Grateful I found accommodations after setting foot in the nearby Super 8 (eeewww) This was a blessed oasis. Granted they are remodeling so there are minor inconveniences associated as such. But I'd rather them improve than let it go down! All personnel were welcoming and accommodating. From great suggestions of local food spots, to allowing me use of the toasters "after hours" Brand new room- I appreciated being "one of the first, 3rd floor boarders, to lay my head on new bed and pillow and sheets. Fresh carpet and bright and light bathrooms. And more outlets-lights-seating than a single person could use throughout the room! Method of closing and opening the blinds isn't the best: a chain you scroll up/down, but it kept the room dark enough. AC was surprisingly LoUD. While running had to turn up the tv/radio up to hear. Also had a loud cycling pitch while trying to sleep Otherwise I'm glad I got a room here and def would choose it again. Felt safe and comfortable. Breakfast was typical IHG -with turkey option and varied egg options-at lease not ALL Carbs like many "continental breakfasts" Breakfast is well stocked and kept clean. Plenty sitting options and 3diff TVs to watch. One washer, 2dryers on 2nd floor: $2 ea. A small weight room that suffices travel workouts. And an inside small pool that wasn't accessible during renovations. Centrally located you can walk to bking/mcD, gas station, and restaurants. Walmart is only a couple blocks down as well.

All the character of a hospital room.

So back in Soccoro again and back at the Holiday Inn. So staff is friendly and get me checked in quickly. Room is clean and everything works. Bed is comfortable and nice pillows. Here's the problem. I get woken up at 5am and then again at 6am with the footsteps of the people on the floor above me. So not happy. And just to throw this in the decor/furniture as all the character of a hospital room.

    Comfy beds! Clean linens!

This is a nice hotel. I found it a bit overpriced, but I think it might be one of the better hotels in Socorro and I didn't have much choice. The lobby was very nice, and the girl checking me in was wonderful. My room was big and had a frig and microwave. The bed was very comfortable, with clean sheets (a must for me). FANTASTIC BATHROOM - I loved it - very large, with a large space where the sink is. One thing about Holiday Inn, and I have mentioned this before, they have the BEST shower curtains; they are cloth and not those plastic kind that start to smell after a while. Great breakfast in the mornings - you can't beat an HI breakfast. The breakfast area was big and clean. Free wi-fi and free parking. I had to park around the back and it was a little dark back there, but the hotel was full and there was no parking in front. There are a lot of restaurants, gas stations, etc., very close by - even a Walmart. Why the 4 stars instead of 5, you ask? That's because I found it a tad overpriced; I think I paid around $120 - and it should be more like maybe between $80 - $100 a night. But, other than that, I have nothing to complain about. I would definitely stay here again.

I would highly recommend Tinnin's, if you want to relax, with or without the family. Robbie Tinnin, the Club manager, is super nice, patient, and very accommodating. If you want to spend a night or two or three they have a newly remodeled lodge which is extremely nice. My son and I stayed here a night and didn't want to leave. Photography-This is a wonderful venue for all wildlife photographers. They offer spectacular views of the Middle Rio Grande Valley (they are almost on top of the Rio Grande river). Some of the animals you could photograph (from a blind) include: Rio Grande turkeys Sandhill Cranes Mule Deer Javelina Coyote Elk Geese Ducks Pheasant Quail Chukar Countless songbirds Fishing-A catch and release largemouth bass pond. The bass are feisty and fight hard on a lure. They also have a giant channel catfish pond. Forget your rod, reel or tackle? No problem, they have these and will loan them to you. My son caught a nice largemouth bass after fishing for only 10 minutes. I caught two smaller ones, so he definitely beat me. Dog training-They are working in conjunction with a professional trainer, Ernest G., to teach pointing and retrieving on-site. My son was able to shoot at a live bird and the pointer retrieved it very quickly. Shooting Sports-If you want to hone your shotgun skills, this is the place to visit. Robbie is the clay thrower and offers tips on how to improve your stance and hit more clays. There is 5 stand, sporting clays, and wobble trap. They offer a variety of clay sizes including standard, medium, minis, and a super thin, fast clay that is almost impossible to hit! My son shot some of the sporting clay stations and they are extremely challenging, even for those advanced shooters. Archery-They have a 3D archery course where you can improve your bow skills. Hunting-Bird hunting with a shotgun includes pheasant, chukar and quail and if you don't have a dog, no problem, they will provide one. Other bird species to hunt are ducks, snow geese, Canada geese, sandhill cranes, doves, and turkeys. They offer big game hunting including elk, and deer. You could also call a coyote in as well. The Lodge is newly remodeled and offers: fully stocked kitchen and bar, living/game room complete with 3 televisions, a pool table and a shuffleboard table, two bathrooms, and four bedrooms (handicap accessible). They offer a steam shower in one of the bathrooms to get rid of any aches and pains. We had so much fun here, we will be back soon. Thanks Robbie, for making this a first class facility.

I was very impressed by the ambience of the place. It was a beautiful outdoor setting. They had a separate place for wine tastings and they had an outdoor building that you could order food and wine and sit outside in the beautiful scenery. They also had Games set up on the lawn, it was a family friendly place or families or friends could congregate and enjoy a beautiful afternoon. We poked around a little and saw that they have a great venue for hosting weddings or quinces or whatever it is you were celebrating . We ordered the sampler platter, which was basically a charcuterie board. Cheese and meat and crackers. It was very good. I also had a sangria that was wonderful and we ordered a frozen lemonade. You kind of stand in line to order your wine and food and they give you a buzzer and a little fan for your table. The people behind the counter were nice and friendly and very efficient. I can't wait to go back and show my friends and spend a little more time and do some wine tasting . This place is nestled far back off of the main highway in a more rural area . A great place to get away.

Both she and I went in in person to discuss this with the front desk. Yet, the night before the wedding, there were a group of our groomsmen left to try to negotiate with the front desk. The front desk insisted they could not put it on a card with someone's else's name, though this had been pre-arranged and the HI manager/staff never once mentioned that before. They insisted on getting credit cards from different people for each room. The next day, my mother in law had to go in to confirm once again that she wanted the rooms on her card (and give them a piece of her mind). We all agreed this must have been the most business ever done by this Holiday Inn and, unless they improve their management, I don't see them contiuing to get much more. Lots of hot water but it was an adjustable head with 3 flow patterns, too hard, too soft, and WAY too soft. Small complaint though.
