This was the worst experience staying at a hotel I have ever had. My fiance and I were just staying for one night. We got in at 3:00 a.m.. one of the cleaners accidentally came into the room around 7:45 a.m. and woke us up early. Check out is 11:00 a.m. mind you. We had an errand to run and we stopped by the front desk to say that we got woken up super early and wanted to see if they would give us a slightly later checkout time. I said to the woman at the counter that we had an errand to run and would be back. They took my phone number so that the manager could call me with a possible resolution . ​ I left to take care of the errond around 9:15 or so and was back at the hotel before 10:00 a.m. when we got back they were cleaning our room and had already dumped out a bottle of alcohol that we had left there. I went to the front desk understandably upset and asked to speak to a manager. The same front desk agent that was there before told me she thought we were checking out and that's why the room was cleaned. I've been in customer service a long time and when my business does something wrong we do something for the customer. This front desk agent just wanted to say sorry and get us out on our way and say that the manager was unable to approve and extended stay for us. However it was still well before the checkout time of 11:00 a.m. when the manager finally showed I explained the situation and she just kind of nodded her head and said sorry. Didn't offer any type of compensation. My fiance came over to speak and he did so in a Stern voice but was by no means yelling. They accused him of yelling and he said are you saying that because I'm black. Boy did they go off after that and this was three white women. They started yelling at us saying oh I have black people in my family I'm Irish and we were the first slaves I bet you didn't know that. I have been screamed at at my job before and I have never returned that same energy. To have a manager speak to us like that was just insane. To make matters worse I go get my phone because I want to ask for their names and write it down. The manager then accuses me of recording them and threatens to call the police. Being that my fiance is black and the police don't have the best history I decided to leave. I hate to tell people they shouldn't go to a place but honestly if you're African American I would not recommend this hotel. I will be contacting the corporate office of course and the crazy thing is it was less than $100 for the room they could have easily refunded it and it would have not been an issue. I assume seriously hope that Holiday Inn looks into this because we were not treated right. I will spend the extra money to stay at the Hilton anytime I'm down in the area read more

I've stayed here a few times while working the World Cup Finals and have been pleasantly surprised with the service from the staff. A special shout out to the kind lady that is in charge of getting the breakfast ready. I really wish I could remember her name. But she goes the extra mile in providing breakfast before the posted times. This is huge for those who have to leave in the morning before they start serving breakfast. My stay has been for 2-3 nights on average. The hotel is also conveniently located in the heart of town. With a number of restaurants and a big grocery store right down the street. read more

Do not stay here!! The property is infested with flying insects. When I brought this to their attention they said they knew and was promised an apology and compensation from management same day. It's been two weeks and nothing despite contacting them 5(!) times. They do not care whatsoever and corporate is doing what they can to get me a refund. Horrible. read more

