Shower glass door crashes in our room on 6/28 at 5.30am

0 star DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!! HORRIBLE one of the WORST hotels we have stayed - extremely rude Management from Manager itself to Front office, not at all Empathetic as we stayed for 2 nights and the shower glass door completely crashed at 5.30am in the morning, woke us up with a start, maintenance came and cleaned the room which took hours, we moved to another room 3 hours later after much pleading, we were promised a refund on the 1 night stay and the management WENT BACK on their word and accused us of damaging their property. why would any traveler wake up in the middle of the night and purposely break the glass door! instead of giving us the refund and apologizing they are being rude and unapologetic please DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS HOTEL the trauma and the ordeal we dealt only we know with a kid and elderly mom.

    Clean bathrooms!

I would love to leave a review but unfortunately we can't even get into our room as it's almost an hour past our check-in time and our room still isn't ready. Short staffed, but it's management's fault it's taking so long, not the cleaners. Drove 7 hours for this? Oof. Edit: 3 hours later and our room is ready. we left to go look at the lake but I'll write a proper review when we return. Stay tuned. Edit: this hotel is AMAZING as far as cleanliness and looks go. Everything's clean and smells fresh. This hotel was newly remodeled and there are new beds and cabinets and fridge and everything. Tv is excellent: big and clear. I have no complaints there. They compensated for our wait for a room with 30$ worth of breakfast coupons (breakfast isn't free and it's more of a sit-down restaurant rather that buffet). Cons; check in time, short staffed Pros; everything else

    Love the smell of these.

Like many of the reviews here, I would agree. The front desk staff and on site staff from housekeeping and maintenance to restaurant staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Great place to stay if you're traveling with your dog too. Wonderful walking trails behind the hotel. My only complaints are the beds are short and not the most comfortable (and I'm only 5"2') and while the hotel pool area is very nice and we'll kept, there was a kids bday party going on in there while we stayed. Not very relaxing when your are wanting to go for a swim or sit in the hot tub and kids are screaming or running around. I have also seen kids in there after 10 pm, supposedly adults only, but people don't seem to obey or enforce it. But overall, not a bad place to stay. Thankful this place has a Parents Club for NMU stays and the cookies and beverages to welcome NMU Families is a nice touch.

Notice the lamp bar, it only lets small adaptors in, not my iPad charger.

This is a great hotel to stay at, the rooms are clean and they have a refrigerator and free wi-fi. The only way it could possibly get better is to change the lamps. The lamps have charging outlets on them, but the lamp bar only lets small adaptors plug in. I couldn't use my iPad charger. Anyway, I recommend staying here. The pool knocked off 4 stars. It was a mess. Indoor pools always are.

The check in process was easy and parking while minimal was adequate during my stay. They offer complimentary coffee and water when you walk in which was a nice touch. The elevator is very old and extremely slow and I found myself thinking stairs might be faster. As for the room I had heard ahead of time not to stay on the sixth floor due to reported haunting activity so I was on the fifth. Each room is supposed to have a theme but mine felt rather dull and uninspired. Unfortunately the room was dusty and I found hair in the sink from a prior guest which was off putting. The bed was comfortable and the temperature was cold when I arrived at 62 degrees which I actually liked. The view was nice but the room was very loud in the evenings. I suspect I was right below the sixth floor bar because I could hear chairs dragging and plenty of noise until about eleven or twelve at night. On the positive side the staff was kind and nobody was rude. I also tried their restaurant pub twice and it was excellent. The fish and chips cheese curds and chicken strips were all delicious and I highly recommend eating there even if you are not staying at the hotel. Overall while I appreciated the history the location and the food I would not stay here again. My three star review is more about the cleanliness issues and the constant noise from above. For two nights in a king room the total was eight hundred twenty five dollars and for that price I expected a cleaner room better upkeep and more amenities.

Not only was it easy to find, the view of Lake Superior from our second floor room was amazing!!! It was also nice that we were on the end, and the motel was not overly busy - so it was really quite in the evening. The room itself was quite large, with a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge/freezer, and sink. The bathroom was also large and included towels and the basic amenities. We had a king size bed, which was very comfortable! The TV was so nice (picture quality far better than my tv at home) and there were so many channels. My favorite are always the music video channels - great for background music! The patio was large and it was lovely to sit out and watch the sunset. Although it is located off a main road, the surroundings and atmosphere was very quite and peaceful. It was evident there had been recent updates/renovations, so recent there was not a rod or hangers in the closet. In fact, there were few places to lay out clothes. There was one table top, desk top, 2 night stands, and single chair in the room. We were there for 3 nights, so it wasn't too bothersome and I am sure they will finish installing these minor items soon. There is an outdoor pool, it was not in use during my stay (it was a brisk 55-65F). I booked using Hotels.com and they text you the door code prior to your arrival. I had called customer service with a question and they were extremely helpful. Overall, 5 stars! Highly recommend and would stay here again :)

They were professional, courteous and very friendly going over the rooms available and letting me know exactly what to expect. A second story room with a queen bed overlooking Lake Superior. The motel is on Hwy 41 just outside of downtown Marquette MI. The views of Lake Superior are fantastic. We were on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the lake and a deck overlooking the woods. The room has a mini kitchenette with a sink, two burner stove combo, refrigerator and microwave. Dishes, silverware, a couple of pans, dish soap and towels are also included. Cute and convenient. There are also grills and picnic tables on the grounds for your use as well. Our room was $89.00/night plus tax. How can you pass up a deal like this? There is a pool, continental breakfast and the rooms are extremely clean. They do not provide shampoo, lotion, or hair dryers. Alas, there is a slight downside which resulted in a loss of a star. We booked for four nights. The fourth day we did not receive a full room service. Just a change of towels. we had depleted our soap and it was not refilled, the bed was not made up and the trash was not emptied. A slight mishap, but one which would not keep us from staying here again.

Decided to give them a try again. After a delayed flight I arrived at this hotel after midnight. The parking in front was full so I drove to the back. I saw a door but I know they usually require a key so I drove back to the front to check in. The front desk lady Vanessa was very pleasant and thanked me for calling them to tell them I'd be arriving after midnight. I asked if my room was close to the doors she said yes which was great. But the it gets bad. I told her I drove around and saw it but came back to the front because those doors require a key. To mt horror and dismay she said no it's unlocked no key required. And she was correct I drove back around to unload and I walked right in. I will never stay here again since anyone without a key can access the hotel in back and the front desk will never see you. Side note, shower was great. Love hard pressure water.

We stopped eating the breakfast after the 3rd day, since there were way better options nearby. Only so much oatmeal you can eat consecutively. The staff mostly keep to themselves and didn't interact with us at all during our trip, except for the check-in and check-out. Room was clean and quiet for rest. Continental breakfast was average, but you can fill up on lots of carbs for sure, rubbery food for the warm stuff.
