This property has a predatory business practice related to short-term parking. I was informed by the front desk I could have my car in front of the hotel while checking-in and dropping my baggage in my room. Three weeks after departing, I received a bill for £100. This is an outrage, as I was given the impression from the hotel staff it was acceptable.
Based on other online reviews and from talking to a manager at the hotel, this is a frequent problem for guests. This practice is predatory and could be easily resolved via improved signage and clearly informing guests that they will be fined if their car is in the parking area for more than 30 minutes (apparently they use cameras to monitor entry/exit from the open parking lot, and there are no gates to make it clear you have entered a restricted area). As a result, just waiting in my car outside the hotel for my wife to freshen up was counted as 'parking'. If they had entry/exit gates it would be clear, otherwise they must inform guests that any time spent in front of the hotel is considered 'parking'.
I will update this review if the hotel resolves this issue. read more