False advertising, Bugs, and they hire people in management positions that lack core skills like customer service , professionalism and common sense to be in any position none the less a manager. I will give them -10 stars if I could They falsely advertised their accommodations and their room. And after all of this I have not heard back from guest relations, the manager wouldn't even listen or cared to ask what the problem is & I finally reach them through Facebook to which replied and said they reached back out to the manager who came back and said that all I did was complain, (She had great customer service skills by the way it was almost like they were just so desperate they pointed at her and said "you'll do") Manager would NOT even speak to me regarding the issue , was rude and unprofessional as soon as I went to return my keys she was shaking her head and rolling her eyes and said she wasn't giving me the rate of another hotel. Seems that the clerk I spoke to the evening before the manager to expect me at checkout & that I would be down speak to her . I said "good morning " and told "the clerk" that I was intending to talk with the manager but I was in a rush and to ask her to call me . The woman responded " I am the Manager, what is your problem!?" Her aggressive demeanor was completely unnecessary, and by far the most ignorant, rude tone & demeanor I've EVER experienced from a hotel nonetheless a MANAGER! I then reiterated that I was in a rush and I needed her to call me which is when she started shaking her head and rolling her eyes and I said "why are you doing that? why are you shaking your head at me ??" She responded that she wasn't going to give me the rate of another hotel and I said "that's not even the problem ! " ( it seems whoever told her I'd be down relayed the message to her incorrectly ) Regardless she then NEVER ONCE actually asked me what my concerns were. I said well to start the false advertising that you guys had . I said the pool was green and filled with algae , I said it looks nothing like the pool displayed online . To which she responded that they don't control the photos that go up on the Internet . " I then responded are you telling me that Google comes into your hotel and takes the pictures and then post them ? " she then threw her hands up and respond with "well then why did rent it?" How could I KNOW that they were lying about what the pool looked like ? She then walked back in the office away for me so I said that's fine I will reach out to corporate. All the way home I have tried numerous occasions to reach out to corporate I've left messages for them to call me back from HR and guest relations as well as guest relations for awards members and I have not gotten a response I just held on the phone again for another 23 minutes and was disconnected. This is the biggest scam if I've ever seen one! I still intend to contact HR to report her nasty behavior but below are the issues I had which is why I'm asking for my money back. I have included photos that were posted on Google which is what I was expecting including the rate and then what I actually got. However upon arrival the room did not have a couch and in fact was not any wider than the room with the double beds which is shown in the picture l. ( False advertisement #1) The second issue was that they was hair in the bathroom and a bug. When I reported it to the front desk I was told that's just a water bug all nonchalant. I don't care what kind of bug it was for a rate of $187 there shouldn't be any bugs in the Hotel.And then one of the reasons I rented this hotel was because it had a large pool ( advertised in the picture) there was a similar hotel not far up the street for $84 but it had a smaller pool. I called to confirm that the pool at this location was up and operational and that is why I proceeded to rent this hotel. However you will see in the picture that my expectation was very far off from what reality was the pool was extremely tiny there was black mold on the concrete surrounding the pool and it was green from algae. It looked nothing like what was advertised in the photo and it didn't look like it been cleaned in a quiet while. The unprofessional and down right ignorant demeanor of that manager really disgusts me. It instills that they are well aware of this scam that they are running and have no regard for the money that they're taking from hard working people. This is the first vacation I've had in 3 years with my children and Trisha absolutely ruined it. read more

Called here on accident as we were given the wrong number. Employee picks up and we say who we want to talk to. He says, "Wrong number." And then hangs up before we can even get a word in edgewise. Like how rude can you get? Then my husband calls back to talk to the manager and come to find out, the guy who so rudely hung up on us WAS the manager! And then he got even more rude and disrespectful over it! Like completely unbelievable! Like I'm sorry we called the wrong number but he could have easily said, "I'm sorry, but you have the wrong number." We'd apologize, he'd say, "No problem. Have a nice day." Like literally EVERY OTHER decent human being in the world! Like this was ridiculous and uncalled for! We just moved from MD and still have family up there. So now we know to never stay at this hotel when we come back up! That's just not how you talk to people. read more

This place is really clean, rooms were stocked well and had all the standard amenities you could want in your typical hotel, and the complementary breakfast was bomb! They have really friendly staff as well. There is a Dunkin Donuts that shares the parking lot with the hotel in case you're into that as well. Overall we had a great stay and I'd recommend this place to a friend. read more

My husband and I stayed here for one night for a wedding we were attending in the area so we had a special rate in the block of rooms for wedding guests. The check in process was quick, easy, and the front desk person was very nice. Our room was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. I would say it was on par with most Holiday Inn's. My biggest complaint was that instead of getting the 2 queen beds they advertise, our room had two double beds. My husband and I are normal sized people and we barely fit on the bed. In fact, I almost fell off the bed several times through the night. My in laws stayed in the hotel and also had 2 double beds in their room instead of queens so they each slept on a separate bed because they didn't fit in one double. I don't know if all the rooms are like this but they certainly shouldn't advertise it as 2 queens. The bathroom was a little crowded but clean. The shower didn't have much water pressure but the water maintained its temperature. I like that there was a little nightlight in the bathroom. The room also had a fridge and microwave. The internet was free but it didn't work well and we could never get a good signal. My only other complaint is that we could hear everything from the room above us including the person walking to and from the bathroom, using water and getting in and out of bed. The noise woke me up a few times during the night. Overall, it was a nice room and a decent stay but I probably wouldn't return since I barely got any sleep because of the small bed and all the upstairs noise. read more

