Best food and drinks at a reasonable price that everyone could ask for in Northern Wisconsin.

So when my boyfriend told me we were meeting his dad and step mom at Romy's Holiday Inn for Father's Day, I was expecting a holiday inn hotel, not a supper club. This place has an amazing, massive, circle bar. The bar area also has a lot of taxidermy animals. I ordered a Bloody Mary, it was delicious. Came with pickled mushroom, olive and pickle spear. Thankful his step mom made a reservation because this place became very busy at noon. The salad buffet had everything you could want for salad and more. The lunch buffet featured steak tips, boasted chicken, mashed potatoes and dressing. Everything was delicious. We skipped dessert as we were full. Classic northern Wisconsin supper club experience. One in our party grew up in the area so we needed to dine here. We got there shortly after they opened on a weekday and found some seats at the bar. Brandy old fashions for the group. Decent and a good price. A word on the decor. Not surprisingly for a place in northern Wisconsin it is full of taxidermied animal heads but in this case they appear to be big game from Africa - quite a collection. It made for an interesting ambiance. As is typical we ordered our dinner when the waitress found us at the bar. Two of us went with the perch fish fry which was very good. The twice baked potato was excellent. Another ordered the fried chicken special. The chicken was crispy and very moist. Nicely done. The fourth got the tenderloin tips which were perfectly done medium rare and quite tasty. I forgot to mention that the salad bar was a bit smaller than some supper clubs but they had the usual items including four different cheese spreads which were a favorite of our group. An awesome and outstanding supper club. Just off the water with a beautiful view. One of the more unique supper clubs that I have been in. Food outstanding and service was even better. And of course, the old-fashioned were running strong and smooth. This is a must if you're in this area. I've been to Romy's Holiday Inn for banquets and for enjoyable dinner. The drinks are great and the food was delicious.

My little brother had his reception here this weekend. When you first walk in there is a giant bar in the center of the first room. Off to the right is the normal restaurant dining area. Straight back is the hall where the wedding was held. The location itself has nice clean bathrooms and the hall had gorgeous ceilings with plenty of space for about 200 people. They had opted for buffet style for the wedding except for the bridal party. The line seemed to take a while for most of the guests and I heard some complaints of food quality issues (bloody beef tips and moldy bread). At the head table our food was good. I actually preferred the little salads and such before compared to the chicken and other options. Here is rundown of what we were served. Beef tips-- Mine were medium which I like. The mushrooms and sauce were tasty. Chicken--It was greasy not my favorite thing. Potatoes-- Not a fan they were for sure box tasting. Stuffing-- Could have been blended better huge chunks. Flavor was nice. Corn--It was good but nothing special. Cucumber salad--I liked this a lot. The dill in the cream sauce was refreshing. Buns--Nothing special once again. Ours were a little flat shaped. Coleslaw--They ground it really small which I actually really liked. It was dressed with a cream/vinegar sauce that I loved. Fruit--They had random chunks of fruit on the table that did not look appetizing I did not try. Veggies and dip--They had them on the table and I liked this as it broke up all the heavy food that we were served. Overall the food was a little over average. The real highlight for me was the salads those were great. Drinks are cheap $4 for an old fashion and it was well made. read more

Have banquet there ever year for sportsman club. The staff are great, nice big hall for all the night dancing.

My family has been coming here since before I was born. Many a wedding, birthday, anniversary and holiday meal have been had by the Spencer family at the Holiday Inn. Romy and his staff are attentive and very nice. The food is delicious and my wife and I literally drive three hours one way to have lunch with my family. We always have the beef tips and chicken family style with all the fixings and it's SOOO good!!! read more

Only my second time eating here but can't say I'll be back. I liked they offered a 5oz. Holiday Inn steak special however my medium rare steak came out nearly raw and warmed through. Had to send it back. It was heavily salted. Just awful. My twice baked potato was also cold in the middle that this had to go back to the kitchen too however my sister's twice baked was so burnt, it literally was blackened and hardened to the baking dish. My kids and sister ordered the beer battered cod. What we got was pollack. Kitchen insisted it was cod. It was not the correct size, consistency, color or shape to possibly be cod. So we were charged for cod but got a cheap pollock. (We had a chef in our party and every chef knows their fish!) Lovely waitstaff and bartender though. Rumors are going around about their kitchen practices. Maybe they are true. read more

This place has been around a long time due to it being so great. Supper clubs are always a good choice for a hearty meal and that is what you will get here. Grab a cocktail from the bar while waiting for a table. Between the large portions, and the nice salad/soup bar there is no way to walk out still hungry.
