overall, this didn't feel like the same hotel we've been visiting for the past 3 years. I think it was about that time that we start moving with time and start renting condos or vacation homes. read more

Good hotel for the price and location. Visited the beach on a Sunday and decided to stay 1 night. Easy parking garage ($10 per day) but limited on each level). Beach access right off of pool area. They provide pool towels in the lobby and offer a small pool bar. Laydown chairs are limited so I was happy to get one. The view from the lobby (where breakfast is) is gorgeous! If they had music or more people in the lobby/bar area, we would've joined in on the fun but it was empty. Rooms are cute and come with a balcony which was very nice to relax on. They offer gourmet pizza at this hotel but I wasn't lucky enough to try it. Next time! read more

From assisting me with selecting my food to taking time to speak with me about the area and just being so kind and so present all the time. The staff are all so friendly- except - and this is why four not five stars - front desk clerk Courtney on the evening shift. Courtney doesn't like customer service and uses her job to be snotty. She is unfriendly, pushy, condescending and doesn't hesitate to use a rough tone. Her negative reactions are not in any way measured to the situations. Four stars. Because of Courtney. Don't let the Best Western image scare you off, this place is top notch! Right on the beach, rooms and lobby areas are clean and modern. I'm a flight attendant and spend LOTS of time in hotels and this is as good or better than I normally stay. The outdoor pool and bar area overlook the beach. The bartenders Marie and Marianna are amazing! They have a list of signature drinks but don't hesitate to make your own favorite....just be sure to check the prices as the bar manager keeps an eagle eye on the pour! They advertise a 1.25oz shot so can't really complain, just a little weak for the price. A plus for me, but others might not agree, is that it is NOT pet friendly. This hotel was Amazing, we tried booking at another hotel which overbooked and they had to send us here (thank god) this place is way better than the IHG holiday inn... Large rooms with enough space for the whole family. Hot showers, nice pool, beach access, the complimentary breakfast was top tier with an amazing view every morning. We aren't 21 yet but because of the overbooking circumstance they allowed it. If they lowered the age stay we would come again 100%!!!! Also plenty of parking nice parking garage, the only thing that would need some work would be the elevators are a little slow. This hotel had beautiful views, wonderful staff, and the best accommodations. When we arrived we were greeted by a very helpful staff member. Everything was so fresh and clean. The breakfast setup and options was just perfect. Very clean. The rooms were very clean. The pool area was amazing and the pool was very nice. Only negative the elevators took a long time. We will forsure be staying again. Also to add we left our cellphone in the room when we checked out and we got a call from the front desk in like 10min that we left it. We hadn't even left the hotel yet!! I would say if you have children make sure to buy the white T-shirt for them and make it your own when you get home like we did!! read more

We stayed here the very first weekend Alabama lifted the quarantine closure of beaches. This place gets 4 stars for the location! Walking distance to the Publix shopping center. Service was great despite not offering breakfast/housekeeping (again due to covid). Nice pool and very easy access to the beach. If you want to reserve seats at the beach, however, you do have to pay a fee to a third party vendor. The hotel does not provide seats at the beach. I would come back for sure. read more

I was skeptical as to just how good a Best Western could be. I travel a lot for business and Best Westerns usually aren't where I stay. But the pictures online suckered me in so I booked the room and me and my wife were off to vacation in Orange Beach. Little odd, but when you check in the lobby is actually on the 4th floor. Fourth floor actually being the first level that has rooms. First three are parking garage. And the elevators are a bit on the slow side. But the view from the lobby and the layout of the rest of the hotel are really top notch at this price level. Super clean, everything is bright and airy. I wish the pool bar stayed open a little bit longer but they don't object (although they have signs forbidding it) to you bringing your own cooler full of drinks and sitting out there as long as you like. This place is smaller in comparison to some of the other lodging options in the area. We loved it and would never consider staying anywhere else when we go back to Orange Beach. read more

