Definitely a pretty gross hotel, but if you have to stay in Madison, I'm afraid this is the best you're gonna get. I stayed here last week for work. The front desk was very courteous and efficient. The room I had on the third floor was very very humid and had a mildew feeling- wouldn't be surprised at all if there was mold in the walls. With the condition of the carpet and walls and the humidity etc, I had to try my best not to think about the germs that must be around. My best advice is to stay a night, bring some sort of disinfectant with you, rack up a few IHG points, and get out of there before you catch something. read more

Overall this hotel satisfied my need for a place to stay, it was a very average experience. My first room had an overwhelming smell of mold so I had to change rooms, which was done without an issue.The rooms and lobby are clean (except for some nasty stuff on the hair dyer in my second room). The breakfast was definitely a highlight of my experience, there was a great variety of items and had a reasonable window for visiting. A few things were broken which included the laundry machine and the printer in the business center. If you are part of the loyalty program, they won't acknowledge or care about that. Personalities are lacking here, no warm southern welcome here! read more

After checking in and going up to my room, when opened the door the lights were on and the TV was on. A towel was on the toilet tank, crumpled up, a glass was in the trash can, towels were not folded and hanging neatly and the bed was not inviting! I canceled my reservation and left! Awful ! Please read this before you decide to stay here!!!!! Didn't even get to the front doors of the hotel before I got stopped by an officer sitting in his police vehicle in the parking lot of the hotel . He began harassing me asking me personal questions because he noticed I was from Arkansas . Finally got past this creep and walked inside and I immediately noticed signs all over the place stating "warning,we are not liable for any injury or death" Seeing this around every corner of the place made me feel really uncomfortable. Then I told the front desk lady I had a reservation and instead of me receiving points on my account I would like a bottle of water (I ran out after working 16 straight hours of hard labor) and she said that will be $3.00 I said just don't give me the points instead I'll take a bottle of water. as I am a spire member with over 200,000 points . I just want a bottle of water . She said no it will be $3.00 because you didn't come in with a mask. (This was the dumbest thing anyone could've ever said to me, it took every ounce of me to not tell her how ignorant you are for believing in this bull crap) So I said okay don't worry about it then, then I requested to be on the first floor ( btw there were 2 cars in the parking lot. Including the officer). That was it. And she said again without even looking at her computer to check for rooms and said no more rooms available other than your room on the top floor at the very end of the hall . (330 room) I said could you at least check !? She then looked down then looked right back up and said I wouldn't lie to you , no rooms available we are over capacity as it is and then winked at me. (She is a black lady) I said there are 2 cars outside , that doesn't make any sense what you just said to me. She then said "you don't have a mask and there's only one room available" So I told her to F*** off you liberal bIden loving ass dog turd and told her to cancel my reservation . She said sorry guy I can't refund your reservation. But you are more than free to leave as you will". I then said "we will see about that" and walked back outside then that same officer started approaching me aggressively with a K-9 unit in the parking lot . I dropped my belongings and told him to stop coming towards me as you have no probable cause to approach me and I am uncomfortable by how you and your mut is making way towards me. He stopped and said sir is that your truck over there parked in the handicap section ? I said no that is my work truck parked in the holiday inn members section and he said do you mind I come have a look in your vehicle? I said I DO mind and continued walking to my truck. He then started approaching me again that's when I called 911 and placed it on speaker phone stating there is an officer harassing me at this holiday inn and I don't feel safe . That's when he turned around got in his car and left. Idk what the F*** is going on here but I can tell you this. Do NOT come to this hotel. This is the worse experience I've ever had and I've got over 350 nights I've stayed in these holiday inns with over 200,000 points on the IHG app. And I just removed my app and will no longer be apart of IHG or any holiday inns from here on out. read more

The lobby has been updated and looks really nice. The carpet in hallway was worn and dirty. Some of the wallpaper near the elevator was peeling. Our room 314 was ok except the bathroom door couldn't open all the way because the curved shower rod was installed outside of shower. The bed was very firm...the breakfast was ok. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful in recommending nice restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately, this seemed to be the best lodging in town. read more

Map direction on map carried me 10 minutes from hotel. Parking lot is small. Room is dark, not enough lighting. Air conditioner didn't work. Had it set on 61 and still didn't come on. Toilet was backed up when I got into room. Front desk employee was not rude but not friendly. read more

From the moment we pulled in to the parking lot and on until we pulled out of the parking lot everything was top notch. I worry when we travel about the quality of where we will stay. Not knowing anything about the areas sometimes is a shot in the dark. We pulled in and it had a big clean parking lot. Walked into a beautiful lobby that was almost as nice as a $400 a night hotel I just stayed in. So clean and smelled great. The people were so pleasant too. I was so surprised at how nice the room was. A microwave and fridge along with a coffee maker. The sheets were amazing and the pillows were the best! They were actually embroidered with soft and medium. We got a great night sleep and had a huge free breakfast in the morning. I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could! read more

Newly remodeled, so it currently is fresh and clean. Friendly staff, large clean room with a couch, microwave and "dorm room" size refrigerator that also had a small freezer inside, which is very nice when you need to refreeze the ice packs from a cooler. The mattress was firm (as we like it) and the linens were very nice for a budget style hotel. The free breakfast was quite good (but not excellent), better than what you might expect in a hotel of this price range. The only drawback is that it's not in a location that offers an opportunity to go for a walk - not a bad neighborhood, just not walkable. Would definitely stay here again. read more

The staff is very friendly and warm. Great experience with everyone. However, the company should spend a few coins and update the carpet, room decor, air conditioner system and wi-fi. I spent part of my visit teleworking and the wi-fi is very slow. I appreciated the free breakfast, but it was the same menu each day. I spent some time in a nearby newer hotel and its a big difference. Otherwise, the visit was pleasant thanks to the staff. read more

They couldn't find our reservation at first which was fine because we had just booked it online. After we got into our room the sheets were dirty and so we had the front desk bring us more so we could change them. The luggage cart has a flat tire that looks like it's been that way for a long time as the rubber is starting to come off the wheel which made the cart hard to push. read more

Newly renovated and looks outstanding but that does not make up for the awful customer service we received. Stayed here to go to the UGA football game and came back to a room that was NOT cleaned at all and a note on the unmade bed stating the following: "This is a friendly reminder that the housekeeping staff will not move personal items from the beds, countertops, or desk. If you would like the bed to be made or any surfaces cleaned, we ask that you remove any personal items so that the housekeeping staff may clean the area. " I have never heard of such a policy at any hotel I have stayed in previously nor was I notified of this policy when checking in. Please note that the only items that were on the bed, which caused it not to be changed or made, was a small blanket and a t-shirt. On top of that, the towels in the bathroom including hand towels and wash rags were piled together and were sitting on the toilet. There was no effort to even hang them on the towel racks. The ice bucket was not even emptied nor were the cups or the shampoo and soap replenished. Again, it looks pretty but that does not make up for the lacking service. Seems like too much money was spent on updating the hotel and not enough on staffing to take care of the guests and provide them with good service. We will definitely be looking elsewhere next time we come to the area. read more
