Great experience! From the get go, the bartenders greeted us and made conversation, the waitress was super sweet and the service and food was fantastic. The Wednesday steak special is amazing and the free ice cream dessert at the end was soooo good! Super cute place and we will be back! After visiting here several times, the one thing we have noticed is that you get better service if you go to the bar first. We had reservations, it wasn't full and still had to wait 15 minutes at the door while everyone stared at us standing there. Three wait staff said they would be right with us. Finally took our order and still had to wait for salad and soup plates and bowls. The best thing here is the salad bar. Advertise crab with their chicken, charge $20+ for it and it's imitation crab - aka fish. Love to support supper clubs but I think Browns will get my business. Better service even without a salad bar and treated just as well as those who are at the bar. read more

Never disappointed with our meal at Bob and Laura's. Steaks were perfect. Scallops were seared just right. Salad bar is a must at any supper club and this one has a great variety of items. 5 plus plus stars. We had exceptional service. The menu is very versatile. There is an all you can eat steak option. Lots of seafood choices and many offerings on the salad bar. They offer an option to create a combo which was very nice. The tenderloin and the stuffed shrimp and the ribs are amazing. They offer bread with dinner and 2 flavors of premium ice cream for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the staff was so friendly and fast. We will be back. read more

Being from MN and hearing all about the WI Supper Clubs I was excited to see what the hype was all about. Had the ribeye and for the price it was pretty good! I feel the value for what you got was hard to beat. Salad bar was pretty good, but the twice baked potatoe side that was talked up was terrible. I couldn't even eat them. Tasted like bland moosh or almost baby food. But overall I would go back, just wouldn't get the twice baked again. read more

It was just ok we got stuffed in a corner and then blocked our ability to get up and go easily when they seated a large group around us this place is too cramped for the amount of tables that being said the food was decent but what puts this place over the top is the servers despite running there ass's off they went out of their way to make sure your experience wasn't unpleasant-GOOD JOB read more

Night #2 of moving my grandma up to Wisconsin for the summer, we chose to eat out at Bob & Laura's. The salad bar is a huge factor in our decisions on where to go. I'm finding more and more often my grandparents don't really wanna go anywhere without one. We all ordered entrees and then sprinted over to make up our creative salads. Everything was great as far as the salad bar goes, I did try the corn & sausage soup, which I thought was quite mediocre. My grandmother and I got steak, while my grandfather and uncle got the chicken. I personally ordered a tenderloin cooked medium and added crab and Cajun hollandaise sauce. The steak itself wasn't very good, unusually chewy, in my opinion. I thought the hollandaise was kind of meh and was underwhelming due to the au jus mixing with it on the plate. The crab seemed alright, but my side of a twice-baked potato was kind of a let-down. It didn't look like any twice baked that I've ever had; this was arranged as basically mashed potatoes with cheese on top. It was a little dry, too. My grandmother claimed to like her ribeye, but said it was overly fatty compared to what she has come to expect from a decent steak. We also found out later that although she ordered a 10oz, she was given and charged for the 18oz, no wonder why that thing seemed huge! My grandfather and uncle said the chicken was just OK, nothing to write home about, and more importantly not as good as some other options in the area. No issues with service, although we never got asked if we wanted anything but water to drink. In sum, a great salad bar but in our opinion the food wasn't much better than average. If you're a die-hard steak and salad bar person, try Rene's in Crivitz. read more

Can we please get a table? Came here on a Friday night in the summer and the bartender told us someone would be with us shortly. It was 1.5 hours before close and most customers had already left. We waited near the dining room entrance like we were supposed to. There were 3 tables occupied and the rest empty. One waitress chatted with a group of customers and made eye contact with us several times. Another bartender walked in and out of the salad bar area but never acknowledged us. We did exactly as the bartender told us to do and wait. We waited for 10 minutes and still no table, so left for another place. We stood and waited, the bartender said nothing and saw us there, the chatty waitress continued chatting, and another waitress who saw us did nothing. This place needs a better place at getting a table and having front line customer service. It was dead tonight, so can't imagine how disorganized it would be if it was actually busy. The owner should train their employees on proper customer service and getting a table, especially if the place is very empty and the servers do nothing to help. I've been here before and enjoyed, but will not try for quite a while due to the non-existant service we experienced. The servers are the front line and they failed tonight. If I owned this place I would not be happy. read more

In my annual journey to the Michigan UP, I found this place at the recommendation of a farmstand vendor down the road on 141. Bob & Laura's is a small but comfy dining place. We came on a Friday at dinnertime, when the lot was packed full with cars. People seeking a good fish fry come to Bob & Laura's. Service was good and so was the food. We took a chance on "fried macaroni & cheese." Much to our surprise it looked like tater-tot sized nuggets. Then one bite and we were hooked on the breaded and deep-fried pasta and cheese. I could almost feel my major arteries slowly sealing shut but I survived the ordeal and have to admit I liked it. In this part of Wisconsin, there really are not many nice dining places to choose from, but this is a good one. The decor and ambience gives you that down-home feeling that the locals enjoy when they dine here. read more

Are they under new ownership? Decided to go on a Saturday night for something different. Use to go every year for shrimp night. I don't know, seemed unorganized. Grilled prime should have grill marks. It was like warmed up chewy leather. Took the whole piece home for the dog. No one replenished water at the table. I get when your busy, perhaps more servers on? Deep fried shrimp was way to dark! All out of cranberry juice? I drink vodka cran. We waited half an hour for a person to take our order and we asked before it got real crowded. I'd like to try the fish fry but...... Athelstane is a long way to go for an ok meal. Anyone eat there on Friday and can share? Plus side is prices can't be beat! Oh and they only take cash or check and I was just lucky I had enough cash. This could potentially become my favorite restaurant. The beer is cold the restaurant is clean, the salad bar looked great, if only we could get a waitress to wait on us. We weren't interested in sitting at bar so they seated us in dining room, gave us menus, brought a drink, then ignored for 30 minutes. So I went to the bar and paid for drink. They were apologetic and wanted to wait on us, but we left and went to another restaurant. Service was better. We'll try again another day. Hopefully the service improves. It would be a great place to run a restaurant since there's not many other places around to eat, if you could just place an order. 11/10/18. Well, we tried again. I made sure not to wear a blue shirt this time. I think that was the deal breaker the last time. We are not big drinkers so we asked to be seated at a table. One waitress brought us water without saying a thing and walked away. Interesting. The next waitress was apparently ours because she asked if we were ready to order. Apparently if you don't sit at the bar first you aren't interested in an alcoholic beverage. We weren't asked, so we didn't order. We placed our order for 2 full racks of bbq ribs. They didn't have any. Hmmm. I ordered steak special. My wife asked about chicken cordon blu. It's not made from scratch. Interesting since it's listed in their house specialty menu. She ended up with chicken stir fry. It was mediocre to unimpressive aka pretty bland. 4 cubes of chicken but, your weekly dose of veggies in one meal. Thank goodness the soup and salad bar was decent. Oh, we did receive our complimentary dollop of orange sherbet. Overall it was fair. To recap, no blue shirt means you get served. Oh yeah, take cash or get charged $2 at atm so you can pay for your meal. They do not like plastic. They may be allergic or something. read more

My favorite place to eat when I come back home to Wisc from AZ. They have the BEST salad bar ever. Food is terrific, esp the all you can eat boiled shrimp on Thurs nights. Family run and well cared for. Nadine is the great bartender. You will not be disappointed with your visit here. read more