I honestly cannot think of a single negative thing to say. Reasonable price for the area especially since we booked last minute as this was a spontaneous trip. Stayed 9/28/19-9/29/19 booked online 2 hours before checking in. Room was spacious and clean. Easy check in process. Very comfortable bed and pillows. (Room with 1 king bed). We especially liked that unlike many other places we've stayed, the staff was not banging on the door every ten minutes the hour leading up to check out time. My husband enjoyed the variety of the complimentary breakfast. I enjoyed the brand of shampoo, conditioner and body wash (much better than the standard cheap stuff at most hotels). Plenty of fresh towels and bathroom was clean. Friendly staff who were readily available and responded quickly. Close to restaurants, grocery, gas, Walmart and the beach. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more

Clean looking which is about the only plus I personally found. Items that ticked me off were more of a younger 35 and under issue imo. 1. The tv in room has no ability to select an input for HDMI unless you buy a Samsung friendly universal remote. Front desk guy told me he couldn't help me and then told me only maintenance had spares and they only worked during the day. Universal remotes in room are meant to not have options. I feel like it's the 2000 - 2008 old managers who don't get that people bring Roku's and game consoles with them. 2. Call the maintenance guy and get the remote. That simple. If you can't even do that your future or first hospitality is worthless to me. 3. Internet speed is pretty slow at 8 down 5 up. Again is this 2000-2010 or 2018? 4. Beds don't have comforters on them, only sheets which is weird and awkward. I'm going to ask for one but that should be standard! 5. This is completely my opinion of the area in the short time I arrived and stayed, however the Walmart is pretty beat up looking on the inside, the Chipotle was half open, and people I ran into were not friendly, everyone was grumpy in this area. I haven't tried the Marriott across the highway, but it might be worth the extra $ to someone else to go there instead of here. read more

We stayed at this hotel from july 29-31 2016, so we can be close to the beaches ....the stay was ok the price could be lower considering that the place needed to be brought up to date (ie....lamps no ceiling lights, no fan in the bathroom) their is a fridge, microwave, jacuzzi, and a fireplace in the room. Our room was located near the rear exit door which is good for us because the hotel is totally NON SMOKING.. The bed i have to say was comfortable and clean, we stayed in room 108 which has a leaking AC unit which had the carpet soak and wet in that area, we got an additional $30 off of our room. Their is breakfast that is served morning daily which is good whith plenty of options (ie cereal, milk, yogurt, eggs, sausages bacon, muffins, boiled eggs, pancakes, and cinnamon rolls which are very good by the way just to name a few item overall the stay was decent. read more

A solid three stars. We stayed here for a weekend of shark tooth hunting only because the Marriott across the street was booked up. I prefer Marriott properties in general, so I knew this wouldn't be the same. First, check in. We arrived around 5:30PM. There was a couple in front of us, but it appeared, that even though there were three employees behind the counter, either they only have one terminal to check people in, or there was only one person qualified to check guests in. So when the couple left, the person behind the counter asked us to wait. She proceeded to take a phone reservation. Every last bit of it. Name, address, phone number, credit card info, everything. I was a little dumb founded. First of all, I would assume that this being the 21st century, that everyone makes reservations on-line. Secondly, the other employees just looked at me and smiled (so I am not sure again, if they only have the means/training to check in more than one party at a time). I noticed that there was a wedding party in the building. I asked for a room away from those guests, but that wasn't possible. Fortunately they weren't as rowdy as the wedding party last time I stayed in a hotel. The swipe door locks are pretty old fashioned. It took a long time for the door to unlock. The room had a strange smell to it when we opened the door. I'm not sure what it was, but it permeated everything. The beds had extra pillows (and the pillow cases noted if the pillow was firm or soft). There is a big fridge. The wireless was free, but not very fast. Just before we turned in for the night, the room filled up with cigarette smoke. It was as if someone was sitting next to me smoking. Since I signed an agreement that I would pay $250 if I smoked in the room, I called the front desk. They said they would send someone up to our floor as smoking is not allowed at all in the hotel. Overall not too bad of an experience. I paid $120 for one night, which was more than this was worth. If you can book this place for $85-$90, then that would be more in range. read more

"Owner" Mr. Patell* was the worst business owner I have spoken to. I stayed in the hotel this past week after hesitation of them have expired food last time and serving to clients. I had a deposit bag with $3,000 in it, in my suitcase and it was taken out of my bag and the deposit. According to the management team and owner, the employee is not at fault for the theft. DO NOT STAY HERE if you have any valuables or dislike thieves and dishonest staff. read more

