Service was way over the top. Ally was extremely helpful with getting us organized and helping my wife who is still navigating stairs after a hip replacement. Food service was also top notch. My wife had frog legs and I had the porterhouse. Hash browns (homemade) were out of this world. read more

We went there and it was a 2 hour wait, so we didn't eat there. What bothered us was the smoking. Last time I checked it was illegal to smoke inside but there were people playing games and smoking. I could not tell you about the food, but I'm glad we didn't stay. read more

First time there great prices for happy hour. However the amount of garlic and seasoning that were on the marinated mushrooms made the Old Fashioned taste like garlic. Quintessential Wisconsin supper club (minus the relish tray/lazy Susan but I digress)! Love the decor, old wood bar and newer wood dining room with a giant moose head on the wall and a stuffed grizzly to lead you to your table. We were there on a Friday night at 5:30 and the wait was a little under an hour for a table but the bartenders were quick to keep our glasses full as we waited (which was nice because neither of us drink alcohol which usually gets us ignored). I ordered the seafood platter with broiled scallops and haddock and fried regular and stuffed shrimp. Everything was cooked well but not a whole lot of flavor on anything. My cousin had the perch fry which she said was even better than our usual (Redwood Inn in Green Bay) because it was cooked perfectly and the breading was well seasoned. The salad bar isn't anything special, iceberg lettuce, couple of veggies, shredded cheddar and cottage cheese. They had two soups - a fantastic corn and potato chowder and a so-so chicken and dumpling (gummy dumplings and broth with very little flavor). You get a beautiful white mini bread loaf at the table that's soft and perfect with just butter. The service was great and atmosphere perfect. I'll definitely try it again when I'm in town and either get the perch or a steak. read more

Nice supper club. We arrived around 5pm (early so we wouldn't have a long wait). We sat in the door area which was a little cold. Hostess came and greeted us and brought us drinks. We thought that was nice so you don't have to wait at the bar. Didn't wait long and we were ordering and being seated. Our waitress was great. Got us anything we needed right away. Salad bar was good. I wish it was mixed lettuce instead of iceberg. Other than that it was good. Food was spot on. Steaks were cooked perfect. We would definitely go back. Worth the drive. read more

Ate here twice over a recent snowmobiling trip. Not much else around. But our group loved it. Typical supper club atmosphere with the usual salad and soup bar. I had a steak one night that was real good and the duck the next night which was about the best duck I've had. Great service and very reasonable prices even at the bar. read more

For the most part our dinners and drinks were good. My dinner companion ordered the 10 oz rib-eye special and it came overcooked but he overlooked that. After dinner we went to the bar for a drink, at the I was verbally attacked by the owner; for making a loving statement. She said that she thinks the former first lady should be hung by her (t*#s, slang for breasts). I stated that I love our former first lady. Sherri went into a political diatribe which included her TWICE calling me a fu#*ing ret*#* (slang for a person with special learning needs). I've eaten at the Weatherwood for over 25 years and regard it as easily the best place around Mountain. Make no mistake, this places makes no pretense of being a gourmet restaurant-no arugula nor anything using EEVO and red wine reduction. It's simply a 'Nortwoods supper club done well: fish fry, broiled walleye, steaks, and ribs, with a classic salad bar and good soups. I ordered a tenderloin medium with a baked potato. When we were seated (5 of us), we were put in a tight corner (2 big guys). Salad bar was awesome. Our main meal came. Everyone had their order correct except me. The steak came rare. I told waitress and she took it back. Returned it 5 minutes or so later. No new potato (it was cold) and steak was now medium rare. The waitress was willing to do whatever to make it right. My opinion is they had the chance and failed. At least the rest in my party had a good meal. And yes, I was the one paying the bill. I was looking forward to this local eatery and heard up and down opinions. When I arrived we did have a long wait and it was about 10 minutes until waited on. I realized also that the staff, at first mostly quiet, was not organized, table wasn't set where they sat us, (and had to wipe off the table twice). That's ok though. What was bothering me was the food was under cooked when I asked medium rare on a steak. I though it was still able to graze in the grass. I was also not happy with an additional hassle with bad fries and the staff not checking on us. We felt like we were a hassle to them. I would not recommend for tourists. read more