BEST value and BEST staff on the beach. First...BREAKFAST is included...with inflation and kids, you can not beat that. eggs, sausage, bacon, rolls, muffins, etc...lots of fresh coffee and juice options...it was awesome to start the day each day with a full tummy and ride it out until dinner with drinks in between...the staff is top notch from the check in to the people sweeping the floors, they are all great people and will all stop to share their stories and make sure you are making one of your own. The pool is heated which is nice if it's a bit colder when you go, otherwise it's about 100 yards from the hotel to the actual ocean...so nice to be able to walk from the beach to the room to get refreshments and back to the beach...nothing overly fancy about the hotel...it has a poolside bar that will charge drinks to your room...we did not park, but parking was only 10$ a day which is really reasonable...the price of the room was much lower than hotels nearby and offered more (again, breakfast is included and TBH there are not a lot of great breakfast places around OB, so its a steal). Our room was quiet, but I could see thinner walls etc causing a headache for more picky guests...the weightroom (I lift a lot) is very minimal with two treadmills, a cable machine, and a set of free weights so plan on running on the beach or doing what I did which was cardio and a military "murph" workout...however, your card worked in the room 24 hours so that was nice to get a 5am lift in...the front desk saved our BUTT by getting a 6am uber for us when we couldnt find one...phew...great all around hotel ON THE BEACH! read more

It is a great location and is decorated so nicely. It is sad however that our experience was not so great. Though most of our room was clean, the bath tub was not clean. I called and asked for someone to come clean it. I was told by the front desk worker that she'd try to send someone from housekeeping to clean it and if no one was available she'd come clean it herself...no one ever came and cleaned it!! Also, when we asked the front desk for a pump to blow up our pool floaties we were promised someone would come down and help us find the pump but no one ever came!! the breakfast was delicious each morning and it is a good location, however there are several hotels at a good location along the beach so I wouldn't recommend the Tides, I'd rather find a hotel with more cleanliness and better customer service. read more

We decided to pop down to Orange Beach on a whim. So we made the reservation while on the drive down. After reading some very very negative reviews we were nervous about the customer service...but thankfully our experience was amazing. Customer service across the board was great. We arrived very early and couldn't check in until 4:00 but they went ahead and gave us a parking pass and a key card for pool and beach access. So we killed a few hours laying on one of the cleanest beaches I have ever seen. We rented beach chairs and umbrellas for about $15 and the young woman who tends to them was happy to adjust the umbrella when ever we needed and always checked in to make sure we were ok. Sorry I didn't get her name, but she needs a shout out. After we got our keys and went up to the room. The room is huge. It's very modern,clean and has USB plugs everywhere for your various devices. You've got a two out of three chance of getting a fantastic view. Luckily for us we did. Being able to look out the window and watch the ocean as you fall asleep is amazing. The room was so relaxing we decided to stay in and order dinner. There is no on site restaurant but the clerk at the desk said a lot of the ones in orange beach and gulf shore deliver through the website gulf to go so you not stuck with just pizza and Chinese. Bonus, it was delivered directly to our room. Since our room was westward facing we ate on the balcony while watching the sunset. We went to the high tides bar for a few drinks. This is an extra perk they do for the guests. It is not an official bar. There are plenty of those surrounding the hotel so if you need a bar visit one of those, but if you want a simple drink and don't want to leave the hotel this is a good option. Also the drinks are made by the desk clerks and not trained bar tenders. So realize what you're getting and cut them some slack. We can't comment on the low tides bar by the pool since we didn't visit it. We always travel with a white noise machine so it's not a big deal but, you can hear some hotel noise so if that's an issue, come prepared. Morning was waking up at sunrise, again to a beautiful beach view. If you hate hotel coffee each room and the lobby have mini bunn/pod style coffee pots so you can bring your own. Breakfast is the standard sausage, eggs,grits, oatmeal...etc. not every hotel at this price point offers this so it was pretty good. But watching dolphins from the giant windows in the lobby atrium while you have your coffee is priceless. It was suggested that just after sunrise around 6:30 was the best time to see them. All the other guests were pretty amazing too from couples and families with well behaved children. We like to scout out new spots for our little adventures and I think we've found a home at Orange beach. read more

Small modern but very cute hotel right on the beach . Lobby is on the 4th floor so when your eating your complementary breakfast enjoy the views .Seemed to be busy place for vacationers. Room was clean and we had a great view . read more