I reserved a room block here for a wedding taking place at Herrington on the Bay. The customer service representatives were amazing- and were able to help us in any way possible. I gave the receptionist welcome bags to give out to our guests full of bottled water and snacks and they went above and beyond to make sure each guest received one. The guests at our wedding said the rooms were clean, everything was perfect, and the air conditioners were pumping (in late May this year- it was hot!) Everyone said that their stay was perfect! January 2014. Staff was friendly at check-in and check-out. Easy process. Room was clean. Temperature in the room was terribly hot. The thermostat was set to 74 when I walked in. I lowered it to 70, then 68...still HOT. Lowered it to 64, then changed the setting from heat to A/C. It then became a tolerable temperature. If anything, I prefer a warmer room, so it was not "just me." I did not notice this at night, but in the morning, the vanity light was not functioning. Had to shave in poor light. The shower had no hot water in the morning. Sink water also was only lukewarm at best, although at night it was hotter. Cold showers suck. Cold shaving not much better. Breakfast: cereal was fine, biscuits ok. Juice was drinkable. Pancake / waffle maker (whichever it was) was out of order. Too many things went wrong. This is not a cheap room. At this price (about $90) you should be able to expect hot water, a waffle, a bathroom light, and a reasonably functioning thermostat. There are alternative hotels in the area. read more

My family and I are having a bad experience here at the holiday inn express .we here on labor day weekend . And the service are bad. We keep asking for a cot for ours room we keep run around .the person who cook the breakfast had funky attitude and screaming at the quest that we are eating to much food..we went down three time asking for towels nobody is not the desk.went we left the hotel the maid smoking out back .they did not clean ours room we got 7pm we was gone since 930 am . The hotel itself is nice, but I swear my room smelled of mold. After the AC was run overnight, the smell was better. Several guests could not even get their doors open and had to call the front desk staff to assist. They said that there was a certain knack for opening some of the doors at this place. The hotel staff has no idea of what customer service is about. Front desk staff would not even look at us when we were asking questions...just stared into space I called the front desk staff at one point and the worker was just outright rude. Did I interrupt her show? The grounds are nice, as is the housekeeping staff...very polite. It IS a newer property. The breakfast does leave a lot to be desired. Dry muffins and bagels. Juice machine empty. Coffee quite awful, how do you screw up coffee. The soda machines on several floors were empty and no place to get water (other than the tap). I'm a Hilton property guy and will remain that way. Hampton Inns are about the same proce for soooo much better quality. read more

If I could post 0 stars I would. My room didn't have heavy curtains to block the light from the parking lot outside my window, just sheers. I didn't sleep much at all. I informed the front desk in the morning because I thought this was unique to my room. No, I was informed all the rooms had the same sheers and no one had ever complained. I'm complaining! Don't stay here. My sis was in Springhill across the street and it was the same price and waaaaay nicer. And they had real curtains. read more

Unlike some reviewers, we had a pleasant experience with the staff. In fact that was the saving grace. My major issue was that the water was not a consistent temperature and that made the shower less than pleasant. We stayed here because my husband's work booked it for him & they made a big deal that they provided him with a room at a 4 star hotel. The bed in the room had no blanket or cover on it, we had to request a blanket. The leather chair in the room was patched with duct tape. The air conditioner blew out so much dust (Husband is allergic to dust) that when we returned home the following morning he had to go into Urgent Care. We went down to the small indoor pool & the water was cloudy & lacked the smell or appearance of chlorine. Upon returning to our room we discovered mouse droppings on our bed! read more

My mother and I stayed here for a week and were not to pleased with the stay. The service was not helpful. We called down twice during the week to ask a question of the front desk and sat on hold for 5 minutes while we could see the receptionist outside smoking. Also, we had to wait at the desk several times to be helped because they were taking a smoke break. The service was not about "customer first." The room was also very dark, the lights were awkwardly placed in the room and left many dark spots. The room was also very "musty" and "damp." We kept the air up very cold to prevent it from getting to musty and humid with warmer air. Also, the breakfast cook that was there on weekends had some sort of problem. She was screaming and talking under her breath about customers. It was not a professional atmosphere at all. This is not a place I would recommend to a friend or anyone. Also, the wifi connection was not strong enough to do any sort of research or homework. And they changed the password throughout our stay and didn't tell us that the password had changed. read more
